Used to be my go to station for years but after this recent visit I will not be coming back. Gas pump #4 would not stop pumping out gas and attendant didn't help at all. Just got mad sassy with me "well just take it out." Um dude if I take it out, gas is gushing out full force!! No help just " well how much do I owe you?" I didn't care about that at all, I was worried about SAFETY. No apologies or help at all. Never had this happen in all my years of driving and filling up gas. Ridiculous. Absolutely not. This place has got to be the culprit for why my family's credit card info keeps getting stolen. And judging from what others have said, this is not a new thing. I firmly believe they are skimming at this station. Seems every few months my father's card info gets stolen... and it's been going on for years. This is the only place he gets gas so we've narrowed it down to here. The 'tap' feature on the pumps don't work... guarantee this is not a coincidence.... So you have to swipe. Ha. Your only option is to pay with cash. They have good prices and I don't think that's an accident either. Lure you in with the cheap price and then BAM... CC gets ripped off. read more

76 is my husband's #1 choice fix gasoline. Since Dinan told him it's the best (cleanest for the engine), whenever we pass by a 76 and we're more than half way low on gas, he'll fill up. This is convenient, efficient, because it's self serve and self service, unless we want to buy something or we get trouble with fill up or pay, it's a quick in and out. Highly recommend! read more

Love this place. Hidden gem . Cheap gas all the time. Even though they raised 2 cents today.. it's still cheaper than most places for branded gas. I miss being near here to stop by for gas. Apparently when ya come early they have clean solutions to clean your windshield. No paper towels here, but gas is cheap bring your own! Their air and water station looks so new! read more

Came by for a fill up the other day and it was a mediocre experience. Located on El Camino, next to Hillsdale Mall, the gas station entrance was a touch tight. This gas station is modern with contactless payment using the 76 app linked to Chase Pay. The fuel pump was in good working order although there wasn't any paper towel in the dispenser so that I could check my oil level?!? Pricing was competitive for the area, for Top Tier Gas! read more

The gas here is always so much cheaper than nearby places--this spot is my go-to when I'm in the area. The location is very convenient and when I go inside, the attendant is helpful and friendly. I've never had any problems with my credit card here (I can only assume the complainers are a loud minority--it seems they've fixed their problem a year or two ago) or with the pumps. Everything is pretty clean and I always have a smooth experience here. I definitely recommend this place over the other stations in the area. read more

Gas was surprisingly cheap! Good service from all employees. They were polite and helpful. They have a garage with car mechanics there so you can fix your vehicle, which I thought was quite convenient. The inside of the gas station was pretty clean as well. I went to refuel yesterday , while waiting in the car, the pump should have automatically stopped when it was full. However, to my surprise, Pump No. 1 was leaking fuel. It turned out that the pump automatically stopped function was not working, and fuel had already spilled onto the ground. This refueling cost me nearly $80. The gas station didn't take responsibility, only saying that this sometimes happens. Cheap prices, especially right as you're leaving the CalTrain station. Their pumps are old, so instead of pressing(even though that's what the damn screen tells you to do), you lift the holder of the nozzle to "select" that grade. The signage for this is also the sneakiest - down below the hose, rather than up where you pay. Poorly laid out. Annoying, and if the purchase times out, you have to go in, ask for a certain $ value and then go gas up. I guess saved me from filling up all the way - not sure about the tier of gas doing any damages. I don't really know if they would get the super cheap stuff versus other gasoline stations in the area, but maybe they dont filter theirs as well? Affordable, but what are you really paying for? Lol. Wish I had read the Yelp reviews earlier. As per the other Yelp reviews reporting frequent credit card info skimmers/ theft, I think my credit card info was stolen most likely from here recently, and I think likely a couple years back as well since I had gotten gas here just before the card info was stolen then as well. I thought I was safe because I pulled on the card swiper at the pump to make sure there was no skimmer attached, so it makes me wonder if an attendant or some employee is stealing card info through other means. Anyhow, very cheap gas which is why I have always come here, but it's just not worth the hassle any more given the likely two instances of credit card info theft that have happened to me here. This gas station is notorious for card scanners and stolen credit info. this has been going on since 2014 at least. every few months someone gets hit. SMPD has investigated but it is hard to prove. NextDoor has 40 replies to this latest theft of course credit info. the next nearest gas station on elcamino is north of 92 near mcdonalds. read more

