Sad, the neighborhood has changed and this place is past its prime. Walking into 8/10 Bar & Grille in Everett, MA, on what should have been a lively evening felt less like a night out and more like wandering into an abandoned movie set, leaving a profoundly depressing impression. Tucked away on a one-way side street off Broadway, the dimly lit dining room with its classic red-and-white checkered tablecloths was entirely devoid of life; there wasn't a single other customer insight, and the low, muffled hum of the bar TVs only amplified the crushing silence. While the lone bartender was perfectly polite, the echoing sound of our own footsteps and the hollow clinking of silverware made the massive, over-sized portions of steak tips and chicken parmesan feel less like a comforting meal and more like a somber final dinner in a local institution fighting a quiet, losing battle against a summer slowdown. Watching the staff stare blankly at the door waiting for customers who never arrived cast a heavy, melancholic shadow over the entire evening, turning what is usually praised as a hidden neighborhood gem into a thoroughly isolating and disheartening dining experience. The food that I got was too salty not hot and didn't taste good. The service was not good. The waitress was not pleasant and took too long to get our drinks and our food. I was very disappointed in my overall experience. I will never recommend this restaurant. read more

Have known about 8/10 for a long time, and now with Uber eats its easier to go... So the other night ordered some Take out (I know Take out from Real Restaurants is always hit or miss) We ordered a ton of apps and some dinners and the BF got a burger. So all the apps were $10 and I get the whole new Small Plates Phenomena that has taken over the world but I literally paid $10 for plates that consisted of 3 things - I wish I had known that I would have made other choices... Shrimp Scampi was tasty - Stuff Mushrooms were Ok but really just bummed I paid $10 for 3 of them. Steak tips I asked for Med Rare - but there was no Medium to them, it was all Rare and like not even cooked on the outside and Cold... Sides were Blah, so I imagine this is a place where Take out just isnt the best option, I would def try again and eat in to be able to give a better review. Cute little place across the parkway from my grandmothers. The food was actually pretty great! Went as a party of four, started with Artichoke, Calamari & Coconut Shrimp for appetizers. I ordered the chicken penne broccoli in garlic white wine sauce. Was delicious. Super friendly waitress as well. Ambiance was the only thing that really needed any improvement. read more

This is one review I've been looking forward to writing. I first learned about 8/10 Bar & Grille at the FOX25 ZipTrip on a Fri morn in downtown Everett. After talking to the owner, Rich Sasso, I told him I'd probably check out the restaurant "sooner rather than later." Well, my brother just came in from out of town and I took both he, and my mother there, less than a few hours later, and I'm glad I did. Now, I write this review, and give it 5 stars, not as an aficionado of "fine Italian dining" but, simply, as a guy who likes Italian food and has eaten at a LOT of restaurants in a LOT of different places. 1. While the 8/10 is ironically ensconced between 3-4 taquerias, the outside will fade away the moment you step inside. While not large, it makes good use of its space. It avoids the fake Italian decorations that try to make you think you're in Italy. Instead, you'll find a pleasant assortment of Sinatra/Rat Pack era photos gracing the walls with Sinatra music playing in the background. 2. While not a drinker, I know a good, well-stocked bar when I see one. It's a long bar, too, with 3 TV's and, at present, the kind of bartender who seems glad to see you there and makes sure you know you're welcome back. Whether it was a coincidence, or not, the owner was there, as well and, coming from a family business, that's a big plus to me, as well. 3. The menu is full of all kinds of options and, for a very reasonable price, portions are large. They even have a separate "wing menu" with wing creations like "Parmesan & Garlic" and "Hawaiian." The sauce on the fried artichokes was a little too lemony for my taste but that can always be adjusted. Otherwise, we had a great late lunch and found it so pleasurable we stayed 3 hours (only because it wasn't full at that time ;) ) As for dessert, stay tuned! 4. The waitress was pleasant and very accomodating, the owner and bartender friendly, the prices and portions were excellent and the food was delicious. What more can you ask for? Valet Parking? Great little neighborhood spot. Looks like a total dive on the outside, but has a really nice wooden bar, and simple decor with tables with checker cloth on the inside. They have a great staff friendly waitresses and bartenders. I been told if I follow them on twitter they put their specials and other things on there. I brought my little brother here for a early birthday dinner last weekend. As always the staff was friendly and efficient. They have great customer service. The burgers are amazingly good. My two favorite is the and the blue cheese burger, those things are monsters good luck trying to finish it (I'll post a pic), and my brothers favorite the 8/10 burger, bacon, BBQ sauce, and caramelized onions. The sweet potato fries are great and additive and I only end up having a few. I actually never had a cocktail here, since I tend to carry out, and been here for lunch. They also have awesome pizzas. I plan to try their pasta dishes just haven't gotten around to it yet. My only compliant is I ordered out for the wings and they tough and undercooked. I was waiting a bit for my food so I don't know if they rushed or what. That has been my only compliment about them and I eaten here multiple times. I searched for a restaurant close to Encore because they don't really have good restaurants and I found 8/10 grill. I read so many reviews I was convinced I was going to get a good meal well I was mistaken, the only good thing was our waitress, she was so attentive, i don't know if because it was because we were the only other people dining. The prices are fine but the food is so lacking in taste just like a lot of restaurants lately. I will never trust reviews again and continue to stay home and do my own cooking. read more

