Large, bright menu boards. Affordable, casual, sit-down dining with friendly local service. Sidebar: I had dinner here about 10 years ago, but got into an argument with my now ex-husband. So I just always had a bad juju about this place. Recently, my Mom was raving about how delicious the breakfast is, so I decided to stop in. The menu has all your favorite comfort foods, including hamburgers, baked potatoes, sandwiches, a breakfast menu that is served until 11 AM, etc. I do wish they served coffee in actual ceramic cups, or maybe offered that option. I also wish they had an iced coffee option. My Belgian waffle combo was delicious. The eggs were obviously cooked to order, and the bacon was perfectly crispy. I'll be back again soon! I keep thinking about the baked potato or the BLT.

The food is delicious and tastes like a home cooked meal. The ambiance is simple and homey. The service is friendly and fast. The menu is huge, with so many options to choose from. Their brunch options are particularly fantastic, with a wide variety of dishes to suit any taste. Overall, I would highly recommend 9er's to anyone looking for some delicious food in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

My husband's and daughter's food was great. However I was so disappointed. I could not eat my food. I posted a picture of the Wings and waffle that is advertised on the menu vs what I received. Never in my 41 years have I ever...

Ribeye steak allegedly....

Awesome lady at register. Good atmosphere. But obviously needs new management. Ordered a ribeye med rare & got what seemed to be not a ribeye that was overdone. So I asked for a chicken fried steak. And for the nastiest chicken fried steak that I've ever tried to eat. I couldn't even eat it because of how dry & chewy it was.... It was my first visit & my last.

Delicious Southern Style Burger. Avocado, bacon and mushrooms all blend together in a great taste.

Is 9er's the best food ever? No, but you will get good food at a good price. "Cheers" was the bar where "everyone knows your name". I wouldn't go to that extreme with 9er's, but it is a neighborhood eatery. It's a meeting place, an after church restaurant, a breakfast spot. The place shows a little wear and tear and probably needs a refurb, but it's still a comfortable place to eat comfort food. Watch for the specials. On my last visit, I had a couple of tasty, grilled catfish filets from the weekend special menu. Great seasoning on the fish and only $10. My wife enjoyed the Philly cheese steak sandwich with sweet potato fries.

Great burgers, friendly service and everything was excellent. We ordered burgers, chicken, fries and onions rings. Well seasoned, well cooked. Will definitely be coming back. Great pricing too.

Raw fries

Haven't been here in years. Tried it out tonight and food was pretty bad. Old baked potato, raw French fries and burger tasted precooked or oven boiled. Probably won't come back here for a while.

Seafood boils (of course), fried platters, Chinese food, creole, and more i forgot to name. I was overwhelmed by what to order in a good way because everything sounded delicious. Our whole table got the Boudin Balls, Fried catfish platter, and the Combo 2, which was crab legs, potato, corn, and shrimps. The boil was delicious, I love a juicy spicy flavorful boil, and bby that was definitely that. they did they big one on everything. it was well seasoned and very good. im definitely going back cause they ate down.

Some friends had the ceviche oysters that I didn't try but it looked like pico on oysters. The calamari app was good lots of parm and thicker breading, different than most. I had the dirty rice and it wasn't my favorite, tasted like I make at home but with thicker chunks of celery that threw me off, flavor was good though. Had the garlic parm wings flats which came wet which I was excited for but the skin kept separating from the wing, the meat was good. My friends got the crawfish which looks bomb if your into crawfish and the fixing. Service was really good, top notch atmosphere so I would go back and just get something different. Give it a try

Same curved counter, same stainless, same red shirts - and the same man in the cap and beard shucking my oysters, one perfect shell at a time. This place isn't fancy. It's Texas honest. A grounded ship ringed in sun-bleached shells, loud with beer, laughter, and knives hitting the hinge. Folks pack in - oil hands, students, suits - because here, money doesn't decide taste. If you want the Gulf, you come. The oysters are what the Gulf does better than anyone will admit: big, briny, and unapologetic. Pacific and Australian oysters are refined - polite, even. Ours carry warm salt, mineral depth, and a little river memory. They don't whisper; they speak Texas. Menu says a dozen; you get thirteen. That's not a promotion. That's culture. The Michelada? Many places pour a decent one. I won't judge. But drop a fat Gulf oyster in the glass and the drink wears its crown - the way Houstonians know it should. Fried catfish here sets a bar most won't clear: cornmeal crisp, clean-sweet flesh, no mud, no funk. In this part of the country--Texas and our neighbors in Arkansas - we don't just eat catfish; we raise it right and fry it right. That's geography, craft, and pride. Frog legs snap at the joint and stay tender at heart - quiet Southern luxury. Gumbo is Texas gumbo - thicker, smokier, steady. Not Cajun, not Creole; ours. Skip it and your body will notice. Nineteen years ago I had my first Michelada here. Nineteen years later, it's still the best - and that same shucker in the cap is still running the line like time never learned his name. This isn't nostalgia. It's continuity. This isn't "seafood night." It's Houston - served raw, hot, and true. And for anyone wondering, yes - whoever you are, if you want the real thing, you'll end up here. - Dr. C Born elsewhere. Refined by Texas salt & smoke.

