Stopping in to use the restroom and gas up. Restrooms are big with many stalls however they did some attention and cleaning. They offer lots of souvenirs for you to choose from. I stopped at the shelf with the crosses and found a few that caught my eye. Computer systems down. Had to wait an hour for someone to come in. While waiting told the cashier most places run the card before turning the pump on. He started yelling at me as if it's my fault that he doesn't know how to do his job. read more

One of the cleanest gas stations in all of Van Horn, Sam's welcomes all truckers, travelers, and locals that desire a good snack & ice ckld brew to stop on in. Shower rooms are available, as well as a decent-sized game room within the back of the building. Parking for long haulers and RVs is sufficient within the rear of the building. I was returning home from a little trip to Amarillo and stopped here yesterday to fill up my truck one more time before arriving in El Paso. I had stopped here the previous Sunday to do the same on my way out and all was well. Yesterday however, there were signs on the pumps saying that I had to pay inside. I went inside and the young girl at the register was on her phone and couldn't be bothered for a while. Once she did acknowledge that I was there I told her that I needed some gas on pump six. She said how much and I told her eight gallons. She replied with; "my math isn't good" so I told her twenty dollars worth and she asked me what pump... I paid and returned to my truck and started pumping. I heard the pump stop sooner that I thought it should have and found that it had pumped five gallons worth. It was then that I looked down at the price per gallon for 87 unleaded and saw that it was $3.99 per gallon. I haven't paid that much for gas, especially in Texas, since 0bama was in office. It was blowing and cold out there so I didn't bother going back in and just wanted to get back on the road again. As I was pulling out, I noticed that the gas prices were not displayed on their signage. Without question, this was the darkest point of my otherwise pleasant trip. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Today at 12pm, I'm sitting in parking lot writing this. Older woman here is a thief. I bought a pack of gum, mints, and a purse that was 14.99. The prices on gum and mints were not listed. She says 28.11. I pay $30 in cash. She gives me coins and I look at them bc I know I should also be getting a dollar. She goes, "Oh, your dollar!" and hands me the dollar. She did not give me a receipt. I went back in to get it, but the line was super long, so I said F*** it. She did not forget. She also definitely upcharged for the gum and mints. This place is a must stop to gas up and stretch your legs, and take the dog out as well. Once inside, take a look around. This little truck stop has some really neat things.
