Consistently the best! My go to on Sunday for my bacon, egg and cheese on a sesame! PS: it is really stupid that yelp requires 85 characters to post - so I needed to add this. read more

This place was a small bagel stop right in a strip mall! From reviews I did not have high hopes but why not try. I walked in it smelled so good I guess bagels were being made fresh in the back! The couple is very sweet but might come off as stand-offish or rude because they are clearly in the Zone! But they are so sweet! Sad they did not have a huge selection of bagels because I always would grab a salt one. As soon as I went to my car and bit into my bagel it was so good! Cream cheese is light but not whipped and not too thick! Will definitely go here again for sure! Oh and also prices you cannot beat! $2.50 for a bagel with cream cheese in yardley it is $5 at bagel train!! read more

The best bagels! I consistently drive 8 miles, and past 34 places that sell bagels to get to A&S. The bagels are delicious, and the sandwiches they make with them are amazing. You can't go wrong getting your bagels here. read more

I've been coming here since I was a kid, now 33. It is and always was the best bagel spot around. The bagels are fresh and made the same way they've been making them since I was a kid. Couldn't believe they had low stars on yelp, DONT SLEEP ON THIS SPOT. read more

I was in the mood for some bagels and wanted to try a new place. Today was A&S Bagel. A&S Bagel is in a nondescript strip mall in Bensalem. As soon as I walked in a bit after 10am, I almost considered walking right out. The bad smell of something burning coming from the grill or something else bad was right in my face. But I soldiered on and went to the counter. The bagels were in a glass case where you order. There were two people in charge; the man at the grill, woman at the everything else. May be a family? Anyway, the woman was not very customer friendly but did say hello. They were out of many of the choices of bagels but did have over two full bins of plain. I asked for a dozen and took the leftover marble, one egg, couple of wheat, and a bunch of plain. I needed one more. I didn't want the onion, sesame, or everything bagels left, so I asked for another plain. Then I got "yelled" at by being told that you cannot have more than a 1/2 dozen of one type of bagel unless you pre-order them the day before! I've never heard of this. So what if I want a dozen plain? Too bad unless I called it in yesterday. After questioning and I guess just taking too long, the lady finally just gave me the seventh plain bagel. Even the customer behind me gave me the "can you believe this" look feeling bad for me getting the business from the staff. Just over $12 for the dozen bagels, and I was on my way out. When I got home, I made myself an egg, chicken, bacon, and cheese bagel. The bagel itself was nice and fluffy with a good bagel consistency. They weren't bad at all. I'm not sure I'd come back. Two stars for service and cleanliness of the place, three stars for the taste of the bagels. I didn't get any of the sandwiches on the menu, but everything seemed reasonably priced. I have to round down for A&S Bagels. read more

SO GOOD! Just had their bagels that a coworker brought in this morning and felt the need to review them because of how good their bagels are 10/10! read more

We went in for their tuna as we moved and LOVE their tuna! we ordered 2 pounds and you would have thought we asked to buy every one of their bagels! The owner's son waited on us and was absolutely rude, nasty, and far from treating us like a respected customer. The father, who was cooking off to the side, yelled, just give it to him. The son was upset because he was giving us 2 pounds and thought it would not leave him enough for the rest of the day, although there was one large container left after we took our 2 pounds. Customer service means a lot. If they continue to treat customers the way they did us they will not have a business to worry about. read more

The bagels here are nothing short of amazing. Perfectly crisp on the outside, yet soft and chewy on the inside. If you're looking for the best sandwiches in town, look no further than A&S Bagels. It's clear that they take pride in what they do, and it shows in every bite. Highly recommend! read more

Absolutely love this place. Such a Bensalem charm. I take my parents here almost every week. The shorter lady working is such a good hearted woman and we love this place. Bagels hand made and delicious, super warm and fresh tasting. Cute little place with a ton of great options. read more

First time walking into this place. Sadly I didn't even get a bagel to tell you if they're good or not. First let me say yes it is Christmas Eve and they were busy preparing orders. Totally get it if you're out of most items but this wasn't the case. My experience....... I walked in excited because the open and 'Hot 'Bagel' sign was on. My excitement grew as I saw customers sitting and eating their bagels. I was then asked if I had ordered (pre-ordered). I said no and was met with 'well all these bagels are for orders.' My response: can I order? Man: no we're closed Me: but your open sign is on.... and you have people eating...? Man: ya but these bagels are for orders. Me walking out: your open sign is on man Man: no it's off Woman: you can come back in 20. Me: your signs indicate you are open Women: well did you order? No you didn't (append rude tone) I will never step foot in this establishment again. Please see pic of sign grrrrr read more

