She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. She checked on us at just the right times, kept our drinks filled, and had such a positive attitude that made the whole experience even better. Great customer service like hers is hard to find. Classic no frills all American spot with a big menu and simple cooking to please anyone. Has a bar and many booths and tables. Get some popcorn to snack on while you wait for your meal too which is always a nice treat. Had their sangria which was okay, seemed to be a basic box wine. The burger was quite large and tasty, fresh LTO on the side, and came with a large helping of fries. Pretty good lunch and the price was fair. Definitely will be on the lookout as my go to spot around MA/NH for some easy bites in the future. My husband and I stopped in because one of my pregnancy cravings is gold fever wings. We have never been to this location but we were definitely not expecting to go in and have to go downstairs to get to the restaurant. It's a little creepy entering into what feels like an abandoned lobby and then going down into a windowless restaurant. We will try anything once however, we were quite disappointed when we got to the hostess station only to find no one. After waiting a few minutes my husband went and found someone who worked there. Turns out the hostess was sitting in a booth hanging out ignoring the door. If I wasn't determined to have gold fever wings we would have left. We were sat in the way back and couldn't help but notice how empty the restaurant was for a Saturday at lunch time. Our waitress was ok. I say this because she was attentive to my husband while ignoring me. For example she offered him a second drink but he had to ask for one of me. We ended up ordering the trio appetizer and we each got a soup. The food saved this review. The wings were perfect and exactly what baby wanted. The mozzarella moons were amazing and had the best cheese pull! The spinach dip was also great. The cherry on top was I ordered French onion soup and it tastes exactly how it did when I would go to the 99 in high school, absolute perfection. This is probably the worst 99 I have ever visited. The dinner my husband had needed to be returned twice, and I had to stop another server from ringing in his returned dinner. It was not busy. Is there no communication? He ended up eating half of mine. I would not recommend this place. read more

In the many years I've been going to the 99, there are some things that are always true. The haddock is always perfect. The salmon is amazing. The most important thing is that the service is always great. Thank you to the bartenders and servers. Sometimes I want to go someplace that is sunny with windows, but I often like going somewhere dark and cozy, so I always return there. read more

I mostly get curbside pick up. I've got the prime rib a few times and it is outstanding. The sides are good too. I've eaten inside and to be honest I smell mold in there. Smells like a pool almost! Return visit to the 99 was as good as always. The All Stat burger was delicious, done medium as ordered, juicy and flavorful. French fries on the side were done perfectly and served piping hot. Coleslaw was crispy and fresh, with just enough dressing. My companion's balsamic chicken was good too, with savory mashed potatoes and broccoli on the side. This chain is starting to become the Applebee's of the New England region. As in, this place isn't what it once was: a noble and grand casual dining experience which revolutionized American pub eateries the region over. Hyperbole aside, let's just say they went from pretty damn good....to 'meh'. Now, because we were just eating here for lunch after taking stuff to where we shall soon permanently reside, I figured I'd keep things simple with a regular old fashioned cheeseburger with Vermont cheddar cheese. Well, folks....I got some good news and some bad news. The good news is they nailed the temp and presentation. The bad news is it was under seasoned. Overall, I'd give the burger a 6 out of 10. The fries weren't much better. I mean, I definitely don't remember eating any hollowed-out, overcooked fries the last time I got the fish n' chips here. Those were like a 4, btw. If we're being real though, the food was still honestly the best part of the whole deal. The service, on the other hand, was dismal. We saw the guy like 3 times total. That is, until it was time to pick up the check, of course. I considered ordering another wine, but I was already finished eating by the time the waiter bothered to check on us. Ridiculous! And just another caveat: the entrance to getting into the parking lot is almost as bizarre as their front entrance to the restaurant itself. You can only get there from behind the building (don't ask). As for the front entrance, well....it's a fricking stairway. Going down. Like....into a basement type down. Who designed this monstrosity of an entrance?! People could hurt themselves. So, that's it. Average lunch with below average service. I personally thought the quality of the food here was mediocre. The service was fine, but the wait staff being good at their jobs obviously has no impact on how well the food comes out. I went here with my grandfather, and he was also disappointed. According to him, he believed it smelled vaguely of urine, although when he said that I was confused because I noticed no such smell, and I'm typically more sensitive to smells than most people. So take that with a grain of salt, but also maybe consider it. It's worth noting the last time I went here was in 2021, so it may have changed and improved. I personally used to like the 99 as a resturant but I feel like generally, as a chain, it has declined in quality since I was a kid. read more

