Kustom Towing was blocking ingress and egress into and out of property for a lot of vehicles, when on a neighboring job site. When we approached the driver, his response was not helpful. When we called the office, a gentleman was extremely unprofessional, rude and lacked competence to begin to answer basic questions. If I can give this company no stars I would!!! This company is honestly so disgusting. They do NOT work with you. All they want is money! Plus they have the most nastiest attitude ever. Even after paying to get the car out he still didn't want me to have help to move it or let another towing company help me take it out after paying it. The guy was honestly going to let me and my 56 year old mother push the car out of the lot rather then let the towing company she had there to help her in the Lot to move the car. And this was after she paid to get the car out. The guy even told my mom the only way he would let her take her important information out the car is if she paid $250 first. If your looking for a towing company do not go here. They are only worry about making money more then helping customers. Very disappointed!! Dave, When Yelp sent me a notification that you responded to the review I posted 8 months ago, I was hesitant to read it but I read it anyway. Your lack of professionalism is further illustrated in your response further emphasizing my complaint. My issue was your lack of professionalism and empathy, not what you charged. I stated that the entire ordeal would cost about $700 and it did. Yes, your portion of the cost was not $700. Having a vehicle impounded is an expensive ordeal and your attitude made it worse. I have 3 sons and this was not the first time one of my cars was impounded. This was the third time on 6 years that it was impounded but the first time it was held in your lot. The other two lots, also contracted with police departments, only required me to provide the impoundment receipt issued by them and my state issued ID. I asked why you required a bill of sale and you did not want to tell me. You also told me you would not release my vehicle to me if I walked to your facility. You said you needed to see me get out of a cab which I also found questionable. Again, you did not want to answer my questions. I do not appreciate your misleading post stating my vehicle was impounded due to driving on a suspended license implying that I was the driver and, therefore, a criminal which would taint the validity of my assessment of your business. I doubt that you remembered me or how much I paid that day. More likely, you looked up my name and the date of the tow. You were rude to the elderly couple in your office that day too. I will continue to spend my money with companies that treat their customers respectfully. read more

I was turned away because Dave (front desk) needed to know how i got there & who dropped me off he mentioned I needed 2 valid drivers licenses (the drivers license belonging to the person who dropped me off and the one I was going to use to drive the vehicle off the lot) if you were dropped off by a rideshare they need to see your uber/lyft receipt. No where on their webpage does it state that 2 drivers licenses are needed to pick up a vehicle im not sure why this is a rule. Its unheard of, they should only worry about ensuring you meet compliance in presenting them the required vehicle paperwork thats need for the vehicle in their possesion. When i told Dave he did not need to worry about who dropped me off and i didnt think it was necessary for me to present another drivers license he became combative and assumed this was probably the reason my vehicle was in the tow lot in the first place because im being driven around by people without a valid drivers license i couldnt believe the odasity and replied excuse me, he then replied yeah what i said! I called the police department to let them know Dave did not want to release my vehicle despite i had all of my paperwork and informed them he is more concerned about how i arrived which is irrelevant. Dave also referenced I needed to buy new plates i asked why and his smart remark was because you need plates to drive a vehicle but i was questioning where my plates were? He mentioned the police department took my plates which to me was like i shouldnt have to buy new plates as long as i show my plates are valid i dont see why they would be held against me and confiscated thats an extra expense i do not need. Its upsetting enough that you have to go through the expense of having a vehicle impounded and still have to deal with people like this. read more

So my car was towed here after an accident on a Friday night. I didn't have enough foresight to take out my keys at the accident site. The next morning after being released from the hospital my key were still in my car at the tow yard. I called since they only did appointments on weekends. An employee was there in 15 minutes. So I had no clue how much all of the fees were. I called and picked my jaw off the ground upon hearing them. The owner was really kind. I wasn't able to pay the whole amount so he worked with me to figure out what I could do. He helped to take pictures for insurance purposes and allowed me to get everything out of the vehicle. I had my car towed there after a minor car accident and a flat tire. My boyfriend and I couldnt get the tire off because apparently now a days they have a lock on the bolts so no one can steal ur tire. We recently just purchased the car and were not given a key. The owner (i think he was the owner) went out of his way to break into the tire bolt and changed our tire. He was really plesent and easy going. Every one of the employees, including the two owners, have been kind, trustworthy, and quick to arrive. I have used Kustom 4 times over the past 24 months between my two cars, and I won't use anyone else. When my insurance company national hotline said they would have someone out " in no more than 2.5 hours", I took matters into my own hands and called Kustom directly. They had a nice flatbed truck and a courteous driver out on a subzero night within 45 minutes. This place is a complete rip off. I have had the severe misfortune of having to deal with this place 2 times over the last couple of years. Summit police uses this place to tow cars that need to be removed from an accident. Unfortunately 2 of my children have been in accidents where Summit police called out these theives to tow away our cars. In both instances they have basicly extorted money out of me. Over $470 to tow each car approximately 1 mile on each occasion several years apart. Either we payed the crazy fee or I surrendered my title and then still had to pay them $175 on one car and $50 on one a few years ago. They take advantage of the fact that you can't just drive the car off their impound area. And to add insult to injury Dave is rude, impatient and generally a real asshole when you ask questions. Going so far as to act like he is doing you some kind of favor and to even state he is doing you a favor by charging crazy fees and then forcing you to turn over the title to a car that he has to tow to take it to salvage and make money off of it by scraping it. I mean really you have to tow it big hardship since you own a tow shop. He probably sells the car for parts himself or fixes them and resells. Don't give this Shister your business. They have to be in some kind of business with Summit Police. The police just automatically call these theives out if your car seems undriveable. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
