Not happy with the service Rock's provided. Unfortunately. I called on Friday to place an order for a small hoagie tray to be delivered today. The young lady on the phone said it would be $45 plus tax. My boss wanted to know the full total with the tax and delivery fee so I called again this morning to get the amount. A gentleman answered the phone this time. I asked him if he could give me the total with the tax and delivery fee and he said, "It's $45 plus tax." Okay... I asked about tax AND the delivery fee. So he says, "Well, let me get my calculator." He was speaking as if I was inconveniencing him. He said, "It'll be $47.70 and I'm not sure if they're charging a delivery fee." I told my boss that the gentleman I spoke to wasn't sure if there would be a delivery fee applied to the order. She asked me to call back to speak to a manager. When we asked to speak to the manager, we were told the manager wasn't there and that they would have to return our call later. They finally called back and said it was $47.70 and when we asked about the delivery fee, there was a moment of silence and she said $47.70 would be the cost of the food. My boss called one last time and the lady on the phone was rude and giving my boss attitude about calling for pricing. When our tray arrived (15 mins earlier than expected) the delivery man said the receipt was in the bag with condiments. Apparently no delivery fee was charged because we are about a block away from Rock's. It just a shame that we had to call that many times to get a straight answer and they made it seem as if we were wrong for wanting to know an exact total. The hoagies were okay. Kind of dry but I added a dab of mayo and it wasn't bad. Just wish they knew how to properly speak to their customers. I don't think I will order from them again. Perhaps the service is a little different when you dine in.

Hmmm my 5 star review from 5+ years ago seems to have disappeared. The best hoagies in the neighborhood - better hoagies than Timmy Ds and especially wawa (only 2 other sub places in neighborhood; well I guess there's chubbies too...). They slice their deli so nice and thin. Good wings. Only downfall is they really do take 20 min to make your order. So call ahead and don't come earlier or you'll be waiting. Good hot roast beef. They don't run out of rolls like Timmy ds. (I like the seeded rolls). A bit pricey and have to spend $10 min to use card.

Today was my first experience at Rocks Italian Deli. A group at work decided to order from there for lunch, and I was the delegate to go and pick it up. I had a chicken salad sub, with lettuce, tomato, onion and spices. It was very tasty, and the portion size of the sandwich was humongous. The rest of the group ordered a variety of sandwiches and French fries. Everything was good, and the food was prepared quickly. Only downside is the appearance of the actual location. It could use some modernization.

My go to venue for takeout breakfast. Whether it's a sandwich or a platter I've never been disappointed. Today I called ahead for a platter with scrapple, scrambled eggs, hash brown patty and wheat toast. My order was ready when I arrived and I was out the door. I got back home and got right to it. The scrapple was cooked perfectly with a nice crispy exterior and soft interior. The eggs were cooked well and I enjoyed the taste didn't add any salt or pepper. The hash brown patty was nicely fried giving it a little crunch. I will definitely have to try some of the deli sandwiches they offer.

Love this place... They have THE BEST breakfast sandwiches and they are served all day long... Very friendly staff

I called in my order and the woman on the phone said it would be ready in about 20 minutes. I ordered two Hot Fuzz (one for my fiancé and his friend) and a Tuna Italiana. When I arrived, there were 4 customers inside waiting for their orders and browsing the massive selection of chips. Chubby's also sells beverages so you can make it a complete meal. Additionally, they serve breakfast sandwiches and are open 7 days a week! The Tuna Italiana sandwich really blew me away. The sharp provolone cheese, roasted red peppers and seeded roll made for a really nice flavor profile. Everything tasted fresh. They cut the sandwich in half properly so you aren't struggling to break it apart. Service was pleasant and fast, and prices are reasonable. It's slightly more expensive than Wawa but also more flavorful. Chubby's is my go-to now for deli sandwiches since it's in such close proximity to home.

Why offer them if you are not going to read them? I ordered a tuna hoagie and the only way to ask for no cheese and no toppings was in the instructions - plainly printed on the receipt. The tuna hoagie was of course loaded with onion, lettuce, tomato and all the things I did not want. We could scrape them off but that really isn't the point. The cheeseburger hoagie was not good at all. The meat had a funny dry, mealy texture. It was hard to choke down even a fourth of it. I asked for American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and yellow mustard. They made it their way, not my way. No mustard at all of any kind. I also asked for deli half-sour pickles but didn't get them. Maybe they're a deli with no pickles!! Okay, so now I know. However, many of you might not know that Mister Ricks also makes great cheesesteaks. They have one of the best cheesesteaks I've eaten in Philly. The sliced ribeye is tender, juicy, and flavorful and stuffed into a giant seeded roll. A bargain for $14.99. Get it with fried onions and your choice of American, Provolone, or Cooper Sharp Cheese (hint: get Cooper Sharp!). It was so good I didn't even need to add any flavorings like ketchup or mayo to it (some cheesesteaks in South Philly are so dry they need ketchup and mayo to make them palatable). Mister Ricks cheesesteak is also physically larger than a lot of cheesesteaks I've eaten, so not only do you get a great cheesesteak, but it's also a great BIG cheesesteak that can be shared, especially if you get a couple of bags of chips. Oh, yes, they also have a vast array of chips and Coca Cola soda products to choose from. My son pointed out that this cheesesteak rivals and even beats any of the fancy, famous cheesesteak shops I've taken him to all around Philly. Totally true. I can name some of them, but then those shops might not like me anymore! Service is always quick and efficient. They serve a lot of folks on days with sporting events so if you're in a hurry, call ahead to place your order. Sure, their hours are a little unusual, but I get it--they probably don't need to stay open all day because the local crowd keeps them busy, and honestly, the hoagies are just that damn good. Café Carmela -- Pumpkin Pizza & More!…read more On Halloween night, I stopped by Café Carmela excited to try one of their seasonal favorites, the Pumpkin Pizza! Since the restaurant was busy (understandably so), we started with the Meatball Salad, which turned out to be a fantastic choice. It came with crisp romaine, tomato, onion, red wine vinegar, EVOO, ricotta cheese, and delicious, tender meatballs. The mix of creamy and tangy flavors worked perfectly together, a great way to kick off the meal. When I asked our waitress for a recommendation, she mentioned that Café Carmela is known for their vodka sauce, my personal favorite, so I ordered the Drunken Rigatoni. It featured San Marzano tomato, cream, Stateside vodka, basil, and Grana Padano cheese. I also added a chicken cutlet on the side (because protein goals ). The dish was excellent, the flavor was spot on, though I personally would've liked the sauce just a bit creamier. Still, I'd absolutely order it again. Then came the star of the night: the Pumpkin Pizza. If you're a fan of seasonal specials, this is a must-try! It had arugula, ricotta, mozzarella, roasted garlic, sage, and roasted pumpkin, all beautifully balanced. The flavor was rich, cozy, and full of fall vibes. Next time, I'd just ask for the crust a little crispier (personal preference), but the pizza itself was amazing. Served family style was Carm's parm which was good and the Drunken Rigatoni. The vodka sauce on the rigatoni was the star of the show and made this dish my personal favorite. For dessert, the tiramisu was good, but I appreciated that they also served the birthday cake. However, the coffee was lukewarm at best. The family was able to bring in balloons and decor. That, coupled with background music, added to the ambiance. Service was excellent too. Be advised that the parking here can be a challenge. We got lucky, but the restaurant lot is very small.
