Will say it again - avoid this company!!! On May 31 2022, in the process of them replacing my windshield, the Safelite tech broke my rear view mirror. They informed me that they would replace it. It's now August and I have not heard back from the shop about replacing my rearview mirror. I've called them twice to follow up and both times they said that the part hasn't been received but they would get back to me. It's incredibly unprofessional and unacceptable that I'm the one who has to chased them down for updates. It is obvious that is not a priority for them. We went Safelite AutoGlass 1783 Revere Beach Pkwy, Everett, MA 02149. So happy I took before pictures. They damaged our 2019 Ford Explorer and did not believe me until they saw pictures. Then sent me to a body shop of their choice. If this happens to you fight to pick your own body shop. I had to leave our explorer with the body shop 3 times. Bothering friends and family to follow me there each time. It was a decal that was damaged. My girlfriend needed her back window replaced and her insurance agency would only approve Safelite to do her work. Got car back with glass in trunk and back seat and the rear window defroster not working. Over a month had passed because that it when we noticed it. They would not warranty. Paid local trusted mechanic $100 to pull it apart, he found that they never plugged the rear window defroster back in. read more

I had my car broken into July 28th, used Safelite to fix it and they came July 30th. I wasn't home when service ended so I didn't see till night time that my trunk wasn't latching. August 2nd I brought my car (unsafely with trunk open) drove for 35 minutes to Everett advised by Dorchester location as they said they weren't even going to touch vehicle (they didn't want to be liable for damages). I got to everett and front desk tried everything to fix my trunk- ended up even trying to reset trunk motor but made it worse. I was explicitly advised by Safelite to bring my vehicle to a JEEP dealership(with work order) as the front desk at EVERETT location was unsuccessful in fixing my trunk at the location 2 days after service .. Location manager gave permission to the JEEP DEALERSHIP for appraisal and asked the advisor to send the price of service over when done (nearly 3k because they broke both motors and some other things). Advisor sent price to fix damages- didn't hear back for a couple of days then the manager contacted JEEP and told them I was all set while I'm sitting next to them at the dealership. She then called me and told me to go through my insurance. I said I wouldn't because I wasn't liable for damages. Ever since I have not been able to get any response (even from district manager) and it has been 30 days. It is beyond unsafe to drive my vehicle with a trunk that doesn't latch/close and I will no longer bring it to any Safelite to get it "TEMPORARILY FIXED" with wrap. read more

