I showed up with two new window seals for the rear passenger windows in my car which had corroded and needed to be replaced. The man behind the counter first told me "we're too busy" without even considering the job, or offering to make me an appointment. I was able to coax him out from behind the desk to look at my car and take my number to call me when "the person who can make these estimates" had returned. They called back a couple hours later and complained the job was too much work because it involved "cutting out the glass". Refused to provide any kind of quote even when I confirmed I understood it was a different kind of job than a regular windshield replacement. They alternated between "we're too busy" and "it's too much work". Horrible customer service. They don't want your business. Don't waste your time bringing any projects here. P.S. Their front door advertises tinting services; when I inquired about this, he said they don't do tints anymore. The sign would take a few minutes to remove. This is a good indication of the level of professionalism you can expect from Fields Corner Glass. read more

Horrible service. The owner Russ kept me waiting for 5 days on a quote and then gave me a "book" of a text message on how he had headaches so he couldnt get me the quote, but he could write a 3 scroll text message, then after getting the quote I try and sign the contract to move forward with the job they ignored me for 3 days, I called to follow up and he says "O well we are short handed I cant take on any new jobs" my response was dont you think it would have been the right thing to reply to my email and tell me that so I could line up another company, he got angry said I was a jerk and didnt want the job anyway. I am a contractor that could have given them plenty of work but their service is obviously horrible. read more

PAY WITH CREDIT CARD AND ONLY CREDIT CARD! Fast service, but if they screw up (and they will), it takes them forever to fix it. I got my store window fixed by them on a sunday and they came to replace it the same day. That was great. Two days later, the window fogged/steammed up between the glass and called them to come out to look at it. Took them 2 days to come out. And then the guy said "I don't know what's wrong, give it another week." I knew what was wrong just by looking at it - he didn't seal it correctly. Given that they been doing this for 20-30 years, shouldn't they know what's wrong? Took them another week to get an answer when they can come down. I'M STILL WAITING!!!!! Don't go here unless you really need it bad. And if you do, pay with CREDIT CARD so you can dispute if they screw up!! At least then, they may be quicker to respond to complaints. When I asked the woman at the front desk why she tried to charge me double the price (roughly $24/foot instead of $12/foot) she said her calculator broke and then turned her head to ask her husband for the "Other calculator". When I politely pressed her on this matter she got so mad that she did not want to fill my order and asked me to leave. I pleaded with her just to complete the order and promise never to return. I was so mad that I had to do this but I did not have the time to drive all the way to South Boston. So I waited in awkward silence for 20 minutes while the kid in the shop cut the glass. I swallowed my pride despite being deeply offended because I did not have the time travel all the way down Dorchester ave to find a better location. I would very often hear this woman arguing with people and slamming the phone down on people that she is doing business with but I try to be extra polite to her, to stay clear of her distain for seemingly everyone both employees and customers, but when she tried to swindle and cheat me I had to politely call her out on this and it did not work out. Which sucks for me because they are the closest glass supplier to me. They Sleazy scumbags that try to get everybody to pay in cash by "saving you the taxes" so they don't have to pay their taxes and to probably cheat on their own. I should have walked away the first time I did business with them and no one would give me a straight answer on square footage pricing. Live and learn I'm walking away now. My advice? My experience with this business was more like zero stars. They took my old screens and charged $150 for 2 news ones. They measured or made them incorrectly and they did not fit. I said I would like to return them and they said I could not. He said we could keep coming back until we got them right but I told them we were moving and that is not how a professional business operates. Finally a month later my wife went to bring the screens back when we were in town so I could at least dispute the charge on my credit card and they yelled at her until she almost was in tears and refused to give a receipt for the return. So now we have no screens (including our originals) and we paid $150 for this horrible experience. read more

So my truck got broken into the other day as some (fill in the blank) decided to smash my drivers window. They stole my ipod and navigation system and left a mess of glass all over my front seat. I drove home that night and put plastic around my window. The next morning I called Field's Corner Glass and they said bring it down. I dropped it off that morning and they had installed the new glass by lunchtime (it was going to rain that day). They cleaned up as much of the glass in the door that they could and took care of the insurance procedures for me. Overall it was very easy and quick which is convenient for anyone. I would recommend them if you ever have someone vandalize your vehicle! read more

