Once at home I opened the hood and found that the fender was not bolted on properly and found 3 loose fender bolts sitting by the wipers. I tried to explain my problem and interest in having him look at my car, but he seemed totally uninterested. I'm not sure if it was my heels, my short skirt or just the fact I was female, but he was incredibly condescending. As the daughter and granddaughter of a mechanic, with years of experience working on my own cars before moving to Boston, he was incredibly flippant, unprofessional and sexist. Not only did he refuse to look at my car, he was incredibly leery and unprofessional. This is a hobby garage and nothing more. This is a terrible garage. I would never recommend it to anyone.

if i had a kid in boston, i would INSIST that harry was the only mechanic working on their car…read more why? because he treats it like every car that comes in his daughter's car and goes above and beyond to make sure it's safe. it doesn't matter what you come in for - he's going to check your tires, top off your fluids, put the car on the lift and inspect the brake lines, hook up the compressor and blow all the leaves out from under your hood, etc. now i'm fairly capable when it comes to car stuff so i don't go to harry because i need babying. i go to him primarily because he does quality work at a fair price, but also because i'm interested in car maintenance and harry not only tolerates, but encourages my "what's that do? why'd you do it like that? what happens if we did this? why can't we do it that way instead? what was that thingy called again? can i try?". now i personally like going and hanging out, but if you want a quick in-and-out then harry's not your guy and you should probably hit up some corporate chain that won't bother you with things like asking about your family, and remembering your name. wouldn't wanna waste time that you could otherwise spend staring at a backlit screen.

I've noticed a real decline in service over the last the past year in the Service Department at Ira…read moreLexus. In past years they have been very customer focused and fair with pricing. I know a Lexus dealer will charge more than independent shops but it wasn't a huge markup, now I feel they are way higher for the same work with the same parts and even double on some services. The attention to detail is lacking too, I had a technician suggest that I purchase a new battery during a service, the problem was that I just replaced the battery a couple weeks before. They didn't even bother to open the hood before they sent the service writer out to quote me a price. The last straw, I waited two hours and 45 minutes for a pre scheduled oil change, which is unacceptable. This was quoted at 60-90 minute, i was one of 4 people waiting for service, it wasn't a busy day. When I received my text to complete an internal survey after the service they wouldn't let me leave my survey with Ira management. So why am I leaving this long winded review? I really hope the Ira Service Department can turn things around for their customers, you could take some lessons from the Ira Service department next door. They have an excellent service Department. Ira management please revisit your service business model and management supervision from last year, something has obviously changed and I suggest you change it back.
