Excellent sharpening, fair pricing. I'm from out of town so I appreciated the quick turnaround, thank you.

Excellent service. Highly recommended. Have been going to this place quite a few times now to resharpen all my kitchen knives.

Repaired a ding in my bread knife blade that I thought was a goner! Quick service at a great price!

Great service, affordable prices and superb customer service. I walked into the front office area and was greeted immediately by Steve. Very knowledgeable and was a pleasure to speak with. In total he sharpened 4 kitchen knives (2 Dalstrong, 2 Shun) - He also fixed a broken tip on a Spyderco Para 3, put a new edge on 2 benchmade pocket knives & 2 additional Spyderco's. They came back sharp as ever! Before, I was sharpening manually, but it's just so much work. Thank you Steve! read more

I have had my sewing scissors sharpened here. They are perfect. Friendly, competent service, fair pricing. Couldn't be happier.

A-One is the BOMB! I brought this skilled craftsman a 60+ year old Cutco knife with a LOT of sentimentality, as it had been in my husband's family for decades. It used to be a serrated knife, but grandma sharpened it herself for years until there were no longer any serrations. Cutco wanted to replace it, but we wanted to keep grandma's knife alive. A-1 leveled and sharpened the blade so it cuts amazingly even without serrations. A-One also sharpened several of grandma's vintage Japanese cleavers sharp enough to mince paper. The family Samurai tradition continues! read more

A-1 Sharpening Service & Repair - Vintage Henckel Twin Carver - Knife Sharpening Near Me - Clovis, California

Quick friendly service. In/out, brought 2 knives and he had them done quickly and I was on my way.

So after reading nothing but stellar 5 star reviews about how Steve owned a great sharpening and repair business I decided that I would bring in 3 of my nice expensive pocket knives to be sharpened. Now my knives still cut through paper but needed a little touch up to make them glide through paper. He ended up removing way too much material from all of my knives. Didnt take the time and care that I would expect from a "Professional". He ruined 3 of my favorite pocket knives, each of which cost upwards of $260.00. Not happy at all. I would come here if you have super dull cheap knives that you don't care about here. Pros- Cheap Fast Sharp Cons- Uses power polishing wheel removing way too much material. Didnt take the time or care expected from a professional. read more

Nice guy. They were ready as scheduled. They're sharper than they were before but nothing to compare them to but I'm really happy that I have sharp knives again. read more

Fast service, courteous, and job well done. I recommend A-1 for all of your sharpening needs.

I've been going to A-1 Sharpening for decades with my horse clippers and he does excellent work. Sharpening, cord repair, you name it. I never considered taking my sewing scissors to him before because my experienced sewing friends said to only have a "sewing" guy sharpen them. Our scissors are expensive! So, I had them sharpened at the truck that used to come to Hancock Fabrics years ago, they've never been sharpened before but still cut great, and lo and behold he ruined them!! OMG!!! Are you kidding me!!!! All this time I couldn't bare to throw them away or take them anywhere else. I mean at least 5 years have passed. I finally decide to take them to A-1, and I tell him my horror story with the scissors. I need to be able to cut t-shirts, jeans, silk, and they have to work and they don't, they skip, it's awful. I have to tell you I am so overjoyed right now I almost can't stand it. They cut like butter and are effortless!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! read more

Took my fiancé's knife that belonged to his grandfather to get sharpened. It was super affordable and he did it in about 5 minutes. Coming back every time. read more

So pleased that I found A-1. Brought my knives in..he did one right away so I'd have it that evening and the rest were done the next day. Fast, reasonable, great service! When I returned I brought a sterling silver spoon that had a run in with the garbage disposal and asked Steve if he could make it "not sharp." Right then and there he smoothed it out and now one can eat with it again! No charge. This is the place!!! read more

I'm a cosmetologist and I always drop off my tools to Steve for some servicing. He never disappoints!! He got them done in 4 days while I was out of town! If you need any thing sharpened, A-1 Sharpening is definitely the place to go! read more

Great, fast service! I was expecting to leave my 7 kitchen knives for at least a couple of days. They were in really bad shape. Steve went over them all about five times and brought them back to life! Highly recommend read more

