    Underwhelming Saltimbocca
    Ray V.

Paper thin "pieces" of overcooked veal in my Saltimbocca - same situation with my son's veal dish. The large concrete blocks under the outside tables make seating a nightmare and that is ridiculous. My wife did enjoy here chicken dish and the eggplant app. Was good but not nearly good enough to make the meal and venue acceptable. Message to mgt. "If you can't do it right, don't bother having it on the menu!" Will not be going back, as there are far many more fine Italian restaurants nearby!

    Arrabbiata pasta

Definitely could use an update on the interior but the food was good and the service great. I ordered arrabbiata pasta which was supposed to be spicy. It was not - the jalapeño added a nice crunch like a bell pepper but did not add flavor. Of course if it's not making my nose hair curl back in terror it's not spicy enough for me

    Veal Pizzaiola over penne

Moderately priced restaurant with excellent cuisine. My partner and I had the Veal Pizzaiola and Eggplant Rolls. The sauce on the pizzaiola was a little garlicky, but the veal was incredibly tender. The bread for the table was also excellent (though we weren't the chili oil to come with it), but the absolute winner of the bunch was the Eggplant rolls. Perfect balance of cheese, sauce, and eggplant and the fresh basil on top was the piece de resistance. 4 stars because, while still attentive and patient, the servers were a bit loud while chatting on break at one of the empty tables. Still deserve 20% tho - thank you for the delicious dinner!

    Linguine Carbonara and Fettuccine Alfredo

the restaurant is so cute inside! they decorated for Christmas and it was beautiful! our waitress was very attentive and kind however we weren't offered a dessert menu. food was just okay though:( bread was warm but nothing special. I got the Linguini Carbonara which was good but again nothing special. The Fettuccine Alfredo was a little bland. place is good for easy italian but nothing mindblowing!

Eggplant parm with a light sauce . Service was amazing and I highly recommend coming to this restaurant!

Excellent food and service. Highly recommend this restaurant!Family atmosphere as well As intimate!

First time ordering from here. My son and I were plane spotting at Coughlin Park and he wanted a meatball sub for lunch. Saw the great reviews online and asked a resident who confirmed that they were good. Ordered two subs (meatball and D'Parma #1) and an order of Linguini Pomodoro. The subs did not disappoint!! My son said it was one of the best meatball subs he's ever had. I didn't get a chance to try it because he ate it so fast but I believe him because my D'Parma was delish! You can tell the prosciutto and the sopressata that I had them add were fresh, as were the tomatoes and mozzarella. The bread was nice and fresh too, although I personally like a crunchier type bread. The linguini on the other hand was inedible. It was extremely overcooked. Just mushy and gross. It's a shame though because you could tell the sauce was good (and being a native Sicilian, it's hard to find a restaurant that serves sauce that you like). The establishment was adorable. The staff was really nice. The prices were fair. I'm not from the area so I'd have to make a special trip to come back here but when I am in the area again, I would definitely try it again.

So we've been D'Parma fans for a while. We get lunch from them every two weeks- Chicken Parm sub for him and minestrone or Italian wedding soup for me. Tonight we ordered from there for our 19 year old's birthday. She loved her chicken parm, but the real star was the spinach ravioli that our 7 1/2 month old HOUSED!!! Ate half the portion. And who can blame her!?!? Mama tried a piece and I assure you, it's delicious! I mean... if they can make both of our children happy, there's little they can't do. Go here! Eat everything. You'll never have a bad meal.

For a little restaurant on a quiet street corner in Winthrop, you'd never expect the vibrant atmosphere just beyond the front door. Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen in the Greater Boston Area, but owner Lisa, her family, and her staff have succeeded in making Vuolo's a destination restaurant. You better bring an appetite because their menu demands nothing less. I could fill up on just the crusty bread and roasted garlic oil alone. My top two appetizers are probably the tender meatballs and perfectly crispy mozzarella fritti. If you need some greens, the Caesar salad is perfect for sharing. As for entrees, it's usually a toss-up between the chicken parm and gnocchetti, unless it's October, when I only have eyes for the divine pumpkin ravioli. (That is a reminder to always review their monthly and Monday/Tuesday specials.) While all of their desserts are amazing, the crème brûlée and tiramisu are standouts. For those that imbibe, Vuolo's array of cocktails will truly blow your hair back. Beverage Director Joe is a wizard that knows how to satisfy any palate. Not only do they nail all the classics, but their inventive cocktail creations are not to be missed. Their creamy martinis (espresso, pistachio, and pumpkin in the fall) are the best I've had anywhere. I also really love Ol' Buddy Ol' Pal, their version of an old fashioned. In both taste and presentation, Vuolo's cocktails give any popular cocktail bar in the city a run for its money. The caliber of dining and food options in Winthrop has improved in recent years, and I would say that Vuolo's was the one to kickstart that movement. Needless to say, I feel just a tad spoiled having them so close to home. Nothing beats a satisfying meal in a cozy environment with some of the friendliest customer service around. Whether I'm planning a birthday outing or just want a casual weekday dinner, Vuolo's is always a top contender.

It also came with a side of pasta which is made in-house. Next time I definitely plan to order one of their pasta dishes. Added bonus that they have a few mocktail options if you're not drinking. Definitely a spot to check out if you're in the area.

They did, but pulled some punches. I opted for an Italian Wedding soup, which hit right. The soup was well seasoned and the vegetables still had enough texture to signal to me they were fresh. While I had been hoping to enjoy the soup as a first course, the kitchen brought my Sicilian chicken panini at the same time. The chicken was well cooked (and not too pressed) but the flavor of the red pepper was a bit lost in the mayonnaise (which in hindsight was an odd choice of topping for this one). We also had pancakes and eggs -- because breakfast all day almost seems like a good idea. The pancakes were well cooked but was looking for a lot more crispiness from the bacon. Service was a bit spotty and our dishes did take awhile to appear. Fortunately, there were some nice ladies with a few too many martinis to keep us entertained.