I've been going here for a number of years now, the food has always been consistently great and it has become my favorite pub, bar none. Also, all the friends I have taken there rave about it and want to go back right away. I've had dishes from all over their menu and everything has been excellent. They have some of the best pizza in Massachusetts, their grilled meats are excellent, and even the side dishes are expertly prepared and flavorful. An Everett icon featuring traditional American and Italian specialties, they make pizza comparable (if not surpassing ) legendary places like Bianchi's and Santarpio's. They also offer excellent tips, chicken parm, turkey dinner and fresh fish -made any way you like on certain days. Everything is super fresh. Diners can order anything from appetizers to sandwiches to meals that rival most Boston restaurants. Steaks are great, Italian dishes and seafood are top notch and the mashed potatoes are real! The even have Mac & Cheese. Pizza is real pizza, not the cheese pies from other places. There is actually sauce on these pizzas. Great menu and tasty specials. Great place and great people. Just visiting town for a couple of days and dropped by for lunch. Everyone was so friendly like we were regulars. We had the eggplant parmesan and chicken marsala, lunch menu, and it was plenty of food and delicious. The chicken marsala was different than any I had ever had but thanks to Carlo for the suggestion. It was sweet and magnificent. We have been going to 8/10 for years and years. We have never had a bad meal here! Everything is delicious and homemade! If you are in the mood for a good home style meal their turkey dinner is to die for! They give you so much you can take most of it home for another meal! Their burgers were moist, huge and seasoned perfectly. My favorite is their Swiss and mushroom burger, with sweet potato fries. I was in heaven! I have also had the Reuben sandwiches, Pasta dinners appetizers and desserts. I mean it when I say you will not get a bad meal here! They have a full bar and wonderful staff working here. Went in tonight and ordered a small antipasto salad and a pizza with caramelized onions, mushrooms and extra cheese well for starters there was basically no lettuce in the antipasto and they tried to cut up the lettuce really small to try and stretch it out for 2 people and then at the end of the meal we asked for a pizza box to take home the rest of the pizza and the waitress said oh I can't I'll have to stack the slices of pizza on top of each other and basically crush them together into a foam takeout container and tried to blame it on not being able to buy pizza boxes and since we only ate 2 slices out of a large pizza we insisted on getting a regular pizza box to place the pizza in only to be told by the waitress jayleen that for the empty pizza box for the leftover pizza we were being charged an additional $2.00 for a pizza box....$2.00 friggin dollars for a empty pizza box seriously????? Do you mean to tell me that for everyone that orders a pizza for takeout your charging them an additional $2.00 on top of the price of their pizza to cover the cost of a box ....I highly doubt it but I guess this is what happens when the owner Richie isn't working or around the business the staff just does what they want .well you can only allow this so long before you don't have a business anymore because customers are not going to keep coming in or ordering and then being hit with miscellaneous fees from running a business. read more

I was eager to try this place after reading the reviews. It was terrible. I got the steak tips (dry with a disgustingly sweet sauce), the mashed potatoes (bland) and the spinach (greasy and bitter). My husband got the pasta and eggplant parm, which was marginal at best -- it wasn't great, mind you, it just wasn't offensive. And then there was the crab cake... Oh my god, it was a crime -- it looked like a ball of deep fried tunafish and tasted like cat food. Sadly, my pets ate most of this meal tonight. Hugely disappointed. read more