Steve, Thanks for the great turnaround time on my slicer blade. It works better than when it was new! After reviewing the reviews here, I thought why not I will ship them my blade and see the results for myself. Just as everyone here says they are great. Steve was personal and friendly. I am now looking for my old saw blades to see if they can bring them back to life. Steve said to send him a picture of the blades first to make sure they are worth the shipping cost. What a strong play by an honest business. Thank you again read more

I shave my head almost 3x a week w/ a quality clipper (Oster Model 76, ones barbers use). I have to keep them nice and sharp. It has gone dull and I was looking all over for a place to sharpen them with. I called this place and Steve, who is the owner I believe, said just bring it in and he'll take care of it. The blade piece have broken off but I brought it to him anyways. Upon arrival, very friendly guy, looked like he was pretty busy, but was attentive once I came in. I told him about the broken piece, he took a quick look at it, took something apart. Bottom line, he knew what he was doing. he saw a broken piece there and said he can replace that no problem. It took him no less than 30 minutes to sharpen my blade. He returned my clippers like as if it was brand new. Cost...$7 plus tax which came out about $9. I had to test it out and holy cow, just one time going over my head and done. Loved the quality and fast service, loved the workmanship. This guy is the only one in town you should go to for anything that needs sharpening such as knives, clippers, lawnmower blade, axe, whatever needs sharpening. Although I don't recommend pencils lol I will definitely be back. read more

A-1 sharpening has been in business for years! I love this place! Steve is always very friendly and professional. These guys will fix any of your broken grooming equipment or sharpen your stuff at a very affordable price! They also sell some shampoos and other kinds of grooming equipment. Making it easier to get your hands on stuff rather than going online and paying shipping and waiting for it to come in the mail. I have been in the business of dog grooming for over 10 years and I will always trust my equipment with Steve and Bob. Always comes back clean and sharp! As if I just purchased it brand new! Even if your blow dryers or cage dryers break down they can fix that too. They're both very handy. If you have yard equipment or kitchen cutlery they fix that too. If you blenders fuse blows out, don't buy a new one! Bring it in to these guys! If your lawn mower isn't cutting right they can fix it! Plus there's nothing better than supporting a local shop that's been in the industry for years! These guys are pros! read more

This guy is the best! I come a few times a year to get my blades and shears sharpened! Always friendly and efficient!

This business had such great reviews that I tried them out, as I promised my wife to get all her kitchen knives sharpened before the holidays. They did an amazing job! Only got charged $5 a knife which is really reasonable...quick turnaround on the first set...the second time I came in with 3 knives and he sharpened them while I waited which only took a couple minutes! I'm very pleased with this place. They have a customer for life! read more

Friendly and helpful, got my kitchen knife sharpened in like five minutes for five bucks. I believe there's a 5 dollar minimum for card. I came by on a Saturday during the hours posted on Yelp and their front door but it was locked, so I suggest you call ahead. The second time I came by was in the morning on a weekday. My knife is now so sharp I have cut myself multiple times since I'm not used to it. Clearly I need some knife skills. read more

I had 6 knives my wife asked me to get sharpened and I went by A-1 at 9:30 in the morning. Steve asked me if we had other knives to get by tonight. I told him we could get by, but because of where we live it would be convenient for me to pick them up this afternoon. He said to call him and he would try to get them done. I called him at 4:05 and Steve said come on by. Super service and 6 knives for $31.00. Very reasonable. Highly recommended for any of your sharpening needs. read more

So glad I found this place! I hate dull kitchen knives. Excellent work, friendly service and a fair price. What more can you ask for?

I was ready to throw my clipper away. I decided to bring it in and to see if it can be fix before throwing purchasing a brand new pair. Found out the problem took less than 2 minutes to fix. Glad I brought it in. Save myself $150 for a brand new pair. Prices are great and affordable also. Highly recommend this place. read more

Small shop, little difficult to find but terrific people and terrific service. Dropped off my kitchen knives, leaving them in the block, offered me same day service (which I didnt need). My knives are 15+ years old and have never been sharpened. I am amazed how sharp they are now, much better than new! read more

A little hard to find (look for Dominos on Shaw and Minnewawa) but excellent service , very reasonable prices

I had a couple pairs of scissors and an heirloom knife to be sharpened. I was very impressed with this shop! The staff were excellent and they sharpened everything to a brand new condition. In addition, they completely repaired the heirloom knife by not only sharpening it, but affixed the handles to the tang properly! I was super pleased with them, and will return with my items to be sharpened! read more
