I love the decor here! It fits the aesthetic as soon as you walk in. Artsy with a flair. There wasn't a wait, we were seated immediately. Such a nice, clean, warm, open space. The seating is perfect because it doesn't feel overcrowded. Though the restaurant wasn't full when we arrived. The crowd swelled eventually. I would've given this place 5 stars if the service was better. We were a party of two. Both lovers of Thai cuisine and 8thai was next on our list. What a delight! My Pad See Ew with chicken was delicious! I also had some chili oil on the side, which had some spice but so yummy. The papaya salad was just okay, but everything else otherwise was awesome. I especially love the window seating, it's a great option if you're dining solo and want to people watch. I'll be back again. I recommend this place for good Thai food and decent prices. I hope to try their duck next time.

Pad Woon Sen just ok, I had much better

I'm kinda shocked about the good reviews based on the two dinners my husband and I ordered. We had the chicken rama otherwise known as Pra Ram and pad woon sen. The chicken in the chicken Rama dish was very dry and the sauce was no where near as good as it's supposed to be. Pra Ram is supposed to taste like peanut butter and be creamy in texture. The sauce in my dish was watery, and it didn't taste anything like peanut butter. I suggest the chef go to Thai Diner in Clark and see how that dish is actually supposed to be made. The pad woon sen was just ok , but not nearly as good as it's supposed to be. The sauce to that dish had no flavor and not nearly as good as it's supposed to be. There are far better Thai restaurants out there so I don't recommend this one.

Ordered to go, but inside was well decorated and has a nice ambiance. Looked like a great spot for a date night so I would recommend dining in if you can. The food was good, overall tasty. I liked the curry more than the noodles actually, in which we tried pad Thai and pad see ew. Their Thai iced tea is very good too as I got to try that. Parking is available with a small lot on the side but the main street can get busy.

I may be a sucker for Thai food but this is up there with some of the best Thai food I have ever had. The inside was super clean and modern with plenty of seating. The service was prompt and all food came out piping hot. The mummy shrimp was out of this world. The outer layer almost tasted like a frosted mini wheat deep fried around a shrimp, insanely good! The shrimp pad Thai had a classic taste and was nothing too special but great nonetheless. The pineapple fried rice with chicken was so fresh and had cashew nuts that added that extra crunch and dimension to a super flavorful dish. I had lychee lemonade for the first time ever and it was amazing! It almost has a white peach type of flavor but it's not too sweet and super refreshing. Definitely recommend stopping by 8 Thai for a date night or even a work party!

Delicious dinner - country style noodles with tofu and red curry w tofu. Food was delicious served quickly, and it was hot. My 6th time here.

Lovely restuarant with a very cute interior. I ordered food for pickup and the person who took my order was very helpful. The dishes I ordered were a solid 3. The shrimp mummy were a good size but I can tell they fry everything in the same pot and they don't swap the oil out often. All in all, I wouldn't order again. The Pad se Ew with chicken had a very deep molasses taste. It was ok but the chicken was very overcooked.

My usual Thai place had been lacking so I decide to try this one. Ordered a chicken pad see ew, a chicken pad Thai and sticky rice with mango. The entrees were tasty and portions were a good size. I was left disappointed in the dessert. For the cost It was tiny and did not look appetizing. The taste left a lot to be desired. The rice was a purple rice which was fine but the grains were hard, sticky rice should be chewy. I would come here again just skip the dessert.

8Thai is a great addition to the Cranford, NJ dining scene! Cool ambience and tasty food! It has so many options that if you're unsure about Thai food or are a first Thai-mer, you'll be just fine! With their extensive menu, there's something for everyone. BYOB helps keep the cost down, which is a plus these days! The noise level can be a make or break for me, and here it was just right! It was noticeable how hard the waitresses were working, which was admirable. We will be back! PS Do NOT leave without trying their Thai ice tea! Incredibly good and oh so refreshing!

