Very organized looking grocery store. Had a tough time getting help. Produce looked very fresh. I would appreciate if they could offer more assistance. They had a lot of sample tables which is a definite perk. Parking is cutthroat around this parking lot. I came to the bakery side for milk tea boba and then store to buy some snacks. The bakery section does not have the same buy 5 get 1 free deal as the other one in Golden West avenue. But they do have some sales for bread, pastries, and cakes. They also have a self service baked sweet potatoes which you put into a paper bag. Milk tea boba was actually pretty big, the straw was barely tall enough but works. Very good milk tea, wish it had more boba, I drank it pretty fast, and noticed it had a lot of ice. The store usually has a lot of sample stations during the weekend, I went Friday and there wasn't any. I like trying the deals before buying them too, helps understand if it's worth it and also, I want to make sure if I have to cook anything that I'll do it right! Sometimes there's good deals on frozen foods and seafood, my dad even said some of the deals are pretty good. The place is spacious and clean, i appreciate the seafood staff asking if we need anything and to play along when my son likes to just stare at the fish heads. Great addition to the mall! Love the fact they have a full-service meat and seafood section. They have a variety of Asian snacks, produce, fruits, etc. They also have a separate area for takeout food, bakery, and ready to eat meals. It also has some seating. Great for a quick lunch or bite. My favorites are the baos and yams! Parking may be an issue since it shares the lot with the rest of the mall. But I believe they have some spots for 99 ranch customers. read more

The 99 Ranch is located inside the shopping center, with convenient cashier stations on two entrances. They carry all the essential goods here, however, the temperate inside is too hot for grocery store, some of the vegetables and fruits feel warm, and it wouldn't feel cool even around the frozen sections. read more

Be careful parking here!!! I stopped by to look around and eventually go into the mall as well. This 99 Ranch does have designated parking spots for their guests which is convenient yet I think anyone parks in them. Their selection of items are okay yet not a very big store. The workers don't really talk to you even at check out, they were too busy talking to each other and just asking for you to pay. Once I left, my car windows got smashed and car got broken into. The police showed up and they said 7+ cars in the row just got broken into as well. Once I asked if the stores have cameras, they said they do yet the quality is so bad that you can't see anything. They also said they've been having 7+ car break ins a night! Are you kidding me?! They really need to up the security or something if this is something commonly happening! read more

Haven't been here for awhile and had fun going through each aisle exploring what they had. They had unique snacks and ramen- great selection. Different kit kats, spices, oils very multicultured. As you go through the aisles, you'll see stickers with "Manager's special" giving selected items a good discount. Came around 8:30aish- no line and fully stocked. 8 out of 10 for me. I am writing a review for their ready to eat area located inside the mall. I entered through the market from the parking lot (by cheesecake factory) and into the place where they sold their ready to eat hot foods. I have never ordered from there as this is my first time going. This is located in the mall so it can be noisy, but it's casual. I'm also not that tall. I sat on one of the high top tables and they didn't have enough foot resting places in my opinion. I tried their $4.99 shrimp dumplings (ha gow) of their dim sum options and $9.99 Hainan chicken bowl. Their ha gow was not fresh, tasted old and was texturely not the same as a dim sum restaurant. Their Hainan chicken rice bowl contained pickled daikon and what looked like peanuts and not edamame. I did not like the rice bowl. The rice was hard and texture was hard and grainy. After tax, I spent a little over $16. I did not eat more than 4 bites of the bowl and 1 bite of the dumplings. I went back and asked for a refund because everything tasted old. They were only able to refund me one of the dishes and said not to get it if I don't like it next time. How was i supposed to know as this was my first time (which I've also stated that) buying their foods. read more