Stepped into this place on a recent Saturday night. Waitress was very attentive and a pleasure to deal with. We began by order the boneless wings buffalo style, the order was ample and the blue cheese, celery and carrots were also great. The tenders were also quite good and not all that hot. This is where the praise ends though. I ordered the steak tips, cooked medium, with baked potato and broccoli. The steak tips were not very good at all, just didn't have a good taste to them and certainly don't compare to other places tips nearby such as The Newbridge or Floramo's. The baked potato was hard as a rock and the broccoli wasn't even edible. My friend that I dined with came to the same conclusion as I about the tips and also said that the rice was not very good. He did however say that the previous day he ordered at 13" pizza and it was excellent. I think this is a matter of some things on the menu are fantastic and others are just plain bad. Unfortunately for me, I received the latter. Lastly, the Elvis / Sinatra / oldies impersonator was somewhat entertaining. read more

The place looks a little questionable from the outside but when all was said and done I was pleasantly surprised (I never should have doubted you yelpers!). The waitress was friendly and attentive, but not too pushy. We split the Quatro Formaggio pizza's; it came out quickly and was very tasty. Also had a decent glass of wine with dinner.. They do in fact have a wine / drink menu, you just have to ask for it. The only quibbles I have are that the plates they gave us to go with the pizza were the same size as the appetizer plate they give you to eat with your bread. It's not that big of a deal but it would have been nice to get a normal sized plate to go with my entry... just saying. There is a shortage of restaurants close to my office and 8/10 Bar & Grille is one of the few that is actually on my very short list. That's a compliment in case you are confused. My GFs and I only ordered pizza on the 4-5 occasions we ate here. They make awesome pizzas! We tried the Athena, Vegetarian (white), WBZ's Jordan Rich' Shrimp Scampi, The Dick Syatt' Eggplant and we made our own a few times. The crust is thin and the toppings are amazing. My friend I came here after we went to a wake in the area, we came just a drink and some appetizers. I have not been in this neighborhood since I lived here in the 90's. Gawd! I wish this place was here when I lived here! On the outside it looks like a seedy sports bar but inside was a quant Italian restaurant. I love that they serve Moscato wine, not a lot of placed do. So 2 glasses later.... For our appetizers we got: Meatball Parm Sliders; $8.25 Four homemade Meatballs topped with provolone cheese and marinara sauce. and Mozzarella en Carrozza; $6.50 Mozzarella stuffed with Prosciutto di Parma, fresh basil, breaded & baked with olive oil, served over warm marinara. Came here due to good reviews & had a nice meal. Details: Chicken parm sliders (4) were adorable & came with extra sauce for dipping. Nice touch. Gave them a 6.5/10 only because I'm a big fan of chicken parm & while good, they could have been better (i.e., more taste...they were a bit bland, but bread was soft & somewhat sweet). Pizza was really good, & so was the service. Attentive & friendly. Bar has a few large tv's that are probably nice for games, but we sat in the dining room. My cousin took my Myself and my daughter to 8 n 10 Bar n Grill to have dinner her for her 17th Birthday. The food was great my daughter had the Shrimp Scampi, which was excellent lots of pasta , plenty of shrimp, and a great sauce. Her Boyfriend had the meat sauce, with 2meatballs, plenty of pasta the meat sauce had lots of meat, and the meatballs were excellent. My cosin had a roast turkey sandwhich. There was enough turkey for 3 sandwiches and she said it was sooo moist. At the end of the meal the waitress kindly brought out the cakes I had bought with candles lit like I kindly asked her to. The prices are very reasonable. The portions were huge and the quality of the food was excellent. .highly recommend eating here. Cant wait to go back. read more

We decided to try this place out on recommendation of a friend. We were very pleased! First of all, it looks so different than what you see outside. Give it a try! Secondly, the waitress, Hope, was great! She was attentive, helpful and had a great sense of humor. She answered all my ridiculous questions without issue. We felt very comfortable and welcome for first timers. The food was delicious! The Portions on pasta dishes is RIDICULOUS (: in a great way). Pizza is thin crust and tastes great. The marinara sauce has a great flavor. Loved it! Everything was reasonably priced. Everything was fresh and tasty. The fresh rolls were warm and yummy! I only wish we had more!!! (And had a side of sauce to dunk it in! I highly recommend giving 8/10 a try. We WILL BE BACK very soon but until then....THEY DELIVER!! read more

