I would recommend them. The insurance company wanted to send me to a different glass shop, however I said I wanted "Phillips" because of their location. Location is easy to get to, not far from the Route 1 ramp either north or south. Close to Market Basket and Stop and Shop, getting in my shopping after, saved a trip, this was a plus. Phillips has a parking lot which is convenient with plenty of spaces if you are coming into the shop. They have coffee and tea in the waiting room. Magazines were a little dated but adequate. I called and made an appointment and that is when they order the windshield glass for the replacement. The customer service person at the desk was pleasant and arranged for this appointment. She apologized for the mix-up on the appointment the previous day which came from a different office. The windshield was going to be replaced at my residence but the worker did not show. Be clear on your at home installation, and write down who you spoke with for the initial appointment. The shop worker was careful to take my inspection sticker, parking sticker and oil change sticker off and put them exactly in place on the new windshield. The glass was installed in less than one hour. It is now 2 months, and I have had no problems, leaks, etc. with the new windshield. I appreciated the customer service person at Chelsea fitting me in as well as the glass shop worker. I understand "stuff happens". If not for this, I would give Phillips a higher rating based on my shop visit the next day. My insurance covered the glass so I do not know what was charged. read more

They were sold to Safelite, and they're awful. They have no phone number, and their web site doesn't work. I went through all of the inputs for my License, Plate #, VIN, Insurance policy number, and a bunch of other details that they wanted, and they say "Can't verify with your insurance company, Geico". My insurance is fine, never missed a payment, so now you hvae to start with their online "chat" with someone who doesn't speak English. I have wasted 45 minute on this now. They finally tell me "they don't work automatically with GEICO". Really?? I broke a windshield 15 or 20 years ago, and it was much easier than this. read more

Quick, responsive and qualified.. what else do.you say about a service like this? My car is new, surprisingly the glass was in stock same day, technology glass, since my vehicle.os equipped with sensors and cameras for lane assist etc. Glass was installed in 50 minutes, car was returned in better condition considering clean glass and window stickers were all reapplied without a tear. Courteous professional and clean... even caught up on my Dr Phil in the waiting area.. So... some d-bag decides that they want my sunglasses. And, obviously, my driver's side window is not going to stop them. A brick/stone and what I can only assume is sheer blunt force is all it takes for them to swipe my sunglasses and leave behind a mess for me to clean up. I'm not someone who normally stresses out over stuff like this, but the fact that it was a 20 degree night in January and my favorite $200 sunglasses didn't help the situation much. Driving home that night with no window was insanely cold. Turns out there is a JN Phillips about 5 minutes away from my house. They are so close that I can even walk home and wait for them to fix my car from there. I called in the morning to make sure I could get same-day service, and they told me I could. When I got there, the receptionist was incredibly nice and she got a few bits of information from me and did all the rest of the paperwork -- including filing my insurance claim, etc. I left my car there for the day while I went to work and when I got back to pick it up, it was practically as good as new. Yay! I couldn't fully give 5 stars though, for 2 reasons. 1) they did not clean up the broken glass as well as I would have expected. Months later, I was still finding and throwing out small shards of broken glass bits. 2) The window, while new and matchy-matchy to the rest of my windows, is not "clinging" correctly to my door. You know how when it rains or snows and you can roll your window down and after it's rolled back up, it is clean and all the water droplets are gone? Yeah, my window is not like that. When it rains, even if I roll my window down and then back up, the water droplets are still there. Oh, well. read more

We were greeted with a cracked windshield the other day, totally sucked. However, I put in a call to JN Phillips yesterday and was pleasantly greeted and had an appointment for this morning within 10 minutes. Brought my car in and settled in with a magazine while they fixed the car up, only took about an hour and a half or so. Nice service, friendly staff, prices were not as bad as we thought it would be. Would definitely recommend them to anyone in the area. read more

Last winter my vehicle had a run-in with a frozen tree branch which left a huge crack in my windshield. I finally called in a claim to my insurance company and they offered to set me up with a repair shop and I accepted rather than painstakingly look up something on the Car Talk website or whatever. They sent me to the closet JN Phillips location and I dragged myself and my guy over there at 8 am on a Saturday morning. I dropped the car off quickly with the service guys and we were on our way to wander Everett Ave. on foot, which mainly involved watching trains go by and eating a 3000 calorie brekkie at Burger King. We came back in about an hour and they weren't quite done yet so we waited in the front office. The receptionist was very nice and cool and we chatted with her and one of the repair guys, who gave us some chocolate babka. We learned a lot about Russians that day! Pretty soon my car had a lovely new windshield and the entire process was about as painless as possible. Mr. Babka told me to call him the minute I had an issue with the install but I've had zero problems with the windshield, they did a great job! read more

Over the 3 decades I have been driving I have had the need to replace my windshield several times in my company and personal vehicles. JN Phillips in Chelsea is second to none in terms of service and quality. I really can't comment on price since it is covered by insurance 100%. They were easy to deal with, arrived at my parking lot when they said they would and did a great job in the time they promised. i will definitely call them the next time a rock cracks my windshield. read more

I thought working with JN Phillips was such a great experience, they seemed fast, attentive and really flexible with scheduling. They came to my house Saturday morning, replaced my windshield, and were supposed to replace the "bank glass" on my SUV, which I mistakenly called quarter glass which resulted in them not having the right glass. So, I'm no glass specialist (clearly) but I kind of figured that when I give you the make/model of my car, and a thorough description of the glass that needs to be replaced, I would assume they would be able to accurately decipher what I needed, even though I called it the wrong thing. Not JN Phillips. They said "You said you needed quarter glass, that's what we brought..." ok. It's annoying that now I have to schedule another appointment. It just seems like a preventable inconvenience. I can deal with that. What I can't deal with is the fact that at 3am, when I was driving down the highway leaving work and it's raining, I go to turn on my wipers, and they don't work. I pull over because I can't see. After several YouTube videos on the side of the road, I realize that the tech who put in my windshield failed to tighten the blades and now they don't work. So now at 415am, I'm digging through my toolbox, using the flashlight on my iPhone, the rain pouring, and i had to take the wipers completely off, put them on correctly and tighten them. I was so beyond angry. I own the fact that you learn in drivers Ed to do your 12 point check before driving, and checking wipers is definitely on the list, but my god, aren't they specialists?! Isn't it also their job to correctly reinstall the things they take apart?! And if they were so cavalier with my wipers, were they cavalier with my windshield as well? Now I'm just waiting for the whole thing to crash in and kill me. I'm so disappointed in the half assed job they did for me. Never, ever again. And I'm reporting it to my insurance company, they should be aware of the dangerous half hearted work they are paying for. read more

Great customer service, it was easy to make an appointment for the next day. JN Phillips has the pieces needed for your car, you don't have to wait for a week as they have a large inventory. Jolanda is a sweetheart and my window was fixed in 20 minutes. The technician even cleaned the backseat that was covered in broken glass, I didn't expect that. My windshield started cracking and I made an online appointment over the weekend to have it replaced. On Monday at 8am I got a call from them. I wasn't sure my insurance would cover it since it's less than the deductable, but they arranged for a 3 way call. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was covered. By 10:45 Jay was at my work replacing the window. He was very nice and left the window and the rest of my car in excellent condition by 12:15. We needed to replace a broken door window and all we had to do was drop the car off and it was taken care of. They coordinated the payment from the insurance company so we seriously had to do nothing on our part. Great service and the window looks like before the break. read more
