Chipotle Mexican Grill is better, even with the listeria that they seem to serve patrons all the time. Portion sizes are small in relation to the cost of the item. Service - Poor. I called the evening prior to a lunchtime pickup for my small office. "We request that you don't make a lot of alterations." & "We require 24 hours notice (It was 6:30pm for a noon pickup the next day), but you didn't know that so we can continue" & "Oh, because your order is over $150 we charge an automatic 10% gratuity." If your food was phenomenal - I wouldn't care about how much $ it is or how you nickel and dime your customers like an airline carrier. I wouldn't even write a review, I would tell everyone how awesome your food is. If your service was just "okay" - I wouldn't care. It's a burrito joint. The only thing I care about feeling is not feeling hungry. But the service wasn't okay - it was pathetic. I would have love to order online to avoid calling your hired help, but that feature doesn't work either. I thought I would feel better writing this, but now I'm just getting hungry. My friend and I had been road tripping through Maine and were ready for lunch. A few minutes before we came to this place, we had gone in to another place just up the street and had been ignored by the host, so we left. Guess they didn't want our business! They stuff these suckers good. Will fall apart unless you're careful, but then you get like an after salad coarse so it's all good. I just moved here and have been trying out all of the restaurants on Main Street. This restaurant is my least favorite. Wraps/burritos are just average, nothing special. If you want quantity this is your place, but if you want quality go somewhere else. The chicken in my wrap was dry and unseasoned. The sauce was good in it, there just wasn't enough in it. I looked up vegetarian places on yelp and this popped up. We were driving back from Arcadia national park and passing back through Ellsworth so stopped for a bite before they closed. I had a tasty veggie burrito, i couldn't finish it all! Yam I Am: roasted spicy sweet potato, black beans, rice, pico de gallo, avocado, chipotle creme, it comes with cheddar/jack but I added feta instead. It was delicious. I went to 86 This for quite a few months to get nachos and the occasional burrito. It's got kind of an 'older indie rock kid' vibe going on. The food isn't authentic (although it doesn't really bill itself as such) and I thought it was satisfying enough to warrant coming back. The thing that ended my going to 86 This was when I came in and saw that one of their staff was wearing a shirt that said 'Infidel' and the same thing in Arabic. *Especially* given the current political climate, I did not feel good eating at a restaurant where one of the staff felt so comfortable exhibiting such open animosity toward Muslims. Rice and beans inside a wrap does not make a burrito. The wrap was doughy, the fillings did not taste good together. Also most of the fillings were near fridge cold. My recommendation to the owners is to swap to real tortillas and put a little care into the ingredients, or just stick with wraps. Very disappointing read more

Ummm WOW is all I can say. These burritos were arguably some of the best my boyfriend and I have ever had. We were visiting Maine and had an hour trip and decided to stop here rather than a fast food chain to grab food. I got the rockabilly and my boyfriend got the veggie sweet potato burrito. My burrito had a chimicurri sauce with protein rice and beans. On the outside it seemed like a regular burrito but the flavors were well developed and packed a punch. My boyfriend also loved his sweet potato burrito, and thought it was the best burrito he's ever eaten. It took a few minutes while the chefs were making it, but I don't mind knowing it was all cooked ready to order and fresh. Currently they are only offering take out and outdoor seating, so we took our burritos to go. We were extremely pleased and sad we live so far away making it difficult to come back anytime soon. read more

I had the huge BOSS HOGG BURRITO and SPITTING VENOM CHILI. The burrito was delicious for lunch and dinner. This place rocks. The perfect dinner stop on our way out of Acadia Nat'l park, 86 This has delicious casual food that's healthy to boot. For example, my Mountain Goat wrap was in a spinach tortilla with herbs, mixed greens, goat cheese, and assorted veg (cucumber, carrot, etc.). My husband had the Boss Hog which was pretty tasty, though I enjoyed mine much more. I'd only minus half a star for portion size which was on the smaller side imo. But, they get the full 5 for also serving and selling 44 North, a local coffee roaster from Deer Island in Maine. It's brewed in batch in a themos and for $2 for hot (and $3 for iced) it is one tasty tasty cup. We brought some beans home to keep our memories alive. read more

We had a plate of nachos with the vegetarian chili and avocado, which was plenty for the two of us. Everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked delicious, and their service and staff are very good and friendly. The drive from Mount Desert Island was definitely worth it--we only wish we'd discovered this place earlier on our trip so we could avoid Bar Harbor food at least one or two more times!! read more

Outstanding burritos! My girlfriend and I decided to eat here while staying in the Ellsworth area to visit Acadia. She had the Yam I am and I had the Boss Hog. The burritos are huge and we didn't need a side dish. The yam I am was very good and had a great mixture of flavors. The boss hog was massive and had great flavor. The pork was super good and all of the other ingredients tasted great. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in the area! If you want a calmer night and want to avoid the crowds at Bar Harbor, I cannot recommend this place enough! read more