Stopped at A&S bagel today, 7/15/2024 ceilings all water stained, AC barely working and no gloves worn while cutting bagels and cook had one glove on, MONEY BEING HANDLED not a very welcoming atmosphere, and the grill looked really dirty. i'd give zero stars if i could. read more

Yes, a good bagel place in Bensalem! I was heart broken to leave North Jersey, where my everything bagel got me through many broken hearts and sleepless nights. Then I moved to Trenton, and after a few attempts found a replacement...so naturally when I moved again, I was not looking forward to starting the search from scratch. But thankfully this was a hit from first bite! This bagel place is very unassumingly located in a small plaza, and when you walk inside it is even less appealing than the strip mall. It's two middle aged, middle eastern guys cooking up some delcious carbs. Unlinke some other bagel places, there aren't many fancy options, but all the ones you expect. I choose my usual: everything bagel, egg, cheese and pork roll. It was made quickly and I couldn't wait to get a bite. I would've enjoyed a bit more pork roll, but it wasn't cheap at all. Although this is a no frills place, there were a few things missing for me. Like there is no menu posted, so I have no idea what other types of sandwiches they make. They also didn't have orange juice, which seems pretty basic for a place that sells breakfast. I personally would've loved an ice coffee option, but I know that's being a bit pretentious...but I'm still speaking it to the world just in case. Overall, definitely returning and excited that the place is both affordable and delcious! read more

Stopped in recent to get sausage, egg and cheese on everything Bagel with a cup of coffee. That's about all they sell when it comes to breakfast sandwiches unless u want a Hoagie. The Breakfast sandwich was good. Was impressed. I do wish they Atleast sold hashbrowns to go with sandwich. Coffee was OK. If i was ever in the area again. I would definitely stop by for a bite to eat. read more

My whole family and I order from here about once a week (sometimes even twice) and have been coming here for years. I truly do love the family and the food is always done quick, I would recommend this place to anyone! read more

I used to love this place because the bagels were great and it is family-owned. I previously gave it 5 stars... but then I experienced how the staff treats repeat customers. I've been coming here off and on for 5+ years now, and there's a clear pattern of behavior. The one star is because their everything bagels are still on point (when in stock). Four stars docked because of poor Covid-19 practices, horrible treatment of customers, and unsanitary practices in their eatery, both in terms of the place's cleanliness and their unsanitary handling of food. *If you're dealing with the old man, expect a snarky and/or underhanded comment.* If you want egg bagels, order it well in advance. And if you want anything customized or changed around, ask the lady (she's the nicest on days where she's not beat down herself). read more

I love this place!!! Unfortunately, they seem to take the phone off of the hook when busy, which is most of the time. Perhaps if one could order via a website, one wouldn't give up and go elsewhere or just walk in and wait with A LOt of other customers... read more

The staff in there are absolutely disgusting. The woman Tammy is rude and her son sweats profusely over the grill. Nothing appears sanitary at all. They were coughing all over the bagels and mask-less. I couldn't even order I had to leave. When they noticed I wasn't happy with their cleanliness and decided to leave they began yelling at me. Red House is MUCH better and only right around the block. read more

This place looks like it is going under. Went in to get a bagel toasted with nothing on it I was trying to be nice because I got sick from the cream cheese but the bagel was good so I went back. I got yelled at by both staff even after I was willing to pay for the cream cheese when I didn't even want it and I was yelled at. Very unprofessional. But the place doesn't look great so I shouldn't have expected much read more

The bagels here remind me of NY style bagels, they're very large and tasty! This store is located about 5 mins from the Parx casino in a shopping strip. I wanted to grab some quick lunch here and order either a tuna salad or chicken salad but when I looked through the glass, none of them 'looked' appetizing. I've tried the tuna from long ago and don't remember it, and wanted the chicken salad this time around. Since it didn't look so great, I ordered the Nova Lox instead, on a poopy seed bagel. It was pretty good, no capers though, which was disappointing. My friend's sandwich looked really good - he just ordered an everything bagel with sausage, egg, and cheese. I'll probably get that next time I need breakfast in the area. read more

Freshest bagels and amazing homemade cream cheese. Family owned restaurant can't go wrong with this place.