Really nice and likely the fanciest 99 Ranch I've been to! On weekends they have samples so definitely come and try out those. Getting in is pretty annoying though because it is at the mall and parking is INSANE. You'd really have to park all the way in the back unless you come early. I did notice some prices of certain items here costs more than the other 99 Ranch on Naomi, namely the famous viral peach ice cream dessert. First time seeing a 99 Ranch like this: eye-rolling and slamming the door If Santa Anita Mall's 99 Ranch can't stay open until 10 PM, then don't list your closing time as 10 PM. The store clearly says it closes at 10:00 PM, but at around 9:40 PM, I was just walking over to buy two face masks when the door was suddenly shut right in front of me. What made it worse was that there were still customers inside. The staff was leaving a small gap in the door just to let people out. I simply wanted to ask, politely, "Are you already closed?" But before I could even say much, a staff member in red rolled her eyes at us and then slammed the door shut right in front of our faces. That kind of attitude is honestly unbelievable. Closing early is already unacceptable. Acting rude to customers on top of that, with no explanation and no basic courtesy, is even worse. I've been to many 99 Ranch locations over the years, and I have never seen service this bad. If this is how this store operates, then maybe don't open at all. There's another 99 Ranch basically right nearby, and people can just go there instead of dealing with this kind of treatment. The 99 ranch bakery cafe is located right in front from the mall entrance. We stopped at the cafe first. Curb appeal! It's hard not to stop and see what's going on in here. Displays are inviting especially when you haven't had breakfast yet. Lots of options for lunch on the go. We decided to try a few dumplings. They were okay. Then we ordered some drinks. To our surprise a regular tea was still the same price with or without boba.. this didn't make sense but still went with it. Now I'll know for next time.. stick to the pastries. While this mall is a playground of Asian cuisines I would save your appetite for those. Theres great potential and room for improvement here. First one can be changing the price of "with boba" and "without boba." The market itself was sleek and clean. Isles sort of sparkled with the lighting. There's a parking entrance and mall entrance. Newest 99 Ranch Chinese supermarket is also one of the best (ranks up there with the new-ish one in downtown Alhambra). Very clean aisles, shelves, meat and seafood counters. The seafood and produce are especially varied and fresh; I bought a whole striped bass, mushrooms, pork spareribs, and napa cabbage and cooked a splendid meal, better than a lot of restaurants (I love to cook.) I was glad to find some dim sum at the 99 Ranch food court in Arcadia Santa Anita mall next to the supermarket . I ordered some dim sum, total price was over $33. I asked for two hot water , they have the coffee station there with hot tea served . I was told they can't give us hot water , I offered to buy hot water , the teller told me they don't sell hot water . With our Chinese culture , most senior would prefer hot water over ice water . Opening a food court selling dim sum but refuse to provide or sell hot water, I found it very unreasonable. I've been taking my mom here whenever she needs me to take her to the grocery, and to my surprise she finds almost anything that she needs that she would expect to need to go to the Filipino supermarket for. This supermarket is clean and the prices are really good too. A lot of Asian markets in the area have been pretty dirty in comparison, so this is a nice change. I would def come back here for my Asian supermarket needs. read more

The store is very clean and tidy, but their products are a little pricier compared to other markets. The best part is getting some samples to decide if you want to buy the products! A solid 5 stars! Never knew I would actually enjoy grocery shopping at the mall and let alone a chain. Lo and behold, it's popping on a Friday evening. Love that they even have a bakery right across from the store, as well. Prices are fair and similar to other locations. (+) What I like about this particular 99 ranch is that it also carries ChiaTe- a highly ranked and sought after pineapple cake brand that historically would only be sold in Taiwan. I have also found harder to find Japanese KitKats here, as well. This is easily one of my favorite 99 Ranch stores simply because of what it offers and based on its unique location, it feels like a flagship store. As for meat and fish selection, I am not able to comment in terms of selection/ value. read more

This market is sooooo clean and organized! We spent a lot of time wandering the aisles looking through the vast varieties of Asian foods. My husband asked question after question about items he's never seen before. We were tempted to buy some cute, tasty looking things but sadly we were limited due to our drive back to SCV. We were especially impressed by the B&F Bakery and Cafe located just outside the entrance inside the mall. The pastries were fresh and generously sized. It was very busy, but the staff were friendly and moved everyone along nicely. This is one of the cleanest ranch 99. Their food area is outside the grocery store and down the hallway. I tried their malantang and it came with plenty of lamb, fish tofu, regular fried tofu, glass noodles, napa cabbage and a variety of assorted meatballs for hotpot. I honestly wasn't sure how this was going to work out when I saw their "99 ranch coming soon" sign during construction and having a supermarket at the mall. Envision shopping carts all over the parking lot...the smell of seafood wafting through the mall...ugh. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how nice it was when I came by today. It's clean and well maintained, and while it does have the Asian market smell, it wasn't as bad as I expected. Yes it's smaller and has less merchandise than a traditional 99 Ranch, but for your basic goods, it will fit the bill. Maybe the hype has died down because it wasn't crowded and people seem to be respectful with leaving their shopping carts back at the store entrance (I did see a couple carts sitting in the parking lot) or having someone pull their car up at the rear entrance so they could load their groceries into the car and not have to take the cart into the lot. I was surprised to see their butcher meat section have hot pot items and a selection of A5 Japan Wagyu and American Wagyu for sale. Never have I ever seen Wagyu in a market so that was impressive. I bought some cubed Wagyu in the refrigerated area for the family to enjoy and the price for it was better than the big slices behind the glass. I wouldn't go out of my way to just shop at this market, but it honestly is convenient if you're already at the mall and want to pick up a few groceries on your way home to save yourself a trip to a separate market somewhere else. read more

