The corned beef hoagie at Marinucci's Deli is incomparable. It is layered with paper thin slices that are rich but never heavy. The dressing is balanced, the coleslaw adds a nice tang, and the shredded lettuce brings a fresh crunch that ties it all together. That's not enough. If you're from Philly you know that none of the above matters if your bread sucks. Well... Marinucci's offers seeded and unseeded rolls that are incredible. The only problem is that it's not exactly convenient for us since we live in Jersey. Luckily for us, we wandered across the bridge and finally had the opportunity to give this place a try. We shared a cheesesteak with Cooper cheese and also ordered the Italiano chicken cutlet. Unfortunately, there was a little mix-up with our order, and instead of the chicken cutlet, we received the "Joey's Hot Honey." The cheesesteak was fantastic--packed with steak and cheese and served on a perfect seeded roll. And even though the Joey's Hot Honey wasn't what we ordered, it was absolutely delicious as well. We ended up taking it home with us, and after an hour-long drive, it was still delicious. We both agreed it probably would have been even better fresh off the grill. Mistakes happen, and honestly, I can't find it in my heart to give Cafe Carmela anything less than five stars. The food lived up to the hype, and we're glad we finally made the trip.
