Part of me feels protective of this Giant since it was my main grocery store for over two years. I spent lots of long shopping trips here wandering down the aisles, including that horrible period in March 2020 when the pandemic first started. Keep in mind, the staff here was always very helpful (especially the folks manning the beer section) and I have no complaints about them. However, I can safely say this is one of the most dreadful Giants in existence. I've bought multiple items that were far past their sell by date (mostly yogurt and kefir). After being fooled a few times I started to meticulously check the dates on everything I picked up. This store needs a remodel badly, since you can tell when you walk in that it used to be a completely different store brand just by how the sections are laid out (probably a Shoprite?). The aisles are too small and everything seems dirty. It's much too tiny of a store for the population it serves, when you consider all of the Fox Chase and Burholme neighborhood people come here, as well as the suburban areas located close by. I just don't see them lasting in this location without a complete remodel. Don't even get me started on the parking lot, which is just horrible, complete with oblivious gym goers next door constantly wandering around without paying attention. It could be a nice location, and I'm sure they make a fortune if you judge by the crowd size, so I wish they would improve. read more

This particular Giant is consistently out of items. No matter what day of the week you go, the store seems to have difficulty keeping their shelves stocked. I ran over earlier today just to grab a few things and they were out of 2 of the 5 things I was looking for (rice and apple sauce). Another thing I don't love is that customers are not required to wear masks in the store. It seems an irresponsible decision on their part as we are still dealing with rising covid numbers. Save yourself the frustration of having to stop at more than one grocery store for everything on your list - Go to ACME, Whole Foods or one of the other Giant locations instead. read more

This store is NOT keeping customers or employees safe! While shopping this evening, there was a family in front of me with a large order. None had gloves, and there were no masks on the two kids (who were touching EVERYTHING). The mother had her mask pulled down (so her nose wasn't covered). There's more, but you get the picture. Anyway, I got out of line and informed the manager. I told her that the area was no longer safe for customers, and definitely not safe for the cashier anymore. She tried to brush me off, but that wasn't happening. I put up a fuss, but when I left the store, the cashier was still there. When I returned (with cell phone camera) they had simply put a new cashier at the same contaminated area and were ringing up customers. I also brought this up to a security guard and received another brush off. I plan to report all of this to higher ups, but in the meantime, be warned. THIS STORE IS UNSAFE! read more

Giant is my go to place for any home needs cleaners laundry bathroom soaps paper plates cups ect. Also I like to buy the fresh meats and fruits/vegetables. The prices are not to bad I try to stick to the things on sale for the week. The customer service are friendly and helpful and the store is always clean with stocked up shelves. I do recommend shopping at Giant it is a great supermarket and there is also a starbucks inside . read more

I went to the Giant Huntingdon Valley location just to try out their locker pickup. This was a really wonderful experience from start to finish. Using their website, I was able to find the items I needed quickly and efficiently. It was very user friendly. Seeing that you have to have $60.00 or more in groceries/items in order to utilize their delivery option, I noticed this particular location had refrigerated lockers for easy, fast pickup. Every item I ordered on the Giant website was perfectly selected by a Giant worker ~ no switching up items or getting groceries that were no where near what I was requesting! It was perfect. The quality of choices are great, the prices were very, very competitive and everything was bagged, refrigerated and so convenient, this will be my go to supermarket from now on! read more

I just moved to the area. Everything is going great except for the discovery that this is our local grocery store. In a word, this store sucks. It's small. It's cramped. It has lots of empty spots on the shelf. The prices are high. The selection is poor. And it feels vaguely dirty. read more

@the pharmacy- I have been using the pharmacy there for YEARS and recently it's been slow, they mischarge items , constantly try to over charge on medications that always take a discount card, the man at the counter always seems confused and doesn't know what he's doing, they never have anything ready either .. when drs send over days before, and half the time things are not even in stock .. I changed pharmacies to rite aid, today was my last Straw with them read more

This's my go to super market I go here at least twice a week . I like that it is out of Philly because I don't have to pay the sugar tax. I also like the fact that I earn points towards gas or 10% off. They usually have good deals on food each week too. I also think it is convenient that there is a 6 pack store inside the super market so if I ever want to sit down and chill and have a drink while my wife shops I have the choice to do so. Just got back from shopping at the Giant on Huntingdon Pike. In aisle 10 in the prepared foods section. I looked at the "Prego Meals" bags, and the bottom of the bags in several of them were open. When I looked further at the bag, it was filled with mold and other gross things growing in it. I moved the bag down and then 50 small tiny flies came flying out! It was absolutely gross. Does anyone in this store notice bag with mold growing in it and the bags being open? I quickly inspected every item in my cart to make sure none of the other items that i purchased were open or had anything growing in it. I told a clerk about it on my way out and showed him the photos. I then quickly left the store. I will never shop at this Giant location ever again after this disgusting experience. read more

If i could give them no stars I would. I stopped in last night 6/12/20 around 7:30 p.m. I encountered a male shopper wearing his mask on his chin. I asked him to cover his face and he refused stating he was the only one on the aisle. Apparently, I must have been invisible. I immediately went to customer service where I was informed that they were not enforcing the wearing of masks in the store. I immediately left and will never return. I also work in the food industry where all employees and Shoppers are mandated to wear a mask or asked to leave. What could be Giants issue, I wonder? read more

This store was many others before it became Giant. I have been in the neighborhood for 40 years. I remember Genuardi's. It was a family owned market and the pride they had was very apparent. I have been in other Giant stores but this one is 2 minutes from my house. It is filthy, inside and out. The carts are never cleaned and the grounds around the store are appalling. What has to been done for the directors to improve this store? I had mentioned it once before but nothing has ever change. It's a disgusting store, we deserve better in this neighborhood. read more

