I appreciated that he took a look at the belt and inspected the rest of the unit. Instead of trying to upsell me, he simply gave me my options including replacing the belt or the unit as a whole depending on what I was most comfortable with. I appreciated his integrity and honesty in letting me know that although it was an older unit he wasn't pushing me to buy a new one since it was in good shape. He only wanted to let me know I had options. He charged me a fair price, right on his estimate and he and his son David replaced the belt, and then went the extra mile for no additional charge in doing some door adjustments and inspected the system again as a whole. We purchased or home before it was built. Our builder installed wooden side gate was already…read morerepaired once and now was sagging, warping and just getting old. It was time to replace it with something sturdier and less likely to warp, shrink, fade. I did a lot of research on what materilas would best hold up to the brutal So Cal summers we have. I also had to keep within the Architectural guidelines of our HOA for fences. I found a company in Orange, CA, called SoCal Gates. I established contact with the owner, Ray, who is a really knowledgeable and personable guy to work with. We scheduled an appointment for him to come to our home to show us color samples of the composite material we would choose for him to use in our steel framed gate. Ray arrived, and had us look at the different colored composite samples while he took his measurements. He then went over with us the color choices and which ones would intergrate best with our home's exterior colors, including the tiled roof and front entry door and garage door. He explained how he visualized the gate would look, once mounted. We agreed on the materials and and the price. He mentioned that his installation pricing included the removal of the gate from the cinder block wall it was attached to, but did not include the removal of the old fence post or the haul away fo the old fence. After hiring another fence company to remove the fence post, back fill with concrete and haul away all of the old fence, Ray told he would've done it had I specifically asked him, for an extra charge. In fact, he told me how to remove the old post myself, so that gave me the impression he would prefer to just to install the gate with the old fence gone and the area prepped for his installation. After the HOA approved my gate plan, It only took a few weeks for Ray to build our gate and to schedule a date and time for the installation. On the day of the installation, I watched Ray assemble and install my agte, He is meticulous and thoughtful throughout his installation process. He showed me how to change out the composite planks if I ever needed to, and how to program our electronic lockest. We are very happy with out new sturdy, side gate. I would recommend anyone needing a new steel framed gate with composite planking to contact Ray.

We just had our gates installed by SoCal Gates, and Ray was super easy to work with, he quoted us our price, and gave us several options for the project. When it came to installation he was very quick. Got to our home first thing in the morning and finished the project in about 3 hours. Our new gates look beautiful.

I was referred to this place by a friend. I went there today and there was an employee threatening a customer and wanting to fight him. The place was very uncomfortable and unprofessional considering this person was a customer and the a-abbot employee knew i was there and didn't even take that into consideration that there were other customers in the store, he continued on with his cursing and wanting to fight the older senior citizen man. If i were the owner i would address this issue asap as they may have ticking time bomb on there hands which can be a big liability for this company. The employee seem to have some anger management issues! BEWARE OF THIS GUY HE IS A WHITE MALE IN HIS MID 40'S WITH A GOAT-T AND GLASSES. I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED, BUT WHAT I CAN SAY IS IF YOU PISS HIM OFF HE IS GOING TO WANT TO FIGHT YOU. Again this was my first time there and will be my last time there. read more

I broke my car key. I was looking for a place to be able to cut and program a new key for my car rather than going to the dealer and paying high price. I knew A-abbot lock smith is on Katella and 55 FWY but I wasn't sure if they can do this for low price. When I got there I had to wait few minutes. There were few customers ahead of me. I spoke to Jim and he said I can cut the key but I have to check to see if I can program it. All he asked me was my car's year built and type and he worked on it for 15 minutes and he came back with a new key. I was very happy and thanked him for saving me $240. I recommend this place for any lock or keys, specially for car key. Go there first and hopefully you can save lots of money too. They are honest and professional. They can tell if they can do it or not and charge you a reasonable price. read more

Modern equipment and technology with knowledgeable customer service. Jim fielded my phones call inquiries to perfection. He assisted me with a quick look-up of the key I needed for a broken vehicle key. We arranged for my visit at the least busy time of day. I didn't have a spare and he recommended a shell to house the existing one that was in pieces. I ended up with two brand new keys that will last for another 10 yrs. We needed to get 2 spare keys cut and programed for our Mustang GTP. The keys are part of the Ford active Anti-Theft / Securilock system. If the chips aren't programmed correctly the car won't recognize the key. Three attempts to start with a bad key and the system is designed to disable the car by frying the security module. And the last thing I needed ($$$.) The dealership wanted a lot of money and the car for a couple of days. A-Abbot Locksmith Justin cut and programed 4 spare keys in less one hour at way less than half of what the dealer wanted for the 2 key job. That saved me hundreds. This locksmith shop is amazing. Everyone is professional and oh so friendly. I made a mistake with keys I had made for my family. I had several made to our mom's place and they didn't work because I didn't realize the entrance to her building had a door frame that wouldn't accommodate the key I had chosen. I immediately called them and although they had officially closed for the day a few minutes earlier, they told me to go by and we'd choose another type key. Electronic keys are very expensive, my truck key frame broke, so I bought a new one online, I took it to Jim and he scanned the old worn key and cut my new key perfectly to factory code instead of copying the old worn out key! Jim also provided me with the factory key code I will need to replace my lost spare key, if I have an issue before it is replaced Jim recommended I store the code in my locked phone. Now as long as I have my phone I can get a replacement key A-Abbott will also program and cut customer keys and also provide complete factory replacement keys. I like options, thanks Jim read more

Jim who is an employee for this company has harassed and threatened me and my business. I also want to note that Jim is driving around in a JC McGee Truck while servicing under this business, while claiming he works for the township. he's vandalized property, verbally assualted store owners and police and used his authority to take advantage to violate and harass people. I recently bought a used truck and it came with a tow hitch lock. The salesman did not have a key to unlock it so I had to either break it off or hire a locksmith. I went to A-Abbot and met Jim. He walked out to the parking lot with me and looked at my tow hitch. He was very honest and told me I didn't need a key. Turned out the company that makes the hitch locks fabricates them so the truck key can be used to open the tow lock! Jim was very friendly, knowledgeable and honest! I got a new car key from them less than 7 or 8 months ago. It stopped working for no reason at all so I took it back and all they told me was it was a dead key. No help, no solutions.
