THRIFT'ED I guess my…read moreclothes aren't "thrifty" enough to be sold at a thrift shop. I figure, when purging and downsizing or just doing early spring cleaning why not make a buck or two or NONE. They have a system where you scan a QR Code which puts you on a waitlist (on average 45-50m wait) and you don't have to wait in line, they will text you when your spot closes in. Majority people seem to do this regularly as they have these reusable thrift bags or they bring in suitcases of clothes - literally in suitcases. A buyer will go thru your clothes and pick and choose based on trend and what they can sell in their store. You then get store credit or chump change. Is it worth the wait, no. Even if you do sell a few items; it's not much. I've tried it twice - first time I came up with some lunch money on some very expensive clothes that still had their price tag. Second time, I came up with ZERO. This tells me I'm outdated or my style isn't that "thrifty" Gen Z look. Whatever I don't sell I just bring to Goodwill for donations and call it a day!

The cloths are a bit on the pricey side for second hand but I appreciate that they buy cloths so I don't mind spending a bit more. They have some fitting rooms in the back so you can try stuff on. All the staff are very friendly. Tips if you are selling them cloths, think about the season that it is/coming up, they tend to buy cloth that will sell fastest. The process of selling cloths was easy, they have a waitlist you can join either online before you show up or you can scan a QR code when you get there to join the waitlist. The waitlist is usually around an hour so I recommend doing it online. If you are not in the store by the time they call your name, they will text you to let you know and you will get bumped down the list. You will get more money for your cloths if you opt to be paid in store credit, otherwise for cash you get like half the price. There is no designated parking, it is all street parking.

It's a retailer and variety store chain that specializes in household and consumer goods including cosmetics, stationery, toys, and kitchenware that was founded in 2011 in China and has expanded in 100 countries worldwide. Their stores are in 20 US states, with multiple locations in California. Miniso recently had a soft opening in Hillcrest area of San Diego inside the HUB plaza with plenty of free parking. Their website self described as: 'MINISO is based on three core principles: -Affordable high quality: guides our decisions from design to materials. -Joy: the response our customers experience while in our stores. -Lighthearted: the relaxed and happy feeling when encountering the large variety of goods available.' The shop has collaborated with various brands: Barbie, Disney, Sanrio, Harry Potter, Hello Kitty, Minions and others. Every isle has shelves of useful, funny and cool stuff! Some items are necessities and some are for play and fun. This shop offers lots of things I was interested in purchasing for gifting and also to keep for myself. There was a staffer who was helpful, friendly and nice. Overall, it was clean and organized as expected for a new shop. There were items for babies, kids, adults and pets. My pup Fendi and so had fun walking down each isle with wonder and amazement. A wonderful visit, will return and Recommend!

They have a large selection of just about everything they carry, from gems and crystals and clothing to jewelry and all sorts of mystical gifts. The lady behind the counter also carries a wonderfully peaceful vibe with her, and was very helpful and curious, adding to the overall experience. Pricing is a bit on the high side, but remember they are in a large storefront in the Hillcrest part of San Diego, no cheap rent here. But as opposed to buying your gems or crystals online for less, here you get the hands on experience which counts for a lot when buying such a stone or gem. Plus the atmosphere inside the store is peacefully mystical and refreshing break from all the high energy bars and restaurants nearby. Definitely worth a visit when you're in the neighborhood.

I love having this shop in the neighborhood…read more I'll admit some of their prices are marked up higher than I'm used to seeing at similar stores (especially compared to online shops). I'm guessing that's just the price you pay for Hillcrest rent. I love walking there vs ordering from some soulless online shop so it's fine with me. Other things are priced more fairly, so maybe it all evens out. They also have sales from time to time. I visited on St Patrick's day, and there was a discount on all green crystals, which was super cute. Unfortunately, the bracelet I got that day broke within 3 months of wearing it. It's my go-to shop for incense, oracle cards, and similar gifts, especially around the holidays. They do a great job carrying a little something for everyone and the staff is always really helpful if you're not exactly sure what you're looking for.
