IMO, it has good produce, at least as of today, and I was able to grab a good amount of pretty good-quality hot pot ingredients. Back again to my favorite seafood market. I was on my way…read morehome from work and wanted to grab something to eat before heading home. I wanted something quick, but not fast food. I knew I wanted seafood or something similar. Right away it came to my mind. A fried fish would sound good right now. I headed to my favorite seafood market to get me a fried fish and some fried shrimp. The perfect combination. This place never disappoints the fish is always well seasoned and well cooked. I usually get 1 pound of shrimp with head on but today they didn't have it so I went with the headless shrimp. For 2 fried tilapia and 1 pound of shrimp the check came out too $24. You can't beat that. I highly recommend everyone to stop by and try it. If you're in the area, they also have other kinds of fish they can fry for you. Service is always great here.

This market is really really really a hole in the wall. Everything looks wrong in this place. It needs new paint, new floors, smells bad, looks bad but I haven't got sick yet so I'll keep on going back! Here's why I love this place. You go in, pick out what fish you want, give it to the dude behind the counter, he weights it, gives you a receipt, you go pay, in the mean time the dude is frying up your fish. It come out SOOO good! They season it up with god knows what (and i don't care) and throw some onion-cilantro stuff on it! It turns out beautifully! I always get the baby octopus, fried and talapia. Is the fish fresh? Who know! Who cares. My taste buds know what they like, and they like this place!

I came in today 45 minutes before close and saw that they had the costillas priced on sale for $11.99 so I figured I would grab a couple of pounds. When it came time to checkout I saw they charged for regular price. When I asked the worker why I was being charged full price when the price on the display said it was on sale for $11.99, she replied that it was for tomorrow (Friday). She pulled out a sheet and showed me that it was indeed for Friday, but I don't get how an establishment can falsely advertise its deals and hit you with the "bait n switch" at the end without any sort of effort to correct the mistake. I don't mind paying regular price. However, I do have an issue when a price is clearly being listed on your items and then charging another price at checkout. This experience started off well, but ended off on a sour note. Enough to make me not want to come back and explore other options in the area. I hope they address this issue in the future to prevent other potential customers from being blindsided.

I love eating skewers and found this place local on my way to/from work. Thought i tried it out. I…read morecouldn't give it a full 5 stars because I didn't think I fully got the taste of the meat. Let me explain. So I've been wanting to go and pick up the food at least to try the lamb and beef skewers. Well, we finally did at 4:30pm. (1) that's not enough time to thaw out the meat to cook at 7pm. I had to run the meat under running water which I know made the meat not taste good. But I had no other option. (2) the portion of meat on the skewers were good portion. The two ladies at the counter was very helpful. Looks like the place totally focus on meat...for KBBQ or for Hotpot. So I'm going to come back and try it again. This time I'll plan ahead and get the meat a day before or in the morning so it has time to thaw. Glad it's local and in my area. I recommend a little planning.

Do not be intimidated. For my non-Mandarin speaking friends, you will be able to get what you need…read morein a jiffy. Discovered this little shop from my cousin and had to go there for myself. Located on busy Garvey, in between San Gabriel Ave. and New. Right next to the McDonalds. Parking is tight, 10-15 cars maximum, but plenty of street parking. The entire store front is in Mandarin, all the signals inside is as well. Only bits of English on some merchandise they sell that is non-meat. When you enter: 1. Service counter straight ahead is for all cuts of lamb and beef. I did not venture into this portion since I didn't need any of that. 2. Small side table on the left with the plethora of freezers and fridges is where you will need to go. There is signage of the floor that marks for social distancing, woot woot! Staff all wearing masks and patrons entering and exiting store were too! Hand sanitizer provided, really happy with this spot. There is a menu on the left where the second small service counter is. And I believe it's telling you the cuts of meat and then there's numbers next to it for price. You just need to know the basics: beef and lamb/1, 2, or 3 lbs. I walked in, no greeting (typically for Chinese markets), told the lady at the counter, "3lbs beef, 3lbs lamb", she confirmed it by repeating it back in English and proceeded to the freezer where the meats were placed pre sliced and packaged. My total was $49. One tray was $24 and one tray was $25. Guessing lamb is $25 since it's always a little pricier. Paid in cash, my meats were bagged and I was on my merry way. This is the place to go for hot pot/shabu shabu thinly sliced meats. Trust me. Parking: tight and limited, plenty of street parking Service: you can't beat the quick service and minimal interaction Quality: best meat I have ever had for hot pot Please give them a try and support small businesses.
