Initial Review: Driver arrived and demanded an extra $30 cash fee to move my car from my garage to the street, despite me informing the company beforehand that it was in the garage. I declined and offered to push it out with my brother. The driver instead pushed it out himself and later demanded payment, which I again refused. He acted hostile, refused to let me ride with him, and made the experience unpleasant. This was my first tow and the lack of upfront communication, along with the aggressive attitude, makes me confident in saying I'd never recommend this company. Update: After posting this review, the manager called and apologized for the driver's behavior. He explained that charging to move the vehicle so it can be towed is against their policy. He also said they'd reprimand the driver and install dash cams on all their trucks to make keep their drivers accountable. While I appreciate the apology, it came across more like damage control than a genuine effort to understand what went wrong or prevent it from happening again. It felt like pressure to get me to change my review, not true accountability. That said, I'm updating this to two stars because I hope this isn't how the company normally operates. If they follow through on these changes and more customers share positive experiences, they may well deserve a second chance. For now, this is still my experience, so keep it in mind if you're considering their service. read more

A-1 towed my Land Rover to repair shop without me experiencing any issues. I was skeptical due to job request was via insurance app. The tow driver Tony called to say he will be arriving in 10 minutes to meet at my home, yet he arrived before me and waited patiently for my arrival. Long story short, my truck was parked in my garage, Tony had to be innovative using jumper cables and a jump starter pack simultaneously to get truck started. He took his time loading truck on tow bed and ensured my truck would arrive safely to repair shop. I'm not sure of A-1's history with customer satisfaction but Tony was truly professional, caring and is an asset to A-1 Towing & Recovery. read more

Company was selected by insurance for a tow. They flagged as arrived but were not in the area. After 20 minutes I called and they said they were working on it. Okay cool. Don't say you "Arrived" in my insurers app then. read more

My vehicle was mistakenly taken to an incorrect location, and the keys were entrusted to an unfamiliar individual. Upon contacting the designated establishment, I discovered that they were closed until 7:00 AM the following day. Manny has been evading my inquiries for an entire week. I have yet to receive any communication from the owner, Mo. I am demanding a full refund. I contacted the establishment again today and spoke with Jay, who has claimed to be Manny and now Jay. I have repeatedly called twice daily for eight days. Currently, Jay is insisting that I be charged for the inconvenience of dropping off my vehicle at the incorrect location. I find this request unjustified, they are charging me for their mistake with no refund. What an unprofessional company. read more

Oak Forest My car was picked up and taken to the wrong location and keys was placed in the hands of a total stranger. When I contacted the location, they were closed until 7a the next day. Manny has been giving me the run around for a week. I have Not heard from Mo the owner. I want a Full REFUND $240I called back today and spoke w/Jay who has claimed to be Manny and now Jay. Poor, poor attitudes. As a woman, I do not know the details of a tow. I needed a car towed and my insurance selected this company. The driver first arrived saying he didn't see the car and then hung up. The driver's cell phone wasn't working so he's screaming in the phone and then began texting. Finally, my husband called and he said he needed the keys (even though I've had vehicles towed without keys being needed). I called the company number and asked why the car keys were needed and whom ever answered was rude as he$$. Shouldn't use your cellphone as a business number if you're not going to be professional at all times. My husband began to take a drive to give the keys and then the driver texted saying he's in route to the repair shop (he was able to get the car on the truck). So yes, leaving this review and I hope that it helps with customer service. read more

Today on 10/9/2019 Moe from A-1 dispatched a tow truck for me and they were there in 20 minutes and the driver got the job done promptly. A1 Towing Service in the South Suburbs of Chicago, and their dispatcher, Moe and drivers are very dishonest. They stole a tow from my AARP Emergency Road Service on May 3, 2018. They were suppose to pick up my vehicle at 8:45 am, but never came out, neither did they call my phone to communicate with me. Come to find out they had the wrong phone number. Nonetheless, they are getting paid for a 13 mile tow, they did not attempt to provide. They are steal towing service from emergency road side customers, using the, "they got a disconnect phone number", when they called me. Public Beware! DON'T USE THEIR SERVICES! read more

The worst road side assistance company ever!! If you want someone to put the spare on incorrectly, not fill the tire with air and tell you it's safe to drive. Then you drive less than one mile and you are back driving on a rim and the company essentially tells you, you are on your own. Then this is the company for you. This is the second time in a year this towing business A-1Towing Midlothian has been sent to me. First time some small Italian looking guy came out and had my truck jacked up and Boom it fell then later I heard some knocking which they deny any damage was done. This second time they were dispatched to pick up my car to bring home from a auto business. This black man James was horrible. He called me with an attitude then after explaining I was to meet him at home not at the business he got the car and cane to my home and pulled up lowered the truck and my car rolled off so fast and he jerked the car hitting the brakes and the front end of car scraped the edge of tow truck. I wish I had taped it. I asked his name and told him how nasty he was and he said Im doing you a favor towing this car. He also says this is just how I talk. Being a senior citizen I was a little intimidated but wasn't going to let him get away without letting him know how unprofessional he was acting. I reported him to the main office. I don't recall getting an apology but I say do not use these unprofessional people. If they do your car any way in front of you imagine what's happening when u aren't there. read more
