This place is not a repair shop at all -- it's more like a gathering place for robbers. I went there because my radiator had a problem, but they did absolutely nothing to fix it. They simply poured some water into the radiator and charged me $100. What's even more outrageous is that they blocked me from leaving and forced me to pay. The whole experience was extremely unprofessional and felt threatening. I strongly do not recommend this place. Everyone should be very careful. read more

Needed diagnostics done on my motor home, went to their shop and tech read codes (7 of them) said none were active and erased them. Still had a yellow light. My issue was 350.00 for literally 5 minutes and I broke down down once on the road. I broke down in the middle of nowhere and had to have my RV towed 109 miles on a flatbed to get a real diagnostics done and then a repair. They cost me a ton of $$$. I called them and he said he gave me just what I asked for...... he was so matter of fact about it that I got angry with him. I didn't know my wife had called him and he told her not to harass him.... She didn't. This place may do others well but not us. read more

Hit an animal in the middle of the night and got towed to this shop. They were fast to get me looked at. Got the parts right away and had me road ready in 2 hours. The crew in here was friendly and knew what to do. Absolutely would recommend them. read more

Broke down in Vanhorn Texas in my motorhome the owner and operator helped me out in whatever way he could but did not have the ability to work on my transmission . Waiting for our tow to El Paso the owner let us stay in his lot after hours until they arrived and got us to El Paso! Much appreciative to the owner of A&A ! read more

So my husband is a mechanic. He can fix anything. Our moving truck was overloaded. So much so some parts of axel were rubbing on the tire. H says we'll see if the repair shop can add overload springs to the axel. He goes to this shop &, guy consults his workers etc comes back to say that it can't be done. We need a bigger truck, problem is weight. He can't help us. Well he was wrong cuz my husband went to auto parts store himself, got some springs & tools & fixed the problem himself. Soo, maybe this place doesn't have great skills or most likely just lazy to do the work. Probably would be fine doing basic work but who knows. read more

HORROR STORY ... DON'T GET ANYTHING REPAIRED HERE. SERIOUSLY. COST ME $3,000 INCLUDING THE TRUCK I HAD TO RENT TO GET HOME. Be warned and find somewhere else to get your R.V., Truck or Car repaired. Our R.V., broke down going across country to Florida. A&A Repair in Sierra Blanca charged us $780 for the tow, fuel tank flush and fuel pump. I flew in from FL once repaired to pick it up and 25 miles down the road, see smoke pouring out the back, oil gushing out of the engine flowing down the side AND I realized that none of the gauges work now (gas, temp, oil pressure ... they must have disconnected them to put the electronic fuel pump on and didn't reconnect). Made it to A&A Repair in Van Horn where they put an oil cap on, didn't even bother putting oil in it and told me the gauges might not have worked when they got it. THEY ALL WORKED FINE WHEN THEY GOT IT. Sat there for TWO DAYS, having to walk 2 miles from the hotel just to get food etc. No work done on it and they had NO intention of working on it. After 2 days rented a one-way Penske truck to get my belongings out of the R.V WHICH COST ME $1,300!!! My Brother-in-law (who is a bus mechanic!) drove from San Diego to TX with a friend to fix the R.V., and told me they'd left off hoses and vacuums too. He fixed it so it could be driven and told me that the 5 or 6 Mexicans who work there, just sat around, staring, talking and laughing at them while they fixed it. He's taking it back to San Diego, fixing it PROPERLY and we'll split the proceeds. PLEASE BE WARNED, THEY'RE CON-ARTISTS AND UNSKILLED MECHANICS. read more

My sons car 2004 nissan sentra kept stalling out. Check engine light illuminated. He was able to get the car going and found himself at A & A. After checking the car out, the mechanic found out the crankshaft sensor caused the check engine light to come on. He then stated to my son that the fuel pump needed to be changed. I assumed that before making that conclusion he took a pressure test to see if the fuel pump was in fact suspect. I found out later the mechanic never tested the fuel pump, just assumed it was bad. The fuel pump was ordered and the next day was put in the vehicle. When I talked to the mechanic that day I wanted the crankshaft sensor changed. He told me he reset the computer and after a test drive the check engine light did not come on. Well my son left the shop and less than 10 miles the car shut off again and the check engine light came on. My son was able it to make to Sierra Blanca where another mechanic changed the crankshaft sensor. He then drove for many miles where he got to Sacramento, Ca. The car drove fine. What is really sad in this day and age is how people take advantage of other people. I was charged over 500.00 for the fuel pump. When I questioned the amount the mechanic told me the pump cost him 234.00 and the hour labor was 95.00. He charged me double what the pump cost him and the original fuel pump wasn't even broke. .If I ever have to travel on highway 10 towards el paso I know now where not to stop at. I have to say we were pretty terrified about the bad reviews of this place, but when we broke down, this was the place that was open that could work on our diesel. Bill was our main contact and the mechanic that helped us out. We had to order a new alternator and have it shipped to them while we were hundreds of miles away back home. Bill got it put in and stayed in touch over the week until we were able to get back to Van Horn to pick up the vehicle. The shop was closed Fri-Sun for Easter weekend but Bill came in that Saturday and spent his morning with my Husband trying to figure out an issue with some wiring we brought with us. I honestly don't know what we would have done without Bill. The charges were extremely reasonable. read more