Needed my windshield replaced. It was done quickly but the customer service was very unprofessional. When I picked up my car there was dirt/debris all over the front seats, dashboard, and floors. So I informed them and he got very upset with me and just blew off some of the dirt. I would not recommend this place if you like your vehicle returned in good condition. I noticed the reviews were old and was told by a friend the shop since went under new management. I definitely wouldn't base your decision on the current reviews. At the very least, give them a try. Russell and Ronny really went the extra mile to fix my windshield. The car body had rusted at the seam between the windshield and the roof. They sanded away the rusted and molded a clean pinch weld so my new windshield would fit snugly. I highly recommend this shop. read more

They are great. I brought my Malibu in to have my front passenger window replaced after someone smashed it to grab my TomTom, they installed in less than an hour and the service was so great I decided to have them replace my windshield, which I was going to replace due to cracking anyways. They ordered the windshield and the next morning it was installed. The price was very reasonable, ($160 for window, $213 for windshield...I have a 2001 Malibu) as I had called a few places and was quoted a few dollars higher than Fields Corner Auto Glass. Overall I spent about $370 for both replacements, with very minimal wait time. I'm more than happy with the service, really down to earth people. I would recommend to ANYONE looking for ANY glass replacement. read more

I was relieved when I spoke to Fields Corner Auto Glass this morning - they responded quickly, told me what part to buy (which cost me $75) and said bring it down today. Too bad when I got there they turned me away saying they had too many jobs for the day (10AM). Even when I explained that my window was NOT in the upright position (and snow was in the forecast.) So, I went back online and found another local glass repair shop where they kindly took me in right away. They fixed it w/o even needing that $75 part I bought, and they did it for less than I was quoted at Field's Corner. read more

Service: Window Tinting What I liked: Everyone was nice and polite. They seemed to care that the customer was happy....or so they said. What I did not like: 1. I had to make 3 trips and it still isn't correct. The first time I showed up at my appointed time and he failed to tell me the price advertised was cash only for $225 and if it was credit it would have been $275 (it says right on the website that it's only $225 and nothing about credit only), additionally he said he didn't even know the price was on the website. 2. He talked me into going lighter than I wanted. I told him didn't want to black out my windows but I also didn't want to pay to tint my windows and barely even notice that any work was done at all. He talked me down to the lowest level and said it would be plenty dark (which I admit is the legal limit) however when I pulled up to my car, I wasn't even sure if any work was done at all, it was so light. Also, it was done very POORLY. Sand scuffs along the bottom of 3 out of 4 windows. I told him I wanted it redone, but I wanted it darker. He charged me an extra $125 to redo the windows the way I wanted them done originally and they still weren't installed properly. The insides of the windows were sloppily cut and you can see that they are uneven when the window is half done. Also, there is an obvious scrape in the middle rear windshield that they never fixed. Overall: They get a second star for being nice and courteous but overall the work is sloppy for a second generation family owned company. I can only give my feedback based on the window tinting but I had a very poor experience. read more

I have never written any reviews before, and this is actually my first review, but I felt I needed to this. My shower glass door has very unexpectedly broke one day, simply one morning I woke up to what it sounded like an explosion- broken glass in million pieces . I don't have to say how frightening this was. My first instinct was that the glass needs to cleaned somehow, still big pieces hanging there, and eventually replaced. Not knowing where to even begin, I looked on line for glass replacement places and after few calls and few conversations- I have chosen Fields Corner Glass Co. in Dorchester,. Same morning two man came over and cleaned the glass and secured the area, as well as they have taken the proper measurements for the glass shower replacement. The glass was ordered and installed, as if nothing ever happened. Russell was very helpful with ordering the glass and advised me on my choices, etc. Mike and Billy came and cleaned the broken glass, and installed the new one. They were professional and helpful. They came just as promised, were very courteous and over all I could not ask for a better service. I would definitely recommend this place and service. read more

I had a broken windshield on my new car, it happened on Friday night while traveling behind a dump truck on the mass pike. I went to the glass place on Saturday, they were about to close and told me to come back on Monday. I told the young kid I was going away on vacation with my family and said he would talk to the owner. A guy named Russ the owner came out and told me he would stay open later if he had the windshield in stock. They had the windshield and installed it for me that day. I was a huge relief because we were traveling to up state New York on Monday and my windshield was totally cracked. While waiting I noticed they also do replacement windows. We just moved here from NY do to a job transfer and house we bought in Milton is dated and needs a little work. Russ is coming our to our house in August to give us a quote on the windows.
