I've eaten in house and had little trouble getting the food right. Recently, I had a large tab for a delivery order for myself and a guest. The meal was a disaster and I was so embarrassed to have little backup food on hand (I'm disabled currently homebound). I was upset with the situation but the manager there reached out to me about the situation. She was very polite, genuine about how she would have felt if she were in my place, and said that she hoped they'd be able to do better for me next time. Still homebound, I gave them another chance and they did a good job with the meals. Try the Banana Foster cheesecake before it goes away!! Having a successful night, I was happy to order another steak dinner. The steak was well prepared and the other entree was fine. The appetizer was pretty basic (2 celery sticks is stingy for a wings order...). But I didn't receive one of the dinner salads that was a side with the meal. The receipt shows it and I called the restaurant after I opened the bag. The restaurant phone had a recording and then it would just disconnect. So I never got to tell them about the problem. At this point, I don't think I can trust them to get a delivery order correct -- statistically it has been proven.... So if you can go to the restaurant to dine in or pick up the order to make sure it's correct, I would say go for it. Otherwise, I've got to say don't bother with delivery. (If you do, know that they have left the food outside on my steps and never rang the bell to let me know it was delivered. They don't call or text to let you know that they have dropped it off either. Which means that you either need to watch your door, have a camera on your house or hope you get it before it is too cold. With my disability, I can't even get outside by myself to get to where they leave the bags. So I have to get someone else to help me bring it in. (I tip drivers extra for handing it off to me bc I get hot food. Never have had a delivery from them actually bring my food to the door.) I feel like they look at the wheelchair ramp and just decide to leave it in the middle of that. (Which is the equivalent of leaving it in the driveway bc it is through a porch, across a deck and then goes down to the one of two driveways.) read more

Maybe we lucked out as we were traveling and stopped for the first time at this restaurant chain. I wasn't expecting much but we were extremely happy with our meal and service. Our waitress was wonderful and attentive. Better than some high end places we have been. I had the stuffed shrimp and it was excellent! The waitress came back time and again asking if everything was okay. The popcorn was horrible and they shoudl fix that or just get rid of it but that didn't impact anything with our overall impressions. read more

My family and I went out to eat at the 99 tonight on our way to the beach, We ordered mozzarella sticks, and chicken tenders to eat. Going with a safe option I'd assume that I'd be fine, but on my way home I discovered something evil brewing inside me. I had the worst stomach pain imaginable and I had to sprint to my toilet before I felt like i was taking liftoff. I swear with the shit stream i was pouring I felt like i was levitating off of my toilet seat. Also i saw an earwig on my floor which made the experience 10 times worse. the service was alright tho um pretty fast not gonna lie. and the ambiance was good and the girl at the bar reminded my cousin of abby lee miller which was actually so incredible. Overall I would not eat here unless your trying to have the worst bowl movement of your life, however it would make a good museum. ALSO THEY OFFERED POPCORN AT OUR TABLE EVEN THOUGH 2/4 OF US HAVE BRACES AND CAN'T EVEN EAT IT. Um unless your extremely constipated I would not recommend. read more

They really have the nicest 99 I have seen. Brand new and ready to go. Don't worry about a learning curve here. A lot of the staff has come In from other locations to make this one their home. We met Ali today and she is one of the 99 reasons why we will come back. They have a great menu at great prices. Some great deals on bar apps too. Really this place is what you have come to expect from the 99 and more. Can't wait to go back and get reacquainted with this new arrival in town. read more

I'm not impressed by the 99,s thinking they are the McDonald's of chain restaurants to me which was proven when I went Grabbed lunch in the new 99 Amesbury. I ordered the fish for lunch and it came out microwaved & stuck to the bottom of the plate. Sitting At the bar bartender was very nice. Didn't have the heart to send it back. Told Myself I should've known better. I won't be back. I hope they have gotten their microwave times better because that really was awful. read more

