Most items are more than 99 cents - but some things they sell are not only cheaper but also not easily found except online, so worth a look

An ecclectic variety of stuff, loosely organized in aisles and priced to sell. This is the stuff that Big Lots won't carry. Strange, cheap, fragile, disposable, roto-molded, remanded, pot metal, easily-broken... words that describe a lot of the merchandise here. --and I loved every moment of my time here. Our purchase list included: 1. Four metal clips haphazardly coated in rubber tool dip. Certainly toxic and carcinogenic. 2. An Indiana Jones coloring book. 3. Glitter glue. 4. A 99¢ visor for Mrs. since she forgot hers for kayaking. It was so ugly, she threw it away after our paddling adventure on the bay. There were other treasures here-- like ladies unmentionables for the morbidly obese, and Justin Bieber-themed duct tape. You don't need anything in this store... but like me, you know you love walking through, sifting through things that are practically free, and totally disposable. Finally, the antique "security camera" on the wall inside makes a visit worth the effort. Bonus points awarded if you have whiskey shots at the bar next door before heading to the store. Check this place out.

not worth the drive. The cheapest item was 1.99. you can get better deals at dollar tree, Ross. items are old and small.

I only have two malls i consistently go in San Diego, the Fashion Valley Mall and the UTC Mall…read more However, UTC mall is more of a leisure... to walk around and kill time, for my son to play at the playground, for the festivities on the holiday season especially Xmas, to have family fun dates and good food experiences at nearby restaurants and the mall I always go to every time I have issues with my Apple iPhone and techs. The fashion Valley Mall tho, is my main mall. This is the mall where I actually do most of my shopping. We watch movies at the AMC theater when we have extra time and get food at the cafeteria/food court area after hours of walking. My son never misses going inside the Laderach to get a free taste, the best chocolate there is. We love going to this mall, especially with my son now being a teenager, we would most likely be doing lots of our shopping activities here especially at his favorite boutiques, like the zumies, Hollister, Rayban, and plenty others I do not recall.... We also love going to The escape room where the mall is. My favorite is the Nordstrom Rack! ;) The holidays tho could get really packed and busy but there's alot of nice things to see and lots of good deals to look forward to.

I will never come back to Fashion Valley Mall again…read more I was very disappointed with my experience. The mall itself has great stores, but what stood out to me was the number of homeless individuals throughout property. As a shopper, I did not feel comfortable walking around the mall. My two young kids were very uncomfortable, I have to move them from the food court and sit and eat elsewhere. For a high-end shopping destination, I expected a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment. Management needs to do a better job maintaining the property and ensuring guests feel comfortable while shopping. Unfortunately, this experience was enough that I won't be returning.

CONVENIENT (4 stars)…read more Clairemont Town Square?! lol. It deserves a yelp review. It has all the basic necessities! Sure, it's just a plaza but a plaza with much potential. Perfect for a local neighborhood plaza with grocery store, banks, some simple shopping, few chain eateries, a boba shop, etc. I can invision this plaza glowing up in the next several years as the neighborhood becomes more appreciated in value thru the coming years. What I like the most were the two banks I use literally near/next to each other - convenient to make physical transfers. Basic shopping for food or to grab a bite to eat after simple errands. Call me old, but I appreciate the convenience of everything being close by and all in the same area. Until the next visit...

My number one reason for visiting is the Ace Hardware store!! We needed to change the locks on our front door so we came here. They had the kit available when everyone else was out of stock. We had visited Butcher and Cheese many times and were saddened they had closed its doors. There's a Burlington Coat Factory, Petco, Michael's, Von's grocery store, Bank of America, Five Below, and much more! Overall, a nice shopping center with many options!

Overview: a very cute home goods and clothing stores, affordable, friendly service…read more ---- I love stores like these and Ross, its been a minute since I stopped into a Marshalls but my boyfriend needed a pair of dress pants for a wedding so we decided to come here. Luckily there were pants in his size and only for like $35! The clothes here for both men and women are great, a large range of sizes and designs and perfect for any occasion. Aside from their clothes I love the home goods that they have available. I'm a sucker for anything cute, especially mugs and stuffed animals. They knew what they were doing when they put the mugs right next to the check out. I was super tempted to buy one. I was being good until I saw this plush crocodile toy for pets. It was not only adorable but it wasn't an annoying squeaker either, more like a pig oink, that's what sealed the deal and I HAD to get it for my German Shepard. She loved it and it was only $12!! What a steal! ---- Overall: on par with Ross, has a large selection of clothing items and home goods that are perfect for the whole family (including pets!)

I was at this location with my boyfriend earlier today. Everything was fine until I went to try on…read moresome clothes I picked out. I was having a hard time understanding the lady who counts the clothes and gives you a number for the amount of clothes you bring into the dressing room. I was confused about putting the clothes on the rack for her to count, because most places the person just counts it while it's still in your hands (at least in my experience). I thought she thought I already tried on the clothes and was telling me to hang them up for her to sort... anyways I obliged as soon as I realized what she was asking, but then she decided to lecture me. I was in disbelief and didn't say much honestly. My minimal response/reaction seemed to irritate her further and she said "have you never been to a store and tried on clothes before?!" I proceed to try to explain my thought process to her, because I felt I needed to stick up for myself after being talked down to like that. She kept interrupting me and repeating herself so once she handed me my number I walked away into the dressing room. While I was changing I could still hear her talking about it to my boyfriend. He got so irritated, he ended up telling her he didn't care what she had to say, because she just would not stop. She made my experience entirely uncomfortable and should not be working with customers if that's how she is going to treat someone over a minor misunderstanding.
