I loaded all 40 of them into my Claude AI program and asked the AI to tell me which one was the best. Which one had the highest ratings and had no bad feedback. It came back stating that 5 Star Backflow was the BEST of the 40 approved companies! I then called Josh, the owner of 5 Star Backflow, and he and his team worked around the clock to help me because I was up against a deadline. His communication with us was spectacular and thanks to him our water did not get cut off. We even had a complication with the backflow valve being broken, but he got it taken care of and he went way above and beyond to help us. I wish I could give him a 100 stars, because he is the real deal and he deserves a great review. If you need a backflow company, 5 Star Backflow is the absolute best! Thank you Josh!

I've been using 5 Star Backflow Services for my required city backflow inspections for years now…read moreand I've always been happy with the service, so it's probably time for a review. Once they had me in their system, they started contacting me in advance to schedule the test each year, which I really appreciate since the city notice doesn't usually give a lot of turnaround time. This year the city surprised me by sending the notice a month early, and I was on vacation when the notice came. This left me with just over a week before it was due. I contacted 5 Star Backflow Services and they were able to do the test just a couple days later. After the test they always send the report directly to the city within 24 hours. I have been very pleased with the service. Thank you!

Oh, but you have no idea whether that's this week, next month, 4 months from now - who knows! Not Backflows Northwest. I called them to make sure the rates were accurate, and to get an idea of when they would do the test. The guy was super nice, and he said he'd do the test on Wednesday, and they said they'd leave a note on the door when it was completed. They did it a day early, and left the note on the door just like they said. This was exactly the ideal experience in my opinion, so I strongly recommend them!

The company then billed me over $75 for the test that was never performed. No matter how much I argued or what proof I provided they demanded payment. I've been a customer of Certified Backflow Testing for nearly 20 years. I didn't leave over price…read moreor convenience. I left because of how they handled a mistake. After their technician serviced my backflow preventer this spring, my irrigation system stopped running. I didn't realize it right away. By the time I noticed, my lawn had already browned out and some plants were damaged. When I raised the issue, it took 2-3 weeks of back and forth to get nowhere. Certified Backflow didn't put the valve back to how they found it, which was in working condition. Their procedure states they restore valves to the position in which they are found, but they did not follow this procedure and won't take accountability for it. Management's first response was to hide behind policy rather than acknowledge what happened. They did send their GM out to look at the damage, which I appreciated. But even after seeing it firsthand, they couldn't provide any evidence that the technician left the shutoff valve in the correct position, and they offered nothing toward the damage caused. Mistakes happen. I get that. But after 20 years, I expected better. Finding a new provider.

After the work was completed, I was told the report would be sent to the city and I would get an invoice later for the work since there was an additional device that needed to be tested. I of course said ok and thought nothing more of it. Fast forward about a month later. I had already forgotten this issue since I was expecting an email. I get a letter from the city saying my test was incomplete and that my water will be cutoff soon. I called back and was told they had forgot to submit the report and they would do it ASAP. There were no mention of the second device cost so I thought maybe they were going to throw it in for free since there was a lateness. I of course then get an email with the invoice for the additional device and finally a few days later I think I was cc'ed on the report sent to the city. Now, if I had been out or didn't check my mail for a while I really could have my water turned off and I think that even affects my credit? That's not good.