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had. Both from national general insurance and safelite glass .would not ever ever recommend both of them . Had windshield replaced on my 2020 Cadillac Escalade , national general insurance contracted safelite glass. After replacing it with an aftermarket glass my radar/cruise control would not work. Contacted both insurance company and safelite Both blaming each other. Took m/v to dealership and paid out of pocket for a factory windshield, no problem now all fixed. If I could give 0 stars I would. It's been over 2 weeks since I requested a replacement and they have cancelled 3x. 1st was because they BROKE THE REPLACEMENT, 2nd + 3rd time because of weather. They insist I drive the car (the entire backglass is shattered/gone) in their version of a crash wrap (saran wrap) in the sleeting rain to the shop. That is illegal and unsafe to drive with an obstructed backglass. The man (Joaquin) who told me to do so was very condescending and rude. This is not acceptable. To anyone thinking about doing business with Safelite AutoGlass in Everett, MA: read all of the negative reviews for this Safelite AutoGlass branch before you even remotely consider doing business with these unscrupulous people. I was referred to this branch of Safelite AutoGlass by my auto insurer, after a rock hit the windshield of my car, and created a 4-foot crack in the windshield. My auto insurer, whose glass program is managed by Safelite AutoGlass, made it easy to do business with Safelite AutoGlass. Looks are deceiving! Don't do it! After making an appointment to have my windshield replaced at the 1783 Revere Beach Parkway, Everett, MA branch of Safelite, I searched the reviews for this business and branch on Yelp and Google, and I was horrified by what I read (in retrospect, I believe every horror story that I read, is an accurate reflection of the Everett, MA Safelite branch). I talked to a seemingly kind, caring, efficient gentleman at this Safelite branch, about the reviews that I read, on-line, and he assured me that my experience would be a positive one. My experience at the Everett, MA Safelite branch was positive, until my car was returned to me. Then, I discovered that a light associated with the EyeSight collision avoidance system in my car, which Safelite was paid $500.00 by my auto insurer to recalibrate, was on, and, I discovered that two stickers, that were supposed to be moved from the cracked windshield on my car, to the new windshield that Safelite installed, one of those stickers being an RMV inspection sticker, were not moved over to my car's new windshield. No one from Safelite said a word about that to me. It was left for me to discover. When I contacted the Everett, MA Safelite branch, and advised the person that I spoke with of the above, the same person who assured me of a positive experience, advised me that my cracked windshield was already picked up by Safelite's glass recycling company, and that they could not reproduce my inspection sticker. I asked the Safelite representative what he was going to do about that, and he said, "nothing, it's not our responsibility." I said, "really?" My patience with these unscrupulous sharks was exhausted, so I contacted my auto insurance company. They agreed to arrive at a resolution with Safelite. In the interim, I paid $35.00 to have my car reinspected. Of course, the business that reinspected my car, had been to this rodeo before, with Safelite. I wonder if there is a "Black Market" for RMV inspection stickers, and if the inspection sticker from my car, made it to that Black Market? The tech did not show up two times, then when he finally did he was 2 and a half hours late, said my windshield could not be fixed and scheduled me an appointment at the Arlington location for a replacement. He said I could go any time between 8 and 10am. I get to the Arlington location at 830, the guy tells me I am late, he can't help me and is extremely rude. Truly the worst customer service ever. Dropped off car for a 3.5 hour service and 5 hours later there is NO way to actually get through to where the work is happening or when car will actually be completed. Safelite effectively disabled my cruise control & caused forward collision warnings to go off in my vehicle when they replaced my windshield. It's been a comedy of errors since. The worst windshield replacement ever. I booked them through GEICO insurance. They were more expensive than other vendor, but I thought I would pay more for the convenience as they would come to my house and replace the windshield in my driveway. When they came for the appointment, they refused to do it in my driveway instead they requested me to drive to a nearby shopping center. That was not convenient. I had my windshield replaced in December and 3 weeks ago a piece of my car that covers the edge of the windshield came flying off on the freeway. I called and they said they would order the part and it would be replaced free of charge. I got the email confirming the part and went to the appointment. The first time they left the windshield unscured all the way across the bottom with a big gap...in other words there was an open airspace from the drivers door to the passenger door with air blowing in. I kept closing the windows to get rid of the draft but it did no good. Why does it seem like the windiws are always open???? I gave them the benefit of the doubt...naive me...and used them again...again airgaps, left off the outside molding around the glass, left off the ezpass transponder and the attaching fasteners. Had to go back both times for corrective action...who needs it?! I'm pretty frustrated. I've called the number here as well as the customer service number listed on the Safelite website. It always leads to nothing. The customer service is not staffed and there's no email. We got our windshield replaced at Everett and we've had issues since then. When the tech installed the windshield, I told her there was a fold in the seal and it would probably leak. She said no, it's just the quality of the windshield - a lot of them come like that. But that it wouldn't leak. Sure enough, after this wet summer, I have a leaky windshield. I am sympathetic that everyone is struggling to get staff right now. But at least have an email I can contact. At this point, I want a refund and I'll get another windshield elsewhere. read more

Got a windshield replaced and was left with windshield wipers that no longer worked and a broken hood release cable, which happened to another customer (read below). Hopefully this will be taken care of properly today, but if not further action will need to be taken to resolve this issue. Technicians need to be properly trained and any issues should be told to the customer immediately. This posed a severe safety hazard since we were driving in the rain and come to find out the wipers did not work. Then went to change a bulb and check fluids and could not open the hood since the lever fell out to find that they have severed the cable for the hood release latch. You will be hearing more from us if this does not get taken care of. read more

Long story short: nice people, but won't own up to damages. I went in for a windshield replacement and they were very nice and very timely. I noticed them opening my hood at one point, so I asked the technician, Mike, at the end why they were doing it. We chatted for at least 5 minutes, and opening the hood seemed necessary to put the windshield in; I was totally satisfied. Initially. The next day, I went to my mechanic for an oil change and the hood would no longer open. I drove back to Safelite and spoke to the same technician. Only NOW does he tell me that they had trouble the previous day opening and closing my hood even though we had a full conversation about it the day before. He also told me they really had to force it, and even needed the weight of two bodies pressing on the hood to re-close it. I asked him multiple times to show me how he had opened it, and he refused each time, saying he didn't want me to sit there for another hour and a half while they struggled to close it. Perhaps he knew the hood wouldn't open any longer and didn't want to own up? Who knows. Still, he was a really nice guy and told me to go to my mechanic, which I did immediately after. Upon closer inspection, my mechanic found that the cable connecting the pull-lever to the hood latch was broken. I'm no car expert, but it's clear to me (and the mechanic) that the blame was on Safelite. They were the last party to open my hood (not even 24 hours prior!) and now the cable was snapped. My mechanic called the Safelite customer service number to inquire about compensation/filing a claim, and they told him there was no way to prove it was Safelite's fault and completely denied him. I was shocked, honestly. Then my mechanic called the Everett store specifically and spoke with Mike, who told him it was probably HIS shop's fault! Now I'm stuck with the bill to fix the damages to my car. This is not an outlying experience; after asking around, I found that I have personal acquaintances who also have had their vehicles damaged by Safelite. Perhaps it's because the technicians are only trained in auto glass as opposed to more in-depth car knowledge, and therefore don't really know much about what they're doing in regards to other parts of vehicles. Regardless, I wouldn't be posting this review if Safelite had showed me any kind of courtesy or tried to work with me on the damages. In the end: very bad service, especially on the corporate end. They've certainly lost my business; I know I'll definitely be using another choice the next time I need auto glass repairs, even if my insurance doesn't cover it. My windshield took on a growing crack after some cold weather. I'd scheduled a Safelite drive-to visit for replacement, but had to reschedule after a Customer Service rep informed me that the car cannot be on a lift about 8hrs afterwards to allow time for the windshield to set (I had an urgent brake appointment also scheduled at Firestone afterwards). The new replacement visit was scheduled for sometime between 12-5pm and the repairman arrived around 4:45pm just after he called to let me know he's here. I would really prefer a one hour window to schedule and anticipate a visit since I had to be readied and on standby for 5 hours out of the day. Otherwise my service member was very cordial and informative, and he had the windshield replaced in just about 30 minutes, as mentioned at first meet. He even did extra and taped up my side mirror which had been side swiped a while back. Inconvenient scheduling window, but convenient and excellent service. read more

