The dealership recommended A-Abbott Locksmith when they weren't able to provide me with a new car key for my very old car. I was a little skeptical so I asked a local policeman on the street if he had ever heard of A-Abbot Locksmith. I was impressed because the policeman was able to direct me exactly to where it was. So I figured since he knew where it was and didn't say anything bad about it, I would go to A-Abbott since I had had a previous locksmith quoting astronomical prices for the key and services I didn't need. So it was nice that A-Abbott was straigt forward, and pleasant, and was able to make the key that I needed in 20 mins.The shop was busy but the customers and employees were pleasant and efficient so I felt like they knew what they were doing and understood what I needed.Thank you for the good service! read more

Terrible service! I walked in and a few people walked in after me. Jim himself was at the counter. I gave him 2 sets of keys for 2 different cars and asked politely if he could duplicate for me...Jim said sure... but had very bad manners! Spoke to me very rudely... I just thought maybe he was tired... He quoted a price and said "One at a time!" "One at a time!" "One at a time!" Then asked me to park my car in a no parking zone behind the store...when I returned I was ignored for quite some time while Jim chatted...Thankfully I decided to take my business elsewhere and found a much better place in Garden Grove with excellent service and it cost half the price!!! I can not say enough good things about this company. I was a new customer with a garage door that could not be opened as lost both remotes & key. After calling a local garage door repair they said tearing out door & replacing it was only option & quoted me $900 + cost of new door. I called A-abbot next. They could not get it open on first svc call, so did not charge me for visit....$0.00. The tech told owner Darren about my problem & he said he would try, quoted a fee which he would only charge if he fixed problem. He came out an hour later, & worked a true McGyver type miracle. The charge was minimal considering what it took to get door to open, programmed 2 new remotes & installed a keypad. Darren & his tech Matt were such nice guys who truly cared about fixing my problem. & It was going to be another no charge if the couldn't fix it on the 2nd visit. Turns out the manual key disengage had been installed incorrectly. A-Abbott Saved me a LOT of money. Best customer service ever, & I highly recommend them. read more

I called A-Abbot based on NextDoor recommendations. I talked to John on the phone about my problem (front door lock broken and needed two other doors done), and he said he could come out and try to fix the lock or if I wanted to buy new hardware, he could install it. I decided to buy new hardware and went to the Ace hardware store that he recommended. John then came out to install everything and noticed that Ace had made an error in what they sold me. He called Ace and explained the problem, which I wouldn't have been able to explain. Ace was apologetic and said they would provide the correct hardware. While John kept working, I went over to get the correct hardware. When I got home John was almost done and once he had the replacement hardware he finished quickly. John was very helpful, gave me great recommendations, and completed all work professionally. I highly recommend John at A-Abbot's services. read more

I got some bad advice from them; I needed a key for a car that had a factory chip in it. They said that I could give them a code from the car and the ignition switch (which I removed) and they could make the key and add the chip coding. Then I looked in the specific place they told me to look and there was no code. I called the dealer and they told me there is no code on the car and no one could do it without the car. Called A-Aabot back and they said to have the car towed to them and the service would be $125 (same as the dealer at this point). $60 to have the car towed there. Now it's the weekend so no car for the weekend. Monday they called and said it was ready. So far all of this was a pain, but here's the real reason that I give only one star: the man behind the counter was soooooooo rude to me and my family that I will never go back. He was in his fifties, big gut and very short gray hair. He treated me like a kindergartener and like he was the smartest man alive. Then, the same rude person tried to charge me 148 instead of 125. I am willing to forgive the error in the code, willing to forgive the extra days the car was there, but I will never forgive the TERRIBLE treatment from the angry counter person who referred to himself as the manager. Advice to A-Aabot: get rid of this person and your company will be better off. read more

I had lost my ignition key for my 2001 Altima..which is very frustrating because the key has a transponder in it and I thought that I was going to have to pay a ton of money to get it replaced. I called A Abbot and did not leave a message but received a call back within minutes from Scott..He was very kind and helpful and informed me that I needed to talk to Dennis who could tell me if they had this key in stock. I then called Dennis who was also very kind and courteous.Dennis sent out a technician within in minutes of our phone conversation. The technician Matthew Stephenson was a very nice young gentleman who had my car up and running within just a few minutes. The whole price for them to come to me and replace the key was very inexpensive..I am going to recommend this business to everyone I know..More businesses should follow their lead because WOW they are awesome. Buying a smart key for the third generation (2010+) Prius with Moon/Solar roof option is quite an adventure. Toyota made it extremely confusing to get a replacement smart key (depends on manufactured date). Took me a long time to find the right part number, and even that, you still need to tell the vendor you want one with the A/C button on the fob, not the "Trunk" (it's for Toyota Highlanders). But then, most of vendors will not accept return so it's was still risky to order one. For that reason, I tried to let a Locksmith to handle the whole thing, including buying the key set and program/cut the emergency key. That didn't go no where, wasting 2 weeks. I decided to buy the key myself from Keylessride with a decent return policy. Actually, Keylessride recommended Abbot for service. Before the key arrived, I'd called Abbot and asked for the cost of the programming and cutting the emergency key. They quoted me $52. A week later, I called and showed up without mentioning the quote or asked for the cost. They spent about 10 mins programming the key fob and cut 2 keys and charged me $52. The consistency shows me that their pricing policy is straight forward and they are an honest company. You would think $52 is quite a lot for 10 mins of work but trust me, that is the lowest price I found, especially in the middle of OC. read more

I called A-abbot locksmith this morning and was met with one of the most pleasant experiences I've come across. Steven who answered the phone was incredibly kind and helpful. He asked for all of my information and needs and got me put on the schedule for this afternoon. About 30 minutes before the estimated window I received a phone call from their tech Matt letting me know he was on his way. Matt arrived when he said and did and amazing job. He was extremely knowledgable of his profession. He and I waked my home showing him what I needed and asked for suggestions on what could help make our home more secure. He not only fixed everything I needed but point out weaknesses. He never once tried to up sell me he just identified problem areas and made suggestions. Dropped my last Lexus master key off of my yacht into the pacific (haha, but really). I thought I was sunk, but I was able to get the key code from Lexus for the master cut and within 3 minutes of cutting time and 30 seconds of programming time I had myself an expertly cut new key that worked great. Had a problem with Fire Department about an existing lock on a door, and Martin called from the job site to let me know our lock was not a problem, it was up to fire code. worst experience ever. wanted a key cut for my volkswagen, two actually. the big fella got petty when i told him that i just needed my keys cut for the specific year. he wanted to charge so he can program it to the car. we said no thank you we already have someone for the job just need the keys. got a little saucy but did the job anyway. now he cut the key and the car lock didn't turn. we knew that without the key programmed to the car the engine wouldn't start because of the immobilizer but at least the door had to open and close. it was cut wrong and he said it was because he needed to see the car like we gave the original key what does the car have to do with the key in this scenario. we went with another and he cut the blank key perfectly and the "cut" one too. they open and close my door. at a decent price too my good people. these people are huge skimps and think they are the only ones around. do your research and remember theres always a cheaper price. worst place and i know ill never get my money back. but karma exists. don't like when businesses want to stack more things that we didn't ask for. change those faces too you are running a business. thank you very much for listening to my opinion and give other businesses a shot. trust me one key here can get you two keys elsewhere. with the job done perfectly. read more