Wifi seems designed not to work with PC. It connects to my phone, but I'm looking for a place to do homework so I need my computer. The prices on the groceries actually look pretty good but the shelves aren't very well stocked right now. The place is very crowded. It's hard to get through the front of the store. I overheard someone at that Sunday is always line that. I did get checked out in about thirty seconds in the expression lane. read more

The mini Starbucks inside the giant is great for a quick fix while food shopping. They have some promotions that the other Starbucks at the end of the strip mall doesn't have. This place is a hidden gem with decent deals. Also, check out their kocher section for dairy free baked goods. Can't recommend the brownies and oatmeal raisin cookies enough! The organic section is well maintained and it is very easy to find what I am looking for, management should be proud of this section of their store. read more

I like this store because it's on the smaller side of other Giant's but needs to be more organized and clean. One time I found a kids juice box that had leaked out juice with crawling warms inside. Ew. read more

Giant as a whole has always been a top-notch supermarket chain. This one is my favorite. I'm always warmly greeted by the employees, everything is always well-stocked, particularly their organic produce section, which is a huge plus. The fact that it's only a few lights outside of Philly is also a plus for anyone who wouldn't mind going a few minutes further for a great grocery shopping experience. read more

How does this store stay in business?? On a good day the narrow aisles are difficult to navigate, the layout is odd, and they are always out of items. However, until today, I would have been able to say that at least their employees were kind and helpful. That statement is no longer true. First an employee refused to hand me a half gallon of skim milk while cleaning up a spill and blocking the section. Then, a manager rudely told me to go all the way out to the entrance to get an ad for the coupons. The lack of professionalism and common courtesy was so surprising. As I said, in the past the store might have been lacking but the employees were always so pleasant. This takes away any incentive to ever go there again. read more

Always out of items, even pre-Covid, just got much worse since!! A lot of unfriendly, rude staff!! Those stocking shelves always blocking isles or almost banging into me when on the move- many times I've had to come to a screeching halt or get hit...most never acknowledge I'm there, & they rarely try to move if blocking something I need. I've also had a lot of bad interactions with the guys who collect shopping carts...cutting me off, banging carts loudly startling me, standing around talking out in the parking lot - when returning my cart to collection spots, God forbid they walk a couple of steps to come get the cart from me since I'm disabled. Nope, I have to hobble all the way to them as they continue talking. Folks at the deli need to pay attention to how someone asks for their lunch-meats cut- if you ask for thin or shaved, that's what you should get...over & over, I don't. People working at the self checkout are usually nice - especially Alma!! She was so sweet & I overheard her helping an elderly woman with so much patience. Maybe the rest of their staff could take some instruction from her!!! If I didn't live so close, I definitely wouldn't be back to this location. read more

I am done with Giant on Huntingdon Pike. Isles are to small always cluttered making it very hard to get around. The customer service is really lousy & the store manager doesn't care. I was tears telling him my store experience as I was sick & going to pass out. On top of which I accidently eft $80 cash in the self checkout trying to get out of the heat & into my air conditioned car. He promised to call me back & never did. I told him I was scrambling for my cell to call 911 in the parking lot. He didnt care. Shame on Giant. I will spend another dollar there read more

As far as big chain supermarkets go Giant seems to be pretty on the ball. They are clean, well stocked and when I went into the back room to use the bathroom I didn't see even one familly of feral cats(!). This was a back room staple in Brooklyn where I am from; no feral cats in the back room meant something was amiss (I think). As far as Giant hours I find that the employees are overall a pretty cheerful bunch who actually want to help you. As far as selection they are second to few and I very strongly recommend taking them into your life as your own personal, friendly grocery chain. I will say I miss the days growing up in Brooklyn where a 'grocer' meant a guy, perhaps named Oscar, who was just a bit more enthusiastic about the whole 'grocery thing' then what may even be reasonable, but it was super cool. He could reach virtually everything in the store from where he was sitting and accomplish with some of this magic via a telescopic grabber device. The Oscar I am thinking of considered himself to be a "Master-Grocer" but I truly have no idea what that means. I know that it involved only wrapping meat in wax paper and wearing a pencil behind his ear. Usually I actually saw him with a pencil AND a "grease marker" (the one you pull a little string to expose more writing medium). He would lecture me, in good hearted and educational manner regarding what it REALLY means to be a grocer and to be "in-the-grocery-game" as he put it. I Will probably never know if he was truly that serious about being a "Master Grocer" and that I should only be buying from a "Certified (by who?) Master Grocer". As I now very happily live in PA l, home of freedom, where NY/NJ meets America!, I digress a bit. I have to say I love this store. The selection is great and the shelves were all stocked and ready to go. The prices were amazing compared to some stores. The store was clean and the employees all were very nice. The other shoppers were even nicer here than at other stores. I will definitely be back and will definitely recommend Giant. read more

Over the years Giant has been my favorite market to shop in. I recently moved to this area and have shopped here twice. No issues except with the deli section. I placed my order on the computer in the deli department then continued to shop. I heard messages on the intercom saying different deli orders were ready but never heard my number. When I finished shopping I stood at the deli and eventually a guy asked if he could help me I said I placed and order and I'm just waiting for it. He pointed to the end of the deli and said if its ready it's down there. I went to where he pointed to and my order was there great. I did wonder why it wasn't announced, anyway 10 minutes later as I'm waiting in line to check out they said my deli order was ready. Didn't quite understand that but ok, also my deli meats were sliced way way too thin where they fell apart when I tried to pick them up. Poor food options. Prepared food is gross. Staff is strange and not always friendly. Empty or under stocked shelves throughout the store. Produce options are poor and on occasion the produce is clearly beyond its shelf life yet left out for sale. I only go here when I absolutely have to and never so my full food shopping at this place.
