A-1 Appliance is the biggest scam operation in the area. They charge you $93 for a required service fee then come out and quote an outrageous price for a minor repair. We had them repair our dishwasher - waited a week for the part to get in at a cost of about $300 then when the part came it we suddenly needed a second part for another $200. Now today I call them out to install a part I already have for a flap cover on my dryer vent. Probably a 15 minute repair and they want $250 to install it - I say no they offer a $20 discount really??? But I still have to pay $93 for nothing. Be very careful using these guys. read more

I stripped a screw as I was removing the door on a new GE dryer. I visited two hardware stores, searching for the right size sheet metal screw, #6s were too small while #8s were too big. Our Our 11 year old Whirlpool dryer stopped heating the other day, so we called A-1 Appliance and they came out less than 48 hours to repair dryer. We were so happy to hear that our dryer was still in good condition and all it needed was a fuse and solenoid. Really wasn't looking to buy a new appliance right now. Jerry and Ricardo were so professional and even went above and beyond cleaning out lint in vent and scrapping off some rust on the drum. Having just moved here almost 3 years now, we are glad to have found a reputable appliance repair service. We will definitely use them again, when needed. Great service. Had the electric panel on my GE Adorable oven & range go out. Guerrero & Adrian came to the house, prompt/on time. They listened to me explain the events prior to the panel going out, immediately pulled the stove out from the wall and opened the back of the appliance. They went through the steps to determine the issue, could find NO issue, reassembled the back of the panel and it worked! These two gentlemen were extremely professional, friendly, efficient, and wasted no time putting the stove back in its place in the kitchen and gave me the receipt for the service call only and were on their way. Explained fully the entire procedure and advised if any problem to call and they would return. I am so impressed - in and out rapidly, and each step was explained very much to my satisfaction. My dryer has been making a loud noise and not heating all the time. Two guys from A-1 came out (And spent less then 30 minutes) looking at the dryer, One older man who was not very pleasant and one younger man who went to the truck to get prices on the parts etc. Long story short the quote to repair my dryer is almost what it costs to buy a new one. One of the workers did say, he would not fix it for that price. They left made a quick 69.00, Which yes would have went towards the 272.76 Price they quoted me, just seems a little out of the ballpark to me. I will not call A1 again. read more

I have been here several times over the last 10 years. I bought a fridge, washer, dryer, and a gas stovetop from them. I still use the stovetop and the dryer I bought. The fridge died after a couple years, and the washer lasted about 7. Overall I am pleased with the service and quality. This is not a new appliance store, and though they do make sure everything works before they sell it, it is not the same as buying new, so there is always a risk. If it were all new and guaranteed with factory warranties, you would pay a LOT more. They are cool and straightforward, and are not misleading. I read all the reviews, and it seems some folks who had a bad experience may be expecting something out of the scope of this place. Yes, they charge for repair estimates...who doesn't? And yes, the way appliances are made these days, they are cheaper to replace then repair. I will be going back here to buy again. read more

Came here a few weeks ago to get a part for our washer. Showed them the model number and the part that needed to be replaced. Was told no refunds or exchanges (I think that's really ridiculous but ok). Staff wasn't necessarily rude but definitely didn't go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They ordered the part needed for our washer and when it came in a week later we went and picked it up. Went to install it the next day and it was completely the wrong part. Googled the part number on the new product and it didn't even go to our washer. Called and spoke with one of their service techs, who agreed that the we were not the reason the part wasn't the right one and told me he would have the manager call me the next day. Never got a call back. My husband finally took it back and complained after several attempts to reach them by phone . Come to find out it was their vendors mistake...ok fine. The part we actually needed was $50 cheaper (based off of every part company we googled and spoke to on the phone)...great. Ordered the correct part through A1 (it was on back order) and went to pick it up once it came and bring back the wrong part so they could return it to their vendor. They did NOT refund us the difference in price. We are eating the $50 difference because I'm just thankful the washer is fixed and I don't have to go back in and deal with this business. read more

They'll deliver your purchased appliance and haul away the old one, free of charge. I was even credited the original service call price of them assessing my refrigerator, on the sale of the one I purchased. Since I can't repair these things on my own, I felt I was treated fairly. In the middle of a heat wave our AC unit failed. Fidel came out on a SATURDAY to check it out. He communicated with my home warranty company quickly and made sure to stay in contact with me daily regarding the status of the replacement unit. Due to COVID, it took my home warranty company 3 very long and very hot weeks to deliver the correct unit. Durning those three weeks, Fidel called and/or text me to make sure my family was safe! On the day if the new unit install, they were on-time, reliable, clean, and PREPARED! And they even washed my solar panels for me! Technician came out with a younger gentlemen on Monday November 19. He's a friendly older gentlemen and quickly got to diagnosing my fridge. He initially thought it was one thing, quoted me on it and got to fixing. He found out it was not what he thought it was but a bigger problem. He quoted me accordingly which was way more so I declined the fix and paid the $79 for just the diagnosis. My husband comes home later and looks at it and finds that he cut the wires way too short to strip and we had to use electrical tape to patch up his botched work. Not only that but he didn't even need to cut the wires from the relays, he could've just pulled them off from the relay instead of cutting them. I'm beyond annoyed to say the least. I figured since I declined the fix then he would at least leave my fridge the same way he found it and not all half assed. I don't know if I would contact again for work, it was just way too sloppy, I expected more from a company that has 30 years working in the area. Proceed with caution is all I have to say. read more

My ice maker stopped working recently and instead of ordering online, which was the cheapest route to go, I decided to do business locally. I had to use a credit card over the phone to order and was given the impression that the price included installation also. When the part came in, I was told it didn't include the installation so I decided to install myself. When I got home, I noticed that the part number on the part was correct but the actual part inside the box was a completely different number. When I went back to the store to return the part the person at the counter pointed to a sign on the wall that said "no refunds". I asked to speak with the owner, which took several days until she was available, and then was told that the credit card machine could accept sales but not refunds. (Having had my own business for 12 years, I knew that was not the way a credit card machine works). By this time I was so frustrated that I agreed to a 20% restocking fee to get a check from her to resolve the issue. Buyer beware. read more

Good ole mom & pop shop. Got a great deal on a fridge for $175 that looked almost new. Way...better than the $500 plus I can't afford for a new fridge. I see it as a vintage find :). One of the owners Al reminds me of my dad so I guess I have a soft spot for them. He has a funny personality and actually takes the time to tell me what I should and should not do for maintenance. Had an appt for between 4-6 on Friday the 7th they show up after 6. I already told Miriam that the belt was the issue and to make sure there was one on the truck when they got here. There was not! So they said we will be back before 11am tomorrow with belt and fix your dryer 1149 No repair man. Apparently appointments don't mean anything to this company and repeat customers is not what they want. They are after the one time only customer.
