I had a terrible experience here. The gas pump malfunctioned and did not stop when my tank was full, causing gasoline to spill all over my car and onto the ground. I had to rush inside and ask for help. Staff eventually came out and removed the nozzle, but I received no apology or clear explanation. The gas smell got inside my car, and I had to pay for professional cleaning to try and remove it. Came back to talk to someone about what happened - no one spoke english. Went back the next day (7/4), met a manager named Luis, who acted extremely unprofessional, didn't care and just kept laughing in my face and telling me it is my fault. Will have to take it to corporate since Luis wasn't interested in resolving the issue without escalating it. read more

Terrible. Went here to get my oil changed and rides rotated. The gentleman working seemed confident. He finished doing the job in probably 5-10 minutes. The next time I got my oil changed, the new shop I went to showed me the damage chevron did to my lug nuts. They were on crooked and almost stuck. It took a few guys and a mallet to finally get it off. I also asked for a filter change. I was charged for it with still a dirty filter. I doubt he even changed my oil at this point read more

I neglected my car during the pandemic and I finally took it for an oil change. They inspected my car properly and found a significant leak. Brought my car in for a smog check and it passed all emissions tests but the technician said it had an oil leak at the valve covers so he FAILED my car. I saw no oil leak nor did I smell burning oil. I've worked on cars since my teenage years, so this was not my first smog test. Then I brought the car to my regular mechanic to get the valve cover gaskets replaced and my mechanic laughed and said it did not leak. I took the car to another smog station and the car passed the visual and emissions tests. I have been smogging cars here for years. The technician told me the previous technician retired. I'll never bring my cars here ever again; and you should not either. One star at best, thy said I had 30 days to return for a free smog test - lost $38 read more

I go to this gas station because it is by my work, and you only have one other gas station to choose from. For a couple more cents a gallon, you may as well get Chevron. Gas is back over $4, which sucks, but you gotta get it, so you may as well go here, like me! Today was the first time that I didn't have to hold the handle the whole time while pumping gas. It may say Chevron, but Henry the mechanic (and owner) will give you the customer service you'd expect from a mom and pop shop. He prides in his work and is very professional. Needed a quick oil change and smog check to renew my registration - for an import 4 cylinder - $25 for the oil change and about $55 for the smog check - a couple of bucks for tax and oil disposal, it was $85 bucks out. And they electronically send the smog cert direct to DMV, which is a nice little service so that you pay DMV online if you're in a time pinch. Henry is an old timer SF guy - quiet at first but really warms up if you approach him. He gave a lot of good info on what was being done and why - wasn't shady at all (no upsells or anything). I was in and out in 20 minutes - I did stay a tad longer to shoot the breeze - got some tips on some local eateries and shops since he's been here for 20+ years. Great service, knows what he's talking about, vested interest as it's his own shop, and just a nice all around guy. I'll be back for other work, for sure. read more

Great service for smog-test. I called Monday and made appointment for later in week. Showed up at around noon and left my car for smog guy. Went across the street and got a sandwich at some deli (awesome sandwich!). Came back in about 45-minutes and the car was on the rollers being tested. Went here to get a basic smog check. If your time is valuable then do not go here. Technician showed up 1 hour late, then waited 15 minutes to tell me that he needed to calibrate the machine and I should come back "in about an hour." Completely disorganized. read more

Recently took my truck in for a REQUIRED smog check, in order to renew my registration. The 2 guys in the shop were friendly, took my truck right away. Offered me a seat in the small office they have. Passed smog and was out in 30 minutes. This was great service, especially since I had no appointment. Only downer was the cost. $81.25. I was quoted $29.95- $39.95 everywhere else. And when I mentioned that I was surprised by the cost, he took off $20. I thought that was very nice. $81.25 for a same day, while I wait, super urgent smog would have been just fine. Also, this place is gold shield or star certified. This may be why it's more expensive. Totally recommend however. read more

I've been here a few times now, and its a great place for a quick oil change at a reasonable price ($35 all in for an SUV). Owner is super friendly and honest. I thought I needed an air filter and pollen filter change - he took a look, cleaned them out a bit with air pressure and told me there was no need to replace for a while. You can grab a taco at the taco truck across the street, or walk to Cafe Americano next to the 76 Station and have a sandwich while you wait. read more