When I heard that they were going to open a 99 Ranch Market at this mall, I thought it was such an insane idea. The mall is already so fisted with people and finding parking, so having another huge heavy hitter here (when there's an H-mart nearby AND a different 99 Ranch Market) was just mind boggling to me. I can't imagine someone going out of their way to specifically go to this location unless they were already at the mall (maybe that's their goal) or maybe I'm wrong. This 99 Ranch Market has its own entrance and is a 2 part entity with the hot food deli, bento boxes, and bakery separated in the mall. I've been to a newer 99 Ranch Market in NorCal and the sheer size and "newness" of this location is quite novel and nice, I have to admit. It's much cleaner, modern, and up to date. There's lots of cashiers in the mall entrance as well as the parking lot entrance. They also have self-check out which I rarely ever see at Asian grocery stores. Some definite eye catchers, as noted by social media, is their meats section which has wagyu beef and pre-marinated/seasoned meats as well. Both this meat section and seafood section are displayed nicely and, of course, by virtue of being newly opened, it's much more modern and cleaner than the 99 Ranch(es) down the street from me. Aside from these differences and their ice cream selection (don't think I've seen a lot of what they have near me), it's the same old 99 Ranch Market you can find anywhere. Convenient if you're already at the mall, but once again, can't imagine someone going out of the way to go to this one. read more

"99 Ranch Market" is a 'Top-Shelf' Chinese Market in Arcadia. When I was 11, growing up here in the '626', my eclectic father would be lucky to find Tofu, or even fresh Daikon in this area. Now it's not even an issue. Now, one can find live Blue Crabs in a bucket, Live Carp in a Tank, and live Pacific Oysters in two dozen sacks for $12.99. As Far as ASIAN GROCERIES Go: This Place is 'The Bomb!" An "Information Resource" can mean many things, from a counter behind which stand a person in front of a computer terminal, who looks up whatever you ask about, - to an "Expert" on the Area or Specific Location in question, who can answer your inquiries from the details they know in their head. 99 Ranch Market in Arcadia falls into the 'Later Category'. Wow... what a nice surprise to have a 99 Ranch Market at The Shop in Santa Anita mall! Thanks to another Yelpie who recently checked it out, hence, that's how I found out about it. Whoever came up with the idea, kudos to them!!! Now you can shop for name brands and do grocery shopping at the same visit. There are two entrances... one on the south side near Nordstrom and the other on the east side near Cheesecake Factory. When I first saw this 99 Ranch, it looked amazing from the outside because I felt like I was window shopping not for clothes, but for groceries LOL. It's not as big as a standard 99 Ranch, but it has pretty good coverage of foods. Fresh produce with organics. Fresh live seafood in tanks. Frozen and refrigerated items. Hotpot meats and fish balls ready for grabs. Tons of snacks and drinks. There is a deli right across the mall way that belongs to 99 Ranch. They sell hot meals, cakes, pastries, and much more. They have a dining area for customers only. Staff was friendly. Ambiance was bright and clean. There is a security guard at the south entrance. I didn't see one at the east entrance, but there could be one. I also saw a self-checkout area which is a first for me especially for an Asian market. That requires lots of trust. Anyway, I'll definitely be back here the next time I'm at The Shop in Santa Anita. Just a tip... you may want to park as close to the 99 Ranch as possible so you can put away your groceries prior to shopping elsewhere or vice versa. This place was so FUN. I'm at the age where I consider grocery shopping a social event so having a Ranch 99 in a mall is like heaven to me! Grab a Uniqlo moon bag then a bag of frozen dumplings in the same building, that's Asian Americana at its finest (this is not what I did or anything... totally...). I went to this Ranch 99 about a month after its grand opening, and they were still running crazy deals and free samples. They even had the Banana Milk tumbler that went viral on social media a few weeks ago. I got a six-pack of Taiwan fruit beer for $7.99, which is way cheaper than any other grocery store I've seen at any other time. Everything is neatly stacked and very clean, and they seem to have a large selection of items. I chatted with some of the workers and they were all very friendly. Malls in Asia have clothing and grocery stores under the same roof, and this Ranch 99 is proof that more American malls need to follow in their footsteps! read more