When this restaurant first opened, they were a great addition. Each time we've come, it's gotten worse. The staff are unprofessional talking about bathroom & personal issues. The bartender talking so loud, she's the center focus of the restaurant. Our food was terrible and our waitress could have helped if she came by to check on our food. Steak was chewy and all fat. Our drinks were straight sour mix and don't even think about trying to get another during the meal. (They'll have you waiting at least 15+ mins for another). Horrible service. Went 8/28, our poor server was very, very busy. Despite being slammed, she gave great service. Our food also was great. We toasted my Dad about the start of his Birthday weekend. Our server must have been walking by and heard. She was kind enough to buy my Dad's meal and wish him a Happy Birthday weekend. Kudos to her and the 99! For the first time, we just ate at the Amesbury 99, very disappointed. Husband and I got our go-to fish tacos...not sure where the fish was. Too much filler, no spice and about 3 ounces of fish for 3 tacos. Waitress was okay. We'll stick with Seabrook in the future. read more

I've always been a fan of 99's and it's one of the few chain restaurants that I'll hit up on occasion. This brand new location has a nice Amesbury atmosphere with photos of the town and area on the walls. The menu was your standard 99 fare...I usually stick to the basics here and stay away from the "fancier" stuff. The Boneless Gold Fever Wings are a MUST have!! The service and staff here was definitely on point and excellent. I'll totally be stopping back in here from time to time. read more

We have tried this location 2 times and not a great experience. We frequent the 99 in Haverhill 1 to 3 times a week. Tonight we just got the Ultimate nachos ( not Ultimate) last time my husband ordered the prime rib and I ordered the salmon. By the time we got it ice cold!!!! They remade it and my husbands was 1/3 the size and black overdone mine was over done and dried. They did comp the dinner but that was not the point just wanted a good meal ... tonight we decided to go to this 99 in Amesbury again not only were the Nachos not great but the glasses tasted like soap. So much work to be done. For now we will only go to the 99 in Haverhill! read more

This place started off really good and we were so excited but it's moving down our favorite place to go list real quick. For the past year countless tables are empty and it's 40-50 minutes wait. Ate at the 99 in Amesbury yesterday and had a very poor experience. The waitress/bar tender (Judy) was great but the food was not up to expectations. One of us ordered baked haddock - the first plate brought out the haddock was thin and so overdone it was crispy and the potatoes were cold. The second plate was hot, but the fish was still overcooked - the waitress did comp the meal. The salmon was good as was the fried haddock but the French fries were cold. Waitress did replace them with hot ones, but with a practically empty restaurant, couldn't it have been right the first time? The wedge salad was ok, but nothing outstanding. We have always had good meals at 99s, but it will be awhile before we return. read more

Had a lobster roll in the amesbury 99, it was not worth the money. It was full of lettuce and it was wilted, a lot of celery, and the lobster meat was probably worth $4.00. it was not even a whole chick lobster. Fries were cold and mushy. Pretty good mid-level restaurant. The 9.99 lunch (shrimp/cod) was just right. Comes with one side of choice. Everything good and hot. The place is big and noisy, many big screen TVs. We went during lunch, so it was crowded, but no waiting. I could have done without CNN (can't stand that station) but luckily we couldn't really hear it. Lovely waitress, (Kellie) knew what she was doing. Ideal location. No I didn't knock a star off because I was forced to look at CNN. This is a good, solid restaurant, not a dining experience of a lifetime. I'll most likely return. read more

I went to the 99 in Amesbury on 1/23 for a late lunch as it was convenient to other errands. I had taken a half day at work. I picked my 4 year old son up and spent the afternoon with him. The 99 is generally good with kids, and this day was no exception. Our server Megan was especially great. She was patient while my son attempted to order his food, and when checking in with us always smiled and made eye contact with him. The food was good, service was fast, and Megan was easily and happily able to accommodate us. I was so appreciative of her smile, patience, and easy going personality.