I got a salmon with corn and spinach with an order of the coconut shrimp. I wasn't a fan of the sauce for the shrimp. A little too spicy for my taste and I don't think it pairs well, but that's just preference. The salmon was ok and the spinach was fine. The main reason I'm giving a 2 was the price was high for the salmon. Even still, $22 isn't terrible. The corn though was unlike anything I've ever put in my mouth. It literally tasted like rubber. It was very gross. I gave 2 stars because businesses are struggling with COVID and the rest of the food wasn't awful, but don't get the corn. read more

What a find! Played a little Yelp roulette and found this gem. Despite the somewhat divey vibes this place gives off from the outside, the food is delish, and Monday thru Wednesday they have a three course special with an app, entree, and dessert of your choice for $15. Their steak tips and mashed potatoes hit the spot and their house balsamic was favorite. Our bartender Laureen was a sweetheart AND they have keno, what more does a girl need. Good place to go if you want food poisoning. Long story on how I know it was exactly them, briefly all I ate besides powdered whey protein was at 8-10 restaurant's burger&lobster ravioli, along with my brother also eating a burger. The burgers were ordered Med/well because we don't like a runny wet burgers by the time they get here. The burgers were runny wet and pink, but we like medium rare burgers anyway. In the morning, my brother started throwing up, by the afternoon I was. Did not feel like writing this yesterday, as we ate there two days ago, friday. Our weekend was completely ruined with sprints to the bathroom. I just got off the phone with them and told them about the incident. Interesting how much the guy knows about food poisoning, starting to believe this isn't the first time. He told me food poisoning doesn't begin to kick in until a day and a half until after consuming the food. Also, I'm going to need a dr's note along with the receipt to get a refund. Service in this place is absolutely horrendous. drinks aren't refilled in a timely manner and there's no reason a party of one or two should take over an hour and a half but it did on two occasions. Desert took 30 minutes to come out which was absolutely ridiculous. So just landed at Logan airport and had the family and we wanted to grab a bite to eat. After searching on Yelp we found the 810 Grill and it was the best thing that ever happened. Billy greeted us at the door and sat us down and we had an awesome meal. The food was great the service was awesome and at the end he even brought the kids nice dessert. definitely go back has Billy and his team making the extra effort that made all the difference after a long day of travel. I have been a customer for a lot of years and have found my meals to be great to good and always reasonable. Yesterday we went in and ordered a soup, sandwich with salad (2.00 up charge) instead of fries and my wife got Prime rib with 2 sides. I also got 2 wines which went up in price. When I got my second glass she poured it in my glass which still had wine in it. She did fill it up past where it was when I got the 1st glass. The sandwich is smaller than we used to get but very good and the salad which came on the same plate was very small for an up charge and no fries. My wife's prime rib was good size and came with brown gravy instead of au jus sauce. The bill came and because the prime rib was a special I didn't know the price which floored me. $28.99. The food was good, the drinks are strong, the place is nice on the inside, but I just did not feel welcomed there. When I asked them if they could put the Sox game on at the bar they only half way tried to look for it and the manager (I think) was like oh I think it's on later. Some other people show up, older/white, talking about wanting to see the game and all of a sudden they find a way. I've been to the 8/10 many times for pizza, appetizers and drinks and it was always a good and fun time. I just came back from having lunch there the first time, and while the food was still good, the service was not. Our waitress, let's call her "M", had only a few tables, yet she was forgetful and inattentive. My dad and I ordered two appetizers, calamari and buffalo sliders. M came back with only calamari. My dad asked for a Miller and received a Miller Light. When we got our burgers, my dad's burger did not have cheese on it as he had asked for. When my dad asked for another beer, M sat down at the bar and continued watching TV and checking her phone. He was trying to wave to get her attention and actually got another staff member to get him a beer! If you're prone to forgetting orders, here's a novel idea: Write everything down! If you're on the clock, you shouldn't have your cell phone out or be watching tv. You should be attentive and making sure the customers are happy. This place deserves 4 stars for food and, in general, 4 stars for service. But, if this lunch experience were my first time at the 8/10, I'd probably would never come back. The server messed up many times and just shrugged it off, turning her full attention to the tv. Does she realize that she's working for tips?
