High , high , cost without letting you know first, friendly when you meet until you get the bill

Very dissapointed. I hired this guy to fix a leaky washer. The part was on back order but he collected $300 from us via Zelle. This was in early Sept. After like 8 wks. I contacted him and he said he was in the hospital. I see some reviews from people posted during that time although. I was apprehensive about calling an appliance repair during the holidays. Our Viking refrigerator stopped working. We called acts Appliance Repair, George was promptly at our service. He was very courteous and very knowledgeable, he explained the diagnostics with details and took his time to answer all our questions. He also answered questions about our other broken appliances. Worked thru American Home Shield who sent them out. Our door to our Microwave has deteriorated and eventually broke off. They sent a technician over who kept saying it's the door. His English was poor so it was hard to communicate. Long story short he wrote and said our Microwave was not normal wear and tear which is inaccurate. His name on the Work order was hard to read but it looks like it said Serpcy. Piss poor service and now we had to call AHS again who is going to charge us again. Not happy. read more

We had our refrigerator ice maker fixed by George. The ice wouldn't dispense. It took him an hour and 1/2 on YouTube to figure out how to do it, but it got done. I paid him immediately before he left in full. I asked for his card and he left it. After he pulled out of the driveway, I turned the card over and found it advertised $25 off for veterans. We called his number nobody answered we kept calling him finally a female by the the name of Debbie responded, we told her the card stated we get 25.00 off labor my husband is a retired veteran with 20 years service. He didn't get the $25 off for the labor. She stated I'll get a hold of George and get back to you, she never called back she never called back. We called ACT Appliance Repairs and Installation three or four times left messages we were stonewalled. Finally today we got a hold of Debbie again and she said George said NO to the $25 discount that it could be applied in the future. We explained to her there will be no future job our home is for sale there is a big for sale sign in front of the house George couldn't have missed it! The card clearly says $25 off for veterans NOT for future jobs. We disputed with our bank today and told her we would dispute and she said ok. The bank credited our $25.00 back immediately on calling them. If you have a problem dispute with your bank or credit card they should credit you. Funny thing is on the back of the card there's a Christian quote Acts 1:11. With Jesus in bold above the quote. With the religious symbol of the fish and Jesus in the middle of the fish. George and Debbie do not exemplify Christian behavior by stonewalling and not giving the discount they advertise. If you're a veteran or a senior I would not recommend them. We will contact Harlows Kitchen Concepts who recommended him and voice our complaint with them as well. They also advertise 10.00 off for seniors on Wednesday $15.00 and Thursday s $25.00. For labor only which is the only thing he did was labor. We only asked for the $25.00 discount because he advertised it on the back of his card for veterans, and then doesn't abide by his own contract. Is this how our 20 year military veteran is treated? We had hired George to fix our fridge because it wasn't working, we were without a fridge for a whole month. He had came back three times to switch out parts for the fridge. But he could not find the underlying issue on what was wrong with the fridge. We would make appointments with him and he would not show up repeatedly. He would just bring his grandkids and have his grandkids doing all the work while he sat down on his phone texting and answering phone calls. He even used our restroom and forgot to flush. Got referral via angi.com. Business card says they give a $25 off for veterans. I am a veteran. When I spoke to George (the owner) after repairing my refrigerator he said he would take care of it (meaning applying the discount) after he had been paid (via check). I was expecting a check in the mail. No action taken. Called the office (which I believe is his home) and the woman said she would contact George over the issue and get back to me. Horrible! First, he is not friendly. He is never on time. George kept telling us he could fix our Refrigerator that it was defective parts he was receiving. User beware. I'll share with you our experience and let you decide if this is the company you want to entrust your expensive appliances with. First, we were referred to this company as part of our extended warranty for our appliance. Our service appointment was scheduled for a 4-hour morning window, something like 8am-12pm. When 12:30pm rolled around, we decided to call and ask if the technician was still coming out. The technician himself answers the phone and tells me, "Oh, yeah. I'm going to be late." Not just a few minutes late, but 2-3 hours late on top of our scheduled service window. The technician eventually arrives and without humility or apology, enters my home, plugs his phone charger and phone into my outlet and spends about 2 minutes examining my appliance just to tell me, "Yeah, it's broken. We have to order the part." Ok, fine. Let's order the part. The technician tells me. WE will call YOU when the part comes in so we can schedule an appointment to install the new part. Fast forward a month later and no phone call. We speak to their "customer service" who tells us there is no record of our appointment, the part was never ordered and it's not their responsibility to recontact the manufacturer to confirm some type of confirmation number to get the service and parts covered. A few days later, we are recontacted as they magically found our service appointment and information after we sent them a picture of the technician's cell phone charger which he left at our house. The part was ordered and was ready within a day or two. Obviously, we went with a different company. Long story short, we waited a full month with our appliance expending unnecessary energy. The reason I keep coming back to George: He does not ignore you- his day may be hectic and he might have just gotten home from working ALL DAY- and here you are bugging him- just one more pesky client that needs him to respond ASAP because to you, you are the most important person in the world right now and you have a big problem right? So what does George do? He looks at all the pictures you sent him he listens to what you're saying about your appliance problem he gives you solutions even though he hasn't had dinner yet and he's really tired and then he finds out it's not really an appliance problem it's a plumbing problem and you need to call a plumber so the next day you've got a plumber scheduled instead of George - that's why I keep calling George because he has my back whether it's his problem or it's the plumbers problem. I've had George come fix a washer a while back, and more recently a refrigerator compressor. He does good, honest work and he'll try to save you some money if he can. Finding a trustworthy repairman can be difficult so I'd definitely give him a call before any other repair company. He does get busy so try to be a bit patient with scheduling service, you'll save money in the long run and won't get hosed with unnecessary repairs. read more

