While I was deciding on frames, they were also helpful in trying to help me be price conscious. Unfortunately it was still really expensive, and that's why I've gone 3-stars. I had a thin, very basic metal frame (they did say wood would be cheaper), so it's hard to see how the value is there for what I paid.

The painting was heavy paint on paper and the paper that was rolling and yellowing from exposure. Ethan created a frame that protected the piece while at the same time honored how the artist wanted his art framed. Ethan was patient, did research and consulted with his other experts. We are so happy with the piece now and know that it will last for generations to come. I highly recommend Bark Frameworks.

I said I was willing to have a conversation over the phone but they requested an in person appointment. It would've been helpful to have that info over the phone so I didn't waste their time! However, the woman I worked with was so kind and understanding. She even put my piece in foam cor, since I didn't have it protected when I brought it in. That was super nice and not expected! This shop is more specifically for frames for "preservation" I was told when I went. Just good to know it's not necessarily for every day framing or even for nice pieces (at least not for me!). I appreciate their kindness though and I'm sure they do a great job!

I ordered a print through Uprise Art Gallery and opted to get it framed through their framer,…read moreSkyframe. I was excited when I received the print and remarked on how well it was packaged for shipment. But when I unpacked the piece, the artwork was damaged. The top corner of the print had been bent/folded. I reached out to Uprise, and they had a new print framed and sent out so I could exchange it. The new framed print arrived in a timely manner....BUT it was not packed as safely, and the new print had a piece of debris/glue residue on the darkest part of the print. So, 2 months and 2 framed prints later, I'm still without a piece of art to hang. Uprise is sending me a single print in exchange for these 2 framed prints and refunded me the framing cost. I'll now find my own framer locally as I don't trust Skyframe. I feel bad for the artist who now has lost 2 prints from his 100 print run.

I got a photo of the framed piece after 3 weeks, but it was not positioned the way I had stated. And it was off center, which I mentioned. Another week and the positioning was closer, but it was STILL OFF CENTER. Good God, they're supposed to be "premier" framers... isn't having the artwork centered kinda like, #1?? Guess "premier" framers don't have to measure. BTW, no apology of any kind for the delay, not even a mention. At least they used the frame I chose. And they didn't damage the piece like happened to some other folks. Goody for that. Otherwise unprofessional and lame. I brought it to another framer I trust to fix it. Should have stayed with the tried and true. Good money after bad.

The same-day framing appointment was helpful because it has sentimental value, and we really appreciated not having to leave the painting at the shop (although plenty of paintings were stored for safekeeping / framing there). It was also super cool to watch Joe and his team do the measurements, mat and glass cutting, and frame assembly by hand with specialized tools. Really happy with the result and appreciate the time and care from this framing team! Would definitely recommend!