Always on the hunt for a great Thai spot - I came in here for a date night after seeing it had recently opened. The restaurant itself is quite large and beautiful designed. They have plant murals on the wall and a fun neon sign. Booth seating, stand alone tables and counter-style seating with green velvet chairs. Reservations were pretty easy to make. Street parking is available nearby. The food itself was pretty average. Ordered -Roti Massaman: probably the most flavorful of all the items ordered, no fried onion topping as listed -Pad Thai: good portion size, a bit too dry -Spicy Basil: good portion size, could've used more flavor Dessert- Thai tea crème brûlée: the fruit on top complimented the Thai tea flavor very well The restaurant is a BYOB, which I noticed several customers took advantage of - wine bottles, steel bottles, etc. They didn't charge a cork fee which was nice. Will continue my hunt but keep this place in mind for group dinners.

Ordered 8Thai for pickup on a Friday. Took about 45 minutes. The food was spectacular!! The appetizers stayed crispy even though we did takeout. The spring rolls were incredible. I loved my pepper and garlic beef. The sauce was so garlicky and the food tasted fr so. Can't wait to dine in here! So happy for this new addition to Cranford.

This was hands down one of the best meals I've had in ages and probably the top 2 Thai restaurants I've ever been to. We ordered so much food, assuming we would take at least half of it home, but had a hard time stopping and nearly finished it all before we left. The staff was so lovely - happy, friendly people. We had: -Green papaya salad - perfect balance and just the right amount of spice (level 1) -Chicken Larb - level 1 -also perfect -Red curry chicken, substituted the bell peppers with Chinese broccoli - level 2 - perfect heat and consistency of the sauce -Street cabbage - wok charred with a garlicky sauce- such a simple dish but so much flavor. -Thai fried rice - straightforward & delicious 10 out of 10 -no notes. Delicious from start to finish. Next time I'll BYOB. Thank you That's Thai Food - can't wait to come back!

The flavors were pretty good yet the rice was not as fluffy and was too chunky for us. We continue to go many miles out of our way to get Thai and I just hope this place gets it right. Also - many of their dishes do not include the rice which is shameful. All Thai restaurants I've visited include rice with the dish. They should host a Yelp elite event to gather honest feedback.

The restaurant had only a few people when we walked in. Two of us arrived first and we were seated immediately while waiting for the third person, who came about 5 minutes later. I mention this detail because a lot of restaurants are strict about not seating you until the entire party arrives (I appreciate Nakorn for not sweating the small stuff). It was my second time and their first time (per my suggestion). We're all foodies so I was confident they'd enjoy! And I was right :) For starters, we shared a curry puff appetizer (3 pieces). Small size, BIG flavor!! Especially paired with the pickled sauce. Chef's kiss! For our main dishes - I had the Chicken Pad See Ew and they tried the Mixed Seafood Pad See Ew (shrimp, scallops, and mussels). Everything was delicious!!! Had it not been for the intriguing conversation around the table, we easily would not have any leftovers to take home. It is a BYOB establishment, so we brough Sake and enjoyed it in the wine glasses provided by Nakorn. I love downtown Summit and all of its foodie glory, but if you've ever been, you know what parking is like. Free after 6pm Monday - Saturday and free all day Sunday. There's a small lot directly across the street from Nakorn, which is convenient. Be intentional though, the parking spaces go fast.

My go to order at a Thai restaurant is always Yellow Curry, papaya salad and fried rice. This was one of the most flavorful curry dishes I have had in a long time. Every sip exploded in your mouth. The dish in question was a dish called Pad Mee Duck and I've had it prior many times, but in other restaurants. What I received was steaming hot, but gloppy in texture and overly sweet. The duck had been deep fried, then sliced. It was in a shell of some kind of breading, maybe panko but the oil in the deep fat fryer was burnt tasting. Perhaps it should be changed more often? The noodles instead of being stir fried and crispy were sodden and listless. There was a disconnect somewhere between recipe and execution. Both were lacking. The vegetables, typical Asian style were just that. Typical. Not very fresh. But the duck was inedible and this dish was far from inexpensive. Don't order this preparation. It really needs work.