They were extremely busy but she arranged a way to fit me in their schedule. The technician that showed up was very kind and knowledgeable. It was late on a Friday and you could tell it had been a long day but he was very enthusiastic. He fixed our refrigerator and gave my husband tips to caring for your refrigerator. I had an absolutely horrible experience! I hired this company to give me an estimate for repair of a microwave and the ice dispenser on a refrigerator. They told me what was wrong, but did not give me a cost estimate. They said they had to order a part. I specifically told them I needed to know a price before authorizing proceeding with any repairs. They went ahead and did the repairs providing me with a price or getting my authorization to proceed. This is a rental house. I would not have paid that kind of money for something like that. The microwave itself is 16 years old. I would've just bought a new one! I clearly and repeatedly told them I needed to know a price before authorizing proceeding with any repairs. They went ahead and did the repairs without authorization. Absolutely reprehensible business practices!!! I had paid one of your guys to come out to my house twice to try and fix my dishwasher and he couldn't get the job done so I told him to give me a refund both him and his assistant assured me that I would be getting it in the mail in a week or two and after the second week of waiting for it nothing came so I called them again on 10/13/2022 at 4:32 PM (Pacific Time) his assistant told me that she doesn't know but she will ask the boss what is going on with the refund and that she will call me back when she finds out i had to call her again the very next day 10/14/2022 at 8:51 AM (Pacific Time) and she told me that the boss forgot to send out the refund but then she followed up with assuring me that he will personally drop off the refund in my mailbox the very next day 10/15/2022 it is now 10/16/2022 and I still haven't got my refund i tried calling but no one picks up and I have tried leaving voicemails in the passed but they still ignore me these people are being very unprofessional the last time they were physically here was on 8/30/2022 all i want is my refund it shouldn't be taking this long for something as simple as giving a refund if somebody doesn't tell me a real date on when am going to get it i will be taking the next steps to get my money back read more

This was a horrible experience... I called a week ago to make an appointment to get my fridge fixed. No one answered. No big deal, so I left a detailed voicemail. After 3 days I still hadn't received a call back, so I called again and a woman who was very short with me answered the phone. I kindly told her I had left a voicemail but hadn't received a call back yet. She made an appointment for me for 12pm a few days later. She said to give him until 2pm in case the technician is busy. 2pm rolled around and still no one showed up. 2:30 came and went, still no one showed up. I called their number wanting to let them know that no one had showed up even after waiting 2 1/2 hours AFTER my appointment time. Guess what? Please pay attention to number of negative reviews on yelp. There are multiple 1 star reviews from different users. They are there for a reason. Greg from Acts appliance repair came over to fix a non working wine fridge. He diagnosed that the motor needed be replaced and requested that I purchase a new one from the manufacturer. He quoted a 250 installation. The part was back order and took two months to arrive. Before ordering I verified with their sectary that this would not be an issue. Once it arrived, he changed the quoted price to $950.00 because "their quotes are only valid for month". They are also very sloppy in their work. During the initial service visit I found screws on the floor while the technician was finishing up the job. When I asked him about it, Greg said he would put them back inside once he returned to finished the job. Do not use this company they are horrible. read more