The Rocket 76 gas station is easy to access, good prices, good coffee, friendly management. Now that they opened that street to Bay Meadows it's quick to get to. Skip Starbucks and just get your coffee there while you fill er up. read more

Definitely one of the cheaper gas options in San Mateo on El Camino. The co-worker usually drops in here to fill up if we're headed southbound (lives in Belmont). Peninsula gas is generally more expensive that the rest of the south bay so it's good to have a few hidden choices here and there. read more

In the aftermath of a $2000+ engine repair, resulting from gas that our dealer said contained water and/or diesel, this station referred us to Union 76, who somehow claimed that their brand is meaningless, with "independent" station owners apparently selling whatever gas they may like (so no brand quality control). Will Nextdoor posts now reporting (and posting pictures of) broken pump seals (indicative of credit card "skimmer" installations), I would steer clear of this station, regardless of how "cheap" their prices may appear. read more

They are cheap but the equipment doesn't always function as you would expect. For example, I was heading home and needed a fill up. Went in and got the gas flowing, as I started walking to get the windshield cleaned - the nozzle pop'ed out. Weird I thought. Put it back in, double checked everything - begin again. Things were looking rosy, went ahead and washed the front. Was putting everything away when the automatic stop engaged - and once again the nozzle went flying out. What ever savings I tried to get that day, I spilled it upon the ground. Why the single star? When I went in to explain the situation on the pump - the two folks working behind the counter gave me the "...and your point is?..." faces. I then mentioned that I had spilled gas and it needed to be cleaned up (I use to work at BAAQMD and yah, one likes haz waste cleaned up properly). At that point, I realized that I needed to save my breath and just chalk this up to a wonderfully poor experience. Mistakes happen - I get that. When they do, the mark of adulthood is to get on it and make the situation right. Usually, this means getting the properly trained individuals involved (by giving them the information) and doing what you can with what you have at the moment. Turns out these guys are Infamous for stealing debit cards and credit cards. I used this location yesterday and even went to the cashier to pay for my gas. The next day $400 gone from my account. Talked to my boss and she said that they get their gas there for the business. 3 times a year they have to get their credit card replaced due to theft. read more

Don't tell me that my gas tank is full after 2x.04 charges and one .07. You charged me $20 upfront cause you said my credit card didn't work. Your gas pump still would not work after you pre-charged me and you never gave me my $20 back when only .04 worth of gas went through. It's a gas station... pretty much like any other gas station. Gets busy at times, but for the most part it's not an issue. Occasionally a certain station will be cash only or will be out of order, but again - it's a normal gas station. It's clean enough, and usually less expensive than many of the other nearby gas stations despite being so close to El Camino/92/101. read more

Consistently the cheapest name brand gas in the nearby area. I'm pretty sure they make up for it by having equipment that's broken ... a lot. Usually it's just the card reader that's busted, so I have to go find another pump. But that minor issue has never stopped me from coming here for a fill up. read more

I have been buying gas here for over a year, usually paying at the pump with my credit card. Today I used cash and went inside to pay. No one was at the desk, but that's not a big deal. I saw a woman restocking the candy shelves, with her back to me. I said Good morning. She did not say anything, did not turn around, basically ignored me. Thinking there must be another cashier somewhere I tried again "Hello". The woman stocking the candy, without turning around, said "I'll be right with you" in a tone of voice that said "Just wait, can't you see I'm busy?" She proceeded to fiddle with candy boxes. I almost felt like an intruder, and as she finally turned around and started to very slowly walk toward the desk I felt so offended, I had to walk out and go somewhere else. This place is a rip off. They have dial up technology and so hackers repeatedly hack their customer's personal data. Especially if you use your ATM or credit card at their outdated pumps. I was a customer until I found this out. The corporate people were informed and they did absolutely nothing about it. They would not even refund my money or try and get a more updated system. I have talked to several people who live near this place. They all experience the same unfortunate treatment. I tried to talk with some district managers named Katherine and Jay amongst others. Well suffice to say were all complete morons and unprofessional. Please do go to these people. Arco gas Station on 1950 South Delaware and 300 South Delaware are cheaper and have modern pumps and technology so your personal data is safe with them. I am a regular at both of these locations and the customer service is far superior. read more
