I stop here for gas when my job takes me into Burlingame at night. Gas prices are fair compared to other parts of the bay area. I never used the smog check services. He did put a little more in, but it turned out it was the sensor giving us a false indication on our dashboard. He also checked the other three which were fine. I hate smog checks. Just another tax we pay to live in CA I guess. My car is a few years old and passed smog just 6 months ago. DMV wants a new test because I'm selling it? I find Burlingame 76, which in my mind is actually toeing the border of Millbrae. Anyway I wait for the smogger and out comes a pleasant gentleman from Georgia (the country). His name - Jaba. Probably one of the nicest first impressions I have ever got from a mechanic type. Very friendly and genuine. Get in get out about 20 or so minutes. Quick and no trying to up sell or BS about this and that. jaba accepted my yelp deal of $30 for smog plus $8 for papers. No hesitation will recommend this place. Look no further folks. read more

These guys are so great. I came here a little over a month ago to get a smog check, and the mechanic was happy to give me the awesome Yelp deal without me even having to mention it! (Granted, I did know about it prior to pulling in, so I would've mentioned it if he hadn't.) On my way home today, I noticed that my car was due for an oil change. It's 6:30pm, and I'm thinking to myself, there's no car shop nearby that would still be open for business. I decide to test my luck at Burlingame 76. I saw the mechanics still outside, so I pulled over and asked if it was too late for them to do an oil change. "Sure, why not" is what one of them said. So they drove my car into the shop and did their thing. The mechanic, who worked on my car, even offered to find me a good deal for my synthetic oil change. "If you want to go with the lesser known brand, it will cost you a lot less, if you are interested." Granted, I stuck with the more well-known brand, but I was very grateful that he offered the alternative and wasn't so money hungry like so many mechanics out there are. Even more, they offered to clean my air filters for free (which I obviously accepted), but suggested that I get them changed out the next time I visit. Bottom line: These guys are so friendly, considerate and honest - and they provide fast service! I would highly recommend anyone and everyone to come here. Oh, and the mechanic who did my smog check last time, remembered who I was. I was a bit taken aback since it had been a while and I don't always see myself as a memorable person, but the fact that he recognized me (and probably even makes the effort to remember a lot of his customers) made me smile. read more

First of all, what kind of customer service is that and what relevance does that even have to a smog check? This ain't sports bro, it's a smog check. Mind your business and do your damn job. One of my most pleasant car service visit, period. Few months back I needed to get smog check done and thought I'd give this place a try because of the hours(most shops in the area seem to close at 5pm, this one closes at 6pm). I was greeted in a friendly manner, and the whole process took just minutes. Attendant was laid back and easy going yet very informative. I was impressed. Today I needed an oil change and decided to give this shop another try. The attendant's name was Anthony if I remember correctly and he was very informative, friendly, and easy going. It was especially impressive to see how he took his time to do the job(even if it's just oil change) and didn't rush through the process. Not a single spill onto the engine compartment, and I'm talking w/o a funnel. Superb. Lastly the prices are reasonable too. 5-stars!! read more

Here is the picture. I'm over 100 mi from home, just picked up my sister at SFO and my car is packed with her stuff (just one bag Ma'am....yeah). So I figure I'll save some cash, and gas up in Burlingame as opposed to downtown SF. Stopped to gas up and....oh no! I didn't have the gas cap key. Was using my extra set of keys that day, and that one didn't have the a key with it. Now what? Luckily, Burlingame 76's station has a two bay garage with on duty technician. And luckily it was during the business day. The tech looked at the situation, grabbed a set of channel lock pliers and that gas cap didn't stand a chance. Bye Bye.... Unscrewed the remaining piece of plastic from the cap and there you go, fill it up. All for the price of? A bottle of juice. I tried to pay the tech and he said "What? NO. Buy me a soda"....so he grabbed a juice from the convienence store at the station, and I happily paid for it. What a cool thing to do!! So I had to review em. Price of gas was about 60 cents cheaper here than in downtown SF too. read more

FAST and cheap(er) than other smog check places! I called earlier in the day to make sure they would be open after work. No appointment needed but I'm glad I called earlier since when I arrived there were 3 cars ahead of me waiting to get smogged. The guy remembered I called so he made sure I would be able to get smogged before he closed. The entire process took about 15 min (SO FAST!) I didn't even have to show the coupon and he gave me the cheap price!! Only issue is that I found out he told me my gas cap was loose and so I thought that was a precautionary advice for me. I didn't realize he did something to my cap which made it not FIT into my gas can anymore (I JUST filled the tank a few days earlier so I KNOW the cap was fine). I found this out a day later when my car went crazy and had the check engine light on. I had to go to O'Reilly's just to buy a new cap :( read more

Their Yelp check-in offer for smog check is no longer valid, since the smog check station is under different ownership (for at least a few years now). When I pulled in this morning, I walked in to the little store and waited in line. The grumpy clerk was less than warm and friendly to customers, though he did offer to give a customer his $11 in change back in literal coin change. When I asked about a smog check, the gas station clerk simply grunted and pointed at the adjacent closed garage door. Confused, I asked where I should line up and what time they expected to open. The clerk said to wait. Another customer (pocket change guy) told me that it was under different ownership and that the smog guy had just arrived. Thanks! I called in first to check if the Yelp price is real, and the guy said yes. Then I drove down there, got a little lost, ended up at another 76 gas station. When I asked the girl if they have smog check for $26.7 she looked confused and told me "that's not possible!" So I continued driving down along El Camino till I saw another 76 with a "smog for $39.95" sign outside. Then I went in, confirmed that it's the place having smog check for $26.7 from Yelp. Got the the smog check done within 15 mins after I got there. No line or whatsoever (around 2.30-3pm on a weekday). The only small hiccup was when checking out, the guy handed a $48.2 bill to me, but after I mentioned that I came because of Yelp ad, then he quickly corrected the amount to $34.95, and I could even use my credit card!!!! You can't beat the price, and the service is quick and smooth. From now on, as long as they offer this price, I'll be back whenever I need smog check!! read more

It was a smog. I didn't have to wait and he was prompt. I just got a coupon in the mail earlier that morning and decided to take my car in. I presented the coupon got 50 with a certificate and he said it'd be 70, but then i asked about the coupon and he said the best I can do is 60 with the certificate. I said what about the coupon that I just got today? He said oh this is for test only and California did away with test only (really?? Then why did you send me this coupon?). I came here because the website states that they are open on Sundays until 5pm. I needed a smog test and couldn't do it during the week. I arrived at 3:55 and was greeted with "We're closed. No more smog checks!" I stated that their website says they are open until 5pm. He said, "We're closed. I have to go somewhere." I was about to say something and he came back and said "What year is your car?" Then said, "I will do it really fast. I don't want a bad Yelp review." I can't leave a completely good review or a bad review. He completed my smog test at a fair price, however, he was very rude. Not friendly in my opinion at all.