Fantastic experience. I kept putting off getting my car smogged because it's so hard to find a smog place open on Saturday. These guys were great. I pulled up without an appointment and they smogged my car in less than 20 minutes. I had just enough time to run into Bevmo and run back out. Beware! I had been going here for several years and since it was close to home, very convenient. The mechanic (Henry) had always been honest, nice & efficient. However, recently with each newer service/visit I have been nickel & dimed (more like $5 and $10'd) with little things that any other shop would just take care of. ie. Last time, about a month ago, I went in for a $20 Oil change & was told during their check that I was low on brake fluid. However, being supportive of their business, I told him that even though I had some at home (3 blocks away), they could add some. How much could he charge to top off the reservoir? When I got the bill he charged me $8 for a $2,12oz. bottle of an off-brand DOT-3 fluid, 3/4's of which was still in the bottle. It wasn't till I complained that he said, "Okay, $5 then." That should have taught me, especially since I found 2 quarts of Prestone, when I got home. Shame me once. Today will be the last time they'll see me. I went in for a required SMOG check on the same vehicle after I called to verify the price. They had an on-line coupon for $39 plus a set $8.25 for the certificate, which is what everyone is advertising as a SMOG check "special" in the area. However their on-line coupon had expired 2 months ago. I was told $73 plus $8.25, when I asked, about if that included the certificate. Without hesitation, he said he would discount me $30, when I said I was around the corner/a few minutes away and if they weren't busy I could be there shortly. I rushed over, and although the car passed w flying colors, the tech (possibly a trainee) said the gas cap didn't pass, and that if I didn't want to have to do a re-check, I should by it (gas-cap) from them, if I didn't the car would have to under go the process from the beginning after I went and got the new cap myself. I thought to myself...How much can a gas cap cost? (oops!) So after they put the new standard (Stant #10817) non-locking cap through the tests, which obviously passed I asked if they had any locking ones. They told me that although mine was a locking gas cap, that after passing "they didn't care what I did with the one they sold me once I left the shop with theirs' on the car", implying that it didn't matter if I continued to use mine, but this would assure me passing and expedite everything for everyone. When I got the bill they charged me $15 plus tax. I was not happy as this reminded me that this same thing had happened a few years back with my other car at that same place. Coincidently, all that is needed is replacing the seating gasket that you can take off a new cap and place it on yours (the locking one.) So I left a bit disgruntled after complaining to no avail and that it was to their benefit as they wouldn't have to do a/the "free re-test for not passing". I headed to the local chain, parts store for a new locking cap. They said they normally stocked them for $12,99, but they were out of stock but I could get it a few miles down the road at their next store or they could have it brought up the next morning. They said they had the non-locking one for $7.99, that I pointed out I had just bought for $15. (The actual on-line, free shipping, no tax, cost is $4.43-$6.49). Sadly, I went back to my car and while in the parking lot of the parts store I found that in their haste & my complaining, they had not put the cap back on the car before I left. Returning to the store, Henry greeted me with an apology, but not for the cap but for not being able to contact as he didn't have anyway contact info (now a common practice there.) to get a hold of me, as paperwork apparently doesn't matter either. As I complained to Henry about the whole situation, the over-charge, the actual charge of the gas cap, the tech wandered over and started to argue with me while I spoke to Henry. The tech took an affront to what I thought the cap cost and started to argue with me that they weren't a parts store, and that they did this for me and to my convenience, he did this in a confrontational/intimidating manner. I told Henry, trying very hard to ignore his assistant, that it was to his convenience not to do the re-test as it would be time out of his schedule, and that if the charge had been reasonable I would not have a complaint. He offered to refund me $5 out of his pocket, that I declined, telling him it was the principle of the matter and the whole experience. As a retired law enforcement officer, the last part was bad news. I will no longer trust this shop with any of my business and hopefully they'll learn you can't buy back customers after you mistreat them. read more

This place sucks. I have a f350 turbo diesel and one in 10 gas stations only sell diesel gas. This one being the only one near my home (other is 7-10 min. Away). Biggest issue! My gas tank can hold 30 gallons of gas. It takes 15.5 seconds to only charge me for $1 worth of gas. This has happened 4 times. That's almost 25 to 30 min just to fill my tank. WTF!!! plus the service people suck. Can't say anything about the show. From the other reviews it looks like they are fast at something. read more

Accidentally over-filled my car with motor oil that I had brought to have my oil changed. Rather than give me a small partial refund, he blamed it on me using certain irrelevant and untrue statements just to save a few bucks. I won't get into the statements in particular, but I'm an X army mechanic, so I know what he said to me was untrue and misleading. So I have to say my experience was overall a one, but he does ok with smog checks (you can't really mess that up) although he's over-priced , so overall I gave him a three. read more

Not a lot of respect for someone who tries to cheat you. My wife took her car in for a smog check and called me asking if $81 is a normal price for a smog check. My husband got a smog test here for $53. Two weeks later, they wanted to charge me $73 for a similar car. When I questioned it, they reduced the price without explantation for why they quoted $73. Clearly they are sizing people up as they come in and are quoting prices without consistency. I saw below that another woman had this experience. I went in for a test-only smog certificate for my 1983 car. Service was fast and priced very competively. Cheaper than most of the shops specialize in "test-only" smog certificates. As far as I can tell the shop does very little mechanical work so it seems to specialize in smog checks and perhaps oil changes. It's a convenient & economical place to get your car smogged if your in the area. read more