I got takeout here the other day. A woman came out with my order (I think her name is Helen) who didn't say much and wasn't very friendly. She asked me my name and said ok and then handed me my food turned around and started walking in. As I was getting myself situated and ready to back out of my spot, I noticed she stuck her hand up and flipped me off. The Nashua, NH 99 Restaurant is something, slightly more than a Hell Hole. I ordered a burger to go. The burger was pretty good, to 99's credit. I picked the burger up at the precise time that I specified that I'd pick the burger up. Much to my dismay, the french fries were cold, soggy, and gross. Clearly, whoever assembled my order, did not give a shit, and must think they are preparing food for a Soup Kitchen, not a paying, retail customer (from a business, that one would think, would give a shit about the quality of their product). It is clear that the Nashua, NH 99 Restaurant does not give a shit about the quality of their food. The french fries were gross; McDonald's does a million times better than the 99 Restaurant. Further, wouldn't you think that the 99 would include some packets of ketchup with a to-go order of a burger, and french fries? There was no ketchup. Listen, let's be clear, this is a 99 Restaurant. We're not giving it Michelin stars but I have to say, this 99 surprised us. First off, the place is surprisingly gigantic. The bare is equally huge and, I must say, a little disconcerting as it wanders through the room making conversation with anyone but those you are seated with difficult. Beer was incredibly cold (great start), good selection and great pub-styled food. Its a good, solid 3 star place, I added a star for the staff who were incredibly attentive and fun to be with. When you're tired of your gourmet fine dining super expensive restaurants, give the 99 in Nashua a try. You'll leave full and be glad you stopped by. read more

Had to be the worst meal I have had there in 10 years of our going to this 99. The Server/service was slow. Delivered our drinks holding the rim of the glasses. Kept leaving the table before the whole order was taken. Brought a double instead of a tall. Brought a Margarita with salt on the rim when asked not to. Next time one of the people at our table asked for extra salt on her Margarita and got none. Steak tips were like chewing gum and the chicken tenders were cooked like they had been left in the fryer for an hour. Hard as a rock and very dry. Got no fry's or cole slaw or any other sides other than a wedge I ordered. Wedge salad and other salads all showed up with the meal. Not enough room on the table for all the plates. I'm usually not picky but that was just terrible. Something that wasn't normal for this 99. All for well over $100. Hoping for better next time. read more

The steak wasn't bad but the sides were clearly old I even mentioned it and there was zero reaction like they must hear it all the time. I know it really was bad because by morning I couldn't leave the restroom. First off, the smell that hits you in the face is terrible. I thought it smelled like a bathroom. My husband asked the hostess if someone had died in there. We decided to give it a shot anyway. The food was just "meh". My french onion soup was so full of bread that there was barely any broth or onions. My daughter's chicken tenders were "more breading than chicken" in her words. My grandson wouldn't eat his hotdog, which is strange. I tried it and it tasted like chemicals. I spit it out. The server said that she would "bring it to the kitchen's attention". My husband enjoyed his meal of steak & chicken. We ordered dessert, 2 towering midnight fudge cakes, one for there & one to go. We both received the chocolate cake. When brought to the server's attention, she offered to fix it, but, we just wanted to get out of there. The server was very pleasant. My husband called it "99 Restaurant, pub, & morgue" on the way home.I don't know how people can stand to work in that stink. We could smell it the whole time we were there. my daughter picked up corned beef and cabbage at noon today. it was one of the worst meals of the famous dish I have had. The only thing I liked were the mashed potatoes. I have frequented this 99 restaurant many times over the years. Back in 2016, I reviewed it and sadly gave it a 2 star. I am happy to report they have greatly improved. The restaurant is operated in the basement of a building that also houses a hotel. But don't let that scare you away thinking it's just 'hotel type' crappy food. It's not! The vast menu has something you will like. Steak tips and turkey are great, buffalo chicken tenders are a great match with a cold beer. Seafood, salads and sandwiches are a great option too. Typically we dine in the bar area...which has a great social long curvy bar. The environment is a comfy, low light feel. Service is quite good and you will be greeted with a smiling hostess. Location makes for a quick on and off the highway and prices are reasonable. Great option for groups that may differ on what they want for a casual lunch or dinner! Also they are taking the social distancing precautions seriously... so go with no worries! read more

I never thought I'd be writing a negative review for The 99. This was always the go-to place when we didn't feel like cooking and wanted a really good meal. The menu has changed so much, they've gotten rid of a lot of our favorites. The food that was ordered was pretty bland (fish was barely seasoned and had no flavor for example). To top it off, the service just wasn't as good as it once was; we were waiting for a while for a table when it wasn't busy and people who came in after us (no reservation) were seated before us. Wow I was genuinely impressed with the level of customer service here! Other restaurants should come and take notes! The manager the night we came, Karen, was so sweet and talked to us like we were old friends. She took our coats and hung them up for us and described the nightly specials. I got the fajita chicken bowl and it was delish, I finished the whole thing. Prices here are super reasonable, lots of entree dishes for only 10 bucks!