My cracked windshield was replaced quickly and perfectly and I would use this location again if the need ever arises. Mike was really helpful in explaining my options, including that I could reschedule the repair and go back to my insurance company and request an OEM windshield as my car is less than two years old. I had not known this but opted to just get it done that day with the aftermarket windshield they had ready and which was supposed to be equivalent in quality to OEM. I think they did a superb job and it was pretty fast, so I am 100% satisfied. I will add a couple of things, including what I mentioned above: 1. If you car is fairly new, you may be able to specify to your insurance company that you want an OEM windshield. 2. Safelite entered an incorrect number for my mileage on the order/receipt. They put 31,000 when my car had only about 26,000. I called about this and was told they could not correct and reissue the receipt. A bit disappointing. 3. On the emailed receipt, it says "we vacuumed your car." They did not. I still had the same dirty carpet I had when I brought it in, LOL. This is no big deal but they should not have this on the receipt if they're not going to do it. The big picture, however, is they did an excellent job, were friendly, helpful and fast about it and coordinated it easily with my insurance company. I received text alerts to keep me informed of the technicians arrival time and instructions for contactless service. They replaced my passenger door glass, but in the process, broke the passenger door handle and locking mechanism. The door won't open from the inside. The technician was rushing off because it started raining, but he promised to call em later in the day and return to complete the job / fix it. He never did. I called the warranty department and scheduled a follow-up for them to repair it, and paid $20 parking at my office in Cambridge, where they promised to come out on a Friday (yesterday), but they never showed up. I called yesterday afternoon to see where they were, and the manager asked me to bring my car to the shop in Everett, saying they were too busy. I brought my car here today, paying out even more money in tolls, and after waiting an hour and a half and they finally fixed the door latch, though the lock plunger is still not working perfectly. The manager took care of it himself and was really nice, and did the work himself, but it took forever for what amounted to reconnecting the latch cable, and he was unable to get the lock mechanism working 100%. I've been really nice throughout the process. I haven't complained a single time, and yet the service keeps getting worse and worse. I'm extremely disappointed with Safelite's inability to keep appointments or get the job done right. Safe to say I will never use Safelite again. read more

I needed my rear window replaced. The original installer did not clean up any of the broken glass. I have the pictures of the broken glass on the ground around the car, in the back seat, and in the trunk. The install told my wife he vacuumed "99.9%" of the glass but some would shake out while driving the car. If you don't want to spend hours on the phone getting a second installer onsite, avoid this company. read more

I am not happy with the service that I received from Safelite auto glass I made an appointment with them two Saturdays ago for them to come out and change my windshield they called me on Saturday after waiting one week and told me they couldn't come because they broke my windshield so we made an appointment for the following Saturday which is today they just called me and told me that they could not come out again because their vehicle would not start something is going on I'm not sure but I am very unhappy with the service and I will never use them again two weeks of waiting and now I have to call a different glass company this is ridiculous read more

If you need to replace your windshield avoid Safelite in Everett, MA. The quality of the replacement parts are very bad. I had my windshield replaced due to a minor crack and the replacement glass broke within 24 hours! The installer was friendly and courteous and they have complimentary coffee and water but do not let that fool you. The products they use are of very bad quality and they will break easily. I came back to show them the glass they installed had already a crack and the job was done within only 24 hours, and the Manager made up a story that a pebble hit the glass in order not to replace the glass as part of their warranty as it was low quality replacement and poor installation. He did not show proof of the alleged pebble and simply suggested that it will have to be paid in cash since the first one was covered by the insurance the second one as it happened so quickly will probably no be covered. Just avoid yourself some trouble and choose another Autoglass provider or a different Safelite location. read more