Located in Santa Anita Mall, this market is super convenient to get any Asian groceries you need! I absolutely adored the layout and cleanliness of the market, and was blown away by the variety of groceries! Staff is also friendly! It was very nice that I could find not only Taiwanese groceries, but Korean, Filipino, Japanese, and more as well! This took over the Forever 21 that use to be 2 stories and now the bottom floor is a market! I ended up swinging by during their Grand Opening and hell, it was crazy... There were food samples and their deli section was opened with discounted to go food and bakery items. The market had a lot of selections of produce, meat and seafood. The ambiance is nice. The interior is very modern and clean. I would come back again but I'll probably avoid the weekends. read more

Newly opened 99 Ranch Market that can be found at the Santa Anita Mall (or what is now known as The Shops at Santa Anita), specifically right across from Gold's Gym. This market opened last weekend but wanted to visit after the grand opening. So my husband and I came on Tuesday evening, around 7:50 pm. Although it was busy, it was not crowded. This location is a little smaller than the other one on Golden West and Naomi. There is also a Bread Farm bakery but it is across from this market instead of inside like the other location (you can also find some hot food here like rice bowls, sesame balls and buns). Because this market is new, everything is neat and tidy, no off smell in the seafood and meat department, the aisles are nice and wide, overall the layout and look of this location is modern. The produce section is clean and has plenty of good quality fruit displayed. There are registers to check out at both the front and back entrance. If you are are shopping at this mall and wanted to pick up some grocery items, this location is convenient and may save you a trip to visiting the other market. read more

Stopped by on Saturday, 02/03/24 for the second time. My mom never visited this 99 Ranch before so I showed her around. Located inside the Westfield Santa Anita mall (aka the Arcadia mall), this place is conveniently located so that customers can purchase produce, seafood, and food/pastries to go! There were a bunch of Chinese/Lunar New Year decors and snacks inside. The bakery is located outside of the actual store (literally right across). I noticed that some of their pastries are new to me and I've never seem them around in my local 99 Ranch. Additionally, there were a bunch of snacks and drinks I've never seen before inside the store - this place has everything! In general, the price is ok depending on what you're getting. We purchased 2 packs of the 26/30 frozen shrimp because it was on sale ($8.88 per bag!). I also bought green tea/matcha soft serve and ate it while walking around the mall (also on sale - sooooo goood!) When going back to to the store the matcha soft serve was almost out! read more

99 Ranch Market just held its grand opening on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Shops at Santa Anita and the weekend crowds were insane and wild. There are currently great promos and limited-time sales for the grand opening. The grand opening included $25 gift cards to the first 100 customers, a $5 off coupon (for future use) for new members, which I signed up, a live bluefin tuna cutting show, and lion dancing. Located on the first floor where Forever 21 was formerly located, it is closer to Benihana. There's also a bakery and hot deli that is across the way. Overall, the prices are a bit higher since it is inside the mall. The close alternative is the other 99 Ranch Market that is literally 6 minutes away at 1300 South Golden West Avenue that actually has more options and products that are not available in this current store (e.g. fresh noodles and bitermelon, etc). read more

Went for the Grand Opening because I guess I'm a glutton for punishment. I've never gotten run over by shopping carts so many times in my life in one day. Holy smokes was it packed! The benefit is that there is plenty of parking since the location is the Westfield Santa Anita Mall. There are plenty of promotions going on for certain items like $6/lb snow crab legs, 3 for $1 green onion and large frozen scallops for $10. The isles are plenty wide so opposing cards can slide past each other easily. Glad there was plenty of staff this day directing traffic as it was pandemonium one line for all the registers. Crowds gathered around sample stations dispersed through the store. It was a large store but for this grand opening a bit of a stressful shopping experience. If you want to do a lookie loos it's not worth it, plan on buying groceries by going to another 99 ranch location until the hype settles down. read more