I didn't recall anything bad about the place, and given the rave reviews since then, I thought it was time to return. Based on reviews, we showed up early on a Friday evening (~5 pm). Even at that time, it was mostly full, but we were able to snag seats at the bar, which is first come first serve. We ordered the "regular" grilled oysters (5/5), which were anything but regular, as they were topped with peanuts and a really great flavor. I'd get these again. Fair warning, these take 20 minutes to come out, which I didn't mind, but I did not realize that they would not bring us anything else until after the oysters since these are considered an app. I thought they'd just bring things out as they were ready. This meant, we did not get our crawfish until we were already sitting there for an hour. About halfway into the wait for the crawfish (after the oysters), the fried rice (1/5) showed up, and I have to say, it was underwhelming. It came out room temperature, which to me is cold, and I thought this was just how they do it. Except 15 minutes later, the seats next to us got their fried rice, and it came out piping hot. You could still see the steam coming off of it. Besides being cold, I didn't think the fried rice was that good in terms of flavor. I also generally prefer the short grain rice, and this was more of a long grain. Once the crawfish showed up, we were well past an hour, so we dove right into it. Both the garlic butter and combo mix were great flavor - some of the best I've had in Houston. However.... it made me remember why we did not return. About 20% of the crawfish were TINY. And by tiny, I mean they were smaller than my pinky finger. Maybe I'm a crawfish snob, but at this time of the season, there should not be that many tiny crawfish. Maybe a few small ones, but not tiny. Crawfish flavor = 5+/5, crawfish quality = 2/5, crawfish cook = 3/5. Then I made the mistake of ordering a cluster of snow crab. That took another 30+ min to come out, and it was again room temperature. The service at the bar was fine (4/5), but the kitchen service (1/5) is not something I want to experience again, especially not for the crawfish quality/size. Yes, the flavor was amazing, but I'm not fighting for a table for lukewarm food and 30 min wait time for each dish. The pricing was some of the lowest I've seen ($8.99/lb crawfish), but I'd rather pay $1 more at other places for the quality.

I haven't been to this spot in years. I forgot how good this place was!…read more Music is always popping here. I came in on a Friday night, and they had a live DJ playing. The music is a mix of EDM, Hip-hop, Rap, and R&B. They have tables and bar top seating. If you have a bigger group, I'm sure you can find a table depending on the time you arrive. There is a lot of seating. To start off, I ordered the Matcha Martini. It was STRONG omg, definitely a sipper, but it was so good. It was creamy and had a good matcha flavor. I love how they added matcha powder on top. For drinks, I also tried their espresso martini and Bubbly Pineapple. The espressos here are good, no complaints. The Bubbly Pineapple is so cute; it comes out with a bubble of smoke you can pop. The drink is very refreshing; it really tastes like pineapple. FYI, the drink has little black seeds, so if you don't like textures in your drink, maybe this one isn't for you. Also the drink came with a little frozen pineapple you can add to your drink once you pop the bubble As an appetizer, I got a dozen raw oysters and decided to add the $5 tobiko (fish eggs). Let me say, they were not stingy with the Tobiko, there was so much on my Oysters, I mean a lot! The oysters were good, and so was the tobiko, but I feel that with so much tobiko, it kind of took away from the oysters. Still good though, especially for $21 for the dozen with the tobiko! It was very filling I'm not gonna lie, I got pretty full with the oysters, but I still had to eat my entree As an entree, I ordered the Short Ribs, which came with rice and a side salad. I didn't think I was going to eat much of my entree since the oysters had filled me up, but I ate the short ribs down to the bone! Every single one of those ribs I devoured, no meat was left on my plate. I didn't have space to eat, but my stomach made space for this. 10/10 would recommend the short ribs, especially with the delicious sauce it came with. I think it's like a fish sauce 10/10 for food and drinks. Bonus: the staff here is really friendly. I really enjoyed my time here. I need to come more often for sure, this is definitely a Katy gem