I called them to work on my refrigerator that was not cooling and they quoted me one price over the phone and they said they would pick up the part needed (which was rather expensive) and come and install it. Well when he got here he determined that the problem was actually different then the part he had ordered and picked up and come to replace, so he said he would be back the same day with the right part and fix it. Well he did and charged me much less than the initial quote! A couple months later the same problem reoccurred. I called George again and he came by the next day and said he would order some more parts and replace them and install them with no additional cost because the problem wasn't solved the first time. I insisted on paying him for his time but he refused! You don't find support AND service from businesses like this anymore. I called to have an appliance issue checked out and fixed. The receptionist asked for the model number prior to George coming out. I texted it over and George showed up as scheduled days later. He asked what was wrong and I explained the situation. He said oh I know what's wrong before even looking at the appliance, he only looked at the appliance to snap a picture of the model number, which I had already sent days before. He then charged me the $100 service fee and said his receptionist would call me back later that day with a quote for the job. After waiting 4 days the receptionist called and asked when I was available for the fix, I asked what the price was and she quoted me another $500 in addition to what I had paid, which is over half of what the appliance cost me to begin with. Needless to say I said I'd think about it and then proceeded to google it. I ended up buying the part for $150 and installed it in 20 minutes after watching a YouTube video (it was all of 6 screws)! ACTS was going to rip me off for around $350, for what, George's stellar personality?? If you need an appliance repaired don't call ACTS, they're just taking you for a ride! read more

If I could give them a zero I would. I received a text messages that read that they will be here between 10 am to 12am. Later, I received a phone call that they would arrive between 10 am to 2 pm. Then, shorty after, I received a another text that that they would arrive between 10 am to 12 pm. I called their office at 2:42pm to let them know on one from their firm had arrived or called. The phone lady informed me that she would return my call, once she found out what had occurred. She called and that they are stuck on refrigerator project and that they would arrive shorty after 3 pm. I called again around 3:45 to ask where are they. They didn't show up at all. I have one of those vintage stoves from the 50s and the oven was not working. Before calling Act, I had another company come out and was told I needed a new thermostat and it would cost $450 to repair. I did not feel good about these people and wanted a second opinion so I called Act. The Act technician really troubleshooted and, to make a long story short, the thermostat was working fine and the technician fixed the oven with no new parts needed. He also fixed a burner that would only come on intermittently. It cost $135 to fix vs. $450. I am very happy with this company and felt confident that the tech knew what he was doing. I also found out that this company does way more than fix appliances. He is a licensed general contractor and does everything from baseboards to building a room addition. Good to know! read more

This review is solely about office staff. I cannot comment on the technician as he never showed up. I would give a zero but unfortunately I am not giving the option that do so. I made an appointment with them through their online booking app on their web page. I received confirmation through email that they were to arrive today between I-2. You can see it in the photos I provided. After leaving a voice message and a email I finally received a return call from someone by the name of Judy from their so called office staff. It's now 3:15! I explained to her that I had made this appointment through their webpage and received confirmation she had no clue what I was talking about. She asked "what website?" That she never received any notifications. Which is a contradiction in itself. How could she as office staff not be aware that people can book through their website but yet proclaim she never receive any notifications is beyond me. Then she proceeds to state real nasty that " well we are booked up until next week anyways" then hangs up on me! Maybe proper customer etiquette should be taught along with a few manners. I called her back to confront her hanging up on me and she insisted that she didn't. No surprise there lol Big freakin joke!!! She dose not know how to deal with upset customers who have been waiting for hours for someone to show up.