It is a testament to the American melting pot that bagels have become an American dish sold by people from the Middle East who have no cultural connection to the ethnic source. A & S Bagel sits in a nondescript commercial strip at the bottom of Galloway Road. It is clean and bright, even if uninspired in its décor, with yellow walls and lights, and white booths along one side. The workers/owners are friendly enough and know how to slice and spread efficiently. They don't have the broadest selection of bagels, but they are made in the back of the shop and are certainly fresh. My Onion Bagel, Butter and Swiss was ordered and delivered to my table within 5 minutes. This being a Boar's Head operation, the option on the cheese was eliminated in favor of only their own brand; always a disappointment as the taste and texture of the Swiss is not as good as Finlandia, Jarlesburg, or other Euro-based names. The only major issue with the bagel was that it lacked a crusty skin, and had a weak yeast taste. It was more like sourdough loaf in the shape of a bagel, and not the authentic crunchy outside and airy inside that notes a proper bagel. Still, it was quite big, and obviously satisfying to many. I suggest a visit to Bagel Train in Yardley if they aspire to a closer approximation of the real McCoy. read more

A&S is a local favorite for very good reason. While the ignorant get their bagel fix from the big chains, those in the know head to A&S. It's the only place you're guaranteed to have a fresh bagel, because you can literally see them baking and boiling at the back of the store. The bagels themselves have the telltale boiled crust that gives way to a soft and hearty crumb. Although the flavor selection is more limited than the big boys, the simple flavors provided serve to enhance the bagel's innate characteristics rather than distract. Also, they offer whipped cream cheeses, which add a pleasing texture to their products. Prices for bagel sandwiches are reasonable and they are generous with portions of lox, whitefish salad, and other staples. When in the mood for bagels, look no further than A&S. Leave the chains for the amateurs. Cash only. read more

Well that was less than enjoyable. Sausage egg and cheese on a plain bagel lightly toasted. When I ordered lightly toasted got death glares. Sandwich came out and it looked like the lid fell off the pepper shaker. Why do they do that? A little bit of salt and pepper for flavor but then let the customer decide if they want more. Incredibly rude and short. Won't be going back. Just not nice people. read more

They use the cheapest no taste toppings that money can buy. They don't even serve garlic bagels. The everything bagel has no taste at all. They do make there bagels there. But they are not realNY . Yes they are cheap, but there bagels are cheap. They are a rip off buying there cheap bagels . There white fish is great. Just go and get your bagels some were else. They charge for a bit of butter. They use to give you a full pickle slice. Now you get one cut pecise.really how much are you saving. This is not real NY stuff. You can't even taste the poppyseeds. Cheap shit. read more

This is the best bagel shop I've ever visited or purchased from! Always hot fresh bagels, cooked to order sandwiches and very, very pleasant couple, who work very hard to give us the best bagels! I use to work in a Bagel shop (won't mention the name) as a general Manager, the bagels we made were pretty good but A & S Bagels are by far the best! If you haven't tried them, Honey you are missing out on the Best! We love A & S Bagels they have been around for along time and it shows why in their product, wouldn't buy bagels anywhere else. Thanks A&S bagels for being a True hard working company who cares about their products and their Customers. I have a question for those of you who have commented on the lack of wearing gloves. When you are serving meals to your Family or your Dinner quests do you wear gloves? I'm so tired of hearing about this issue I've gone through food safety classes more then once and some of the stuffed they teach is really ridiculous. I promise no one is gonna get sick if they don't wear gloves to pick up your bagel. Also those of you who have said you experienced bad attitudes from the employee's at A&S Bagels, have you ever listened to yourselves when you speak to others? maybe its your attitude not theirs, You get what you give and being kind and respectful to others could be part of your problem. read more

Super Homie mom and pop shop! Fast service even with a full house, bagels are fresh and delicious

I've had a million bagels from this place. They aren't the best but, they are close, convenient, and good enough. Does the angry guy know that the gloves aren't to keep his hands clean, but that they are to keep the food clean and the customers healthy? I think it's more disgusting when he uses the gloves then when he doesn't. He puts them on and he keeps them on. He will handle the food and then check you out and handle your money while never changing them. They are visibly dirty when he goes back and starts handling food again. Oh well, I'll probably still continue to eat here. read more

They make a really good bagel and a really good bagel sandwich . My problem is they say they open at 6am yet I never see them open at that time... I waited until 630 and still nothing.. if you don't want to open that early fine, BUT CHANGE THE POSTED HRS read more

A&S has been my go-to shop for bagels for a few years now. All of their bagels are always fresh and their cream cheese selection is great. When we buy in bulk and serve to friends and family, everyone loves them and asks where we get them from. No real complaints here but I would love to see a wider variety of bagels and updates to the shop itself. I have also noticed a slight variation in quality during visits, but I have never been unhappy with it. read more

The bagels here are really great. They're soft inside and crispy outside. The jalapeno cream cheese was spicy enough so you could tell there were real jalapenos in it. Although the cream cheese tasted a little soft like whipped cream cheese, which i'm not a fan of, the bagels are the best around. It's a nice little bagel shop. read more

Bagels were good but not "wait over an hour in the cold outside" good. A little disappointed.

Based on others' reviews and my own experience here (first and last), this guy just doesn't believe in using gloves. He walked out of the back with a handful of cut pickles, threw them in a metal bin in the case, wiped his hands on a filthy rag, and then made my sandwich, all without gloves. No thanks. read more
