I happened to notice the A&W while driving and had the strongest impulsive urge to grab an A&W Draft Root Beer Float in a glass mug. It's hard to find an A&W restaurant so I didn't want to let this opportunity slip by. My review is probably biased bcos of the fond memories I have of A&W and can't tell the difference between nostalgia vs this specific dining experience. Either way I had a great time. The staff here are extremely friendly and pleasant! They gave a recommendation to try out the Sriracha cheese curds and that was indeed interesting. I would normally never review a fast food place like this but the guy who works here is so fantastic it deserves a review. I didn't catch his name but he is originally from long island. The first time we went into this A&W my wife spotted that hey had root beer made fresh and she wanted to try it. We went in and encountered this man who when we ordered a root beer to go he insisted we try it in a frosted glass instead. We did and it was great. We chatted with him a bit and he made us a to go cup after we were done with the glass. We went in a few days later and he remembered us. We got 4 root beers in glasses (the right way) and talked to him some more. He was super nice and brought over refills. This man is what America needs more of! We need people who love what they do and want you to love their business as much as they do. If there were more people like this small businesses would thrive. This low rating isn't as much about the food as it is about the service...sadly in these times I pay more attention to the people preparing my food than I have in the past. With that being said the cashier was coughing profusely the entire time I was in line and she even pulled her mask down once to inform the person she was checking out "I promise I don't have covid". It was at that point I started looking at the two guys making the food and I noticed both had beards but no beard nets and even more concerning was the cashier was wearing plastic gloves but neither one of the guys preparing the food were. Sorry but even without a pandemic I really don't like fast food workers "bare handing" my food. Needless to say I lost my appetite by this point but ordered and did my best to eat my meal anyway.
