This was a great experience. When I went it was very empty at 8p so I couldn't judge their service truly. I will say that the service while I was there was great. No complaints. Pros: Karaoke. Which I might add was almost like the good part of American idol. So many songs were sang in different languages and at great tones. I truly enjoyed it. They were very generous with the food. They made my dish and it came out very hot. I could tell it came right off the fire lol. Cons: Pricey. Be careful what you order. The lobster was very overcooked. Unsure if this was the desired outcome of the chef. They did provide butter sauce and all of it was needed. The jumbo margarita tasted like all syrup. Not properly mixed at all. Final thoughts: I would definitely go back because that one meal was more than enough, and even with the overcooked lobster it was delicious! And it's open 24 hours. The food was not good. To start when I walked in NO ONE greeted me. I had to ask three people if I sat myself as there was no sign or person. I sat at the bar as I was by myself. I got a menu myself as NO ONE even acknowledged me. I get I'm a black man and the anti-blackness is screaming at me globally but damn -- no one wants money? Really? In this economy? Okay. I always ask what would you get and let the recommendation lead me. The bartender recommended the mule so I got it -- it was alright. I ordered another then asked what's good to eat here -- she mentioned the skirt steak with yellow rice and plantains with coconut shrimp as an appetizer -- I ordered that. Up first -- coconut shrimp. They were the hardest damn shrimp I've ever eaten. Not just cooked hard but the meat was hard. I don't send food back. I'm a black man -- not doing anything to be poisoned at a restaurant out of state. I'll suffer. The entree came -- that damn steak was bland as all get out. No seasoning, no juices, no flavor -- just "meat?" The rice was good, the plantains were alright, and the sauce on the side was alright. Finally the dessert -- guava cheesecake. It had more chocolate than anything. Barely tasted the guava. I got one water while I was there and the glass stayed empty until I damn near paid the bill and finally I got a refill. Not to mention that during my entire experience I watched them exuberantly greet potential guests from the street while my black ass basically sat and served myself. Talk about heated. And yes they were -- the guests they greeted were -- ya know. How much do you think this meal cost -- I'll save you time it was over $100 which included 15% gratuity for yes -- a single diner. To say I will never in my fucking life eat here again is an understatement. Even in death I will never support such foolishness. I'm so mad at myself for even suffering through this meal the way I did. Save your money or only get drinks -- which were also overpriced. Just don't do it. read more

Stopped in for a quick breakfast. First thing we noticed was that the place was dirty (floors, tables were dusty, the fabric chairs had food crusted on them). The menu for breakfast was basic so we ordered sandwiches, I got the mahi mahi sandwich and it was dry and smelled fishy. My friend got the Cuban sandwich and liked it. Carmilo is always excellent and the vibe is good. I had probably the worse chicken soup ever. My wife's Black bean soup was also bad. I ask them very politely to remove one of the soups which was a very small bowl for $8.00. Carmilo said the the boss would not let him. We had an amazing experience at 9beach! The waitress we had was so considerate, kind and very communicative! I didn't catch her name but she's from Argentina! They are very lucky to have such a beautiful, young lady representing their company in such an phenomenal way! We weren't too hungry so we ordered 3 appetizers- the calamari (amazing), the ceviche (the best I've ever had and such a large portion! And the coconut shrimp (I give it a 7.5 out of 10) but overall, customer service was amazing. It is a little on the slow side but we were in no rush and enjoyed the views and quietness! Scam alert! We specifically did not ask for bottled water. We know the racket. The waiter put small opened bottles of water on our table, Zephyr, the kind you buy for maybe three for a dollar. We told the waiter we had not ordered bottled water, and he told us that their water was "no good" and they were required to give us bottled water. Fast forward to our bill. We were charged 8 dollars each plus the mandatory gratuity and tax, which came to a total of $40. Of course a restaurant is required by law to have potable water. There was only about 10 customers in the restaurant we were the only ones not sitting at the bar. When the food arrived it was at room temperature, including the fries and black beans sides. After 20 minutes getting our food the server yells from the bar "how's your food", we yell back "awful", she gives us the thumbs up, still not coming to the table. Twenty minutes later we stand up to leave since they didn't bring the check over, now here comes the server with the check. We refused to pay and she said ok. We left a tip and left the restaurant. I was there late night and it was disgusting. We sat at a table for 10 minutes before finally going to the bar for a drink. We ordered Ketel One, but I'm pretty sure we were served house vodka. The worst part was the vomit. I went to the bathroom and someone had vomited in the sink. I told a server who told me to tell my waitress. Since I didn't have a waitress, I told the bartender. I went back some time later and the vomit was still there. Then, as we were finishing our drinks, a man at the bar started vomiting on the floor. The staff just watched and let it sit there on the floor for about 30 minutes. Finally someone cleaned it up. The vomiter was allowed to stay and keep eating and drinking, no sense of responsibility from the bar for over serving. The experience was awful - I would not recommend this place. read more