My experience was the best considering the circumstances. My 1991 RV (25years old) had a transmission gasket fail. This resulted in a small and scary fire under the rig. Roadside for Progressive Ins towed me to A and A. . Props to A and A specifically Carlos and Bill, for their fast location and installation of the new gasket. Back on the road in six hours. My kids 18 and 17. my 18 year old had her 2 year old with her when they broke down around 2 am towed to this place waited till morning.. Only to be told they could not get to them till 2 days later ! They where no help at all! (Ac compressor pulley broke)I tried calling myself and talked to the manager I had to wait for a call back. 2 hours later they call me and it was only the secretary telling me they could not help .i was only asking for them to help put a smaller belt on bypass the ac pulley but some how they were to busy! I ended up putting my kids up in the motel and diving 6 hours to get them since the uhaul in town does have trucks or trailers ! This is a shit town with shit people ! read more

Our car broke down on Christmas day 2018. We were towed to A&A Repairs who was AAA approved repair shop. It is now January 5, 2018 and no one has even looked at the car. 12 days in the shop without the car even being looked at. We had to take a cab to El Paso and rent a car to continue our trip. We are now returning from our trip and we are still waiting to hear if and when they will ever look at the vehicle. There are other repair shops in Van Horn, Texas. Avoid this one. read more

I'm a "snow bird" traveling from Illinois to Arizona and my Class A unfortunately broke down. Luckily I was at the 140B exit when it happened. A&A was prompt in towing me three doors down to their shop. They diagnosed my fuel pump died and quoted me a repair price. It was mid-afternoon on Tuesday and they couldn't look at it until the next day. They did and had all done but putting my Humpty-Dumpty back together again. The fuel pump was in the tank and wow what a job. I watched two of their mechanics work diligently at dismantling most of the rear end of my coach to get to it. Come Thursday morning they were at it again putting everything back together and the job was done before noon. Too many people traveling don't realize that mechanical things do break down, and usually at the most inconvenient times and locations. Towing is expensive anywhere you are - Big City or a town far less. Too many people are in a hurry to get from point A to point B and blame a shop for not jumping through hoops to get to them right away. Guess I'm just old enough and realize shit happens and if it takes three days for repairs, it takes three days. Yes, Van Horn is a small town but A&A are NUMBER ONE in my book. The final cost was the same as what was quoted me. The workers were chatty with me when I talked to them. Very professional and pleasant. Yes, I was concerned that my options were limited but in the end, I would recommend them to anyone. The only thing unpleasant to this experience were the two local cops that showed up minutes after my coach wouldn't start. They were crude, rood and wanted my RV moved out of the intersection pronto. Was ready to tell them to start pushing! LOL read more

They replaced my coolant pump in one day and they take credit cards. That is the equivalent of a miracle in Van Horn, TX. I would recommend these guys to anyone. read more

We discovered a bad tire on our motor home 3 miles east of Van Horn. Called Coach Net and they sent A&A out to us. Technician could not see the problem so we drove into town and picked up Robert. He listened to the sound and said the tire was bad . . it had been skidded and flattened on one side, much like the sound a tire makes when your car has been sitting for awhile in cold weather, only greatly attenuated on a big motor home. A new tire had to come from El Paso, which was promised in the morning. Indeed it did come. It was pricey, but RV tires are pricey. Goes with the territory. They mounted the tire, inflated to 95 psi, we paid the bill and we left. Robert was very nice and knowledgeable. No misdiagnosis for us. Cruz mounted the new tire. All done professionally with good attitude. The receptionist in the office was very nice to us. We paid what we were told it would cost. Frankly, we had no alternative in this small town but felt it was the best of a bad situation. So not everything about A&A is bad. They worked for us. We had to spend a night in Van Horn, which is like the town in "The Last Picture Show", but the Tex-Mex food at Chuy's was to die for. Home now in Tucson and the tire performed perfectly. Thanks Robert and Cruz. Whatever experiences others have had, it worked okay for us. It was the wrong place to be with the wrong repair needed, but we got the tire, got it mounted and moved on. read more
