Gas stations need reviews too This station has plenty of pumps and is usually the best price in town it does get pretty busy and it is right next to a on ramp and off Ramp for the highway so that could be a plus or negative depending on your situation Sometimes people are Pretty rude here and cut you off from driving up to the pump or leaving. Lets speak specifically about Pernedu today. At 2:50pm I pulled up to get gas, swap $90 in lottery tickets, and obtain a carwash. 1st the pump did not ask if I wanted to add on a carwash (really in 2021)? So while my gas pumped I went to the Cashier w/ lottery by the car wash. I walked in and Pernedu slowly meandered out to the center island cashier leaving me in there by myself for easily 4 minutes. I went back to the center cashier to discover they did not have lottery tickets. After pumping gas I pulled up the the cashier w/ lottery and Pernedu was back from his excursion. I handed him two tickets with winnings of $90 to which he rudely exclaimed "What's This!!!" I told him i wanted to swap them for three $30 tickets to which they were out. They were also out of $20 tickets; so as he slowly service me and held the $90 payout I kindly asked for five $10 tickets instead. He handed me a $10 Monopoly, and 4 other Poker tickets, I also asked for a $10 carwash to which he grunted "there" toward the middle island cashier. I left and due to the line at the middle island chose to hop in the carwash line. Patrick was waiting for me but all I had was twenty dollar bills. So Patrick went and got me a $10 wash. Because of his service I thanked Patrick and told him of the horrible service I was given inside. While in the car wash I started to scratch the poker tickets only to discover I had been give four $5 High Card Poker tickets and one $10 Monopoly. Meaning I was effectively shorted $20 in the whole transaction with Pernudu. After exiting the car wash I parked, and confronted Pernudu to which he said rudely "let me see" and I exclaimed "let me go grab the manager". At this instantly said "I made a mistake" and asked for the four $5 tickets and said "so I owe you four more of these - the $5 were in the $10 slot!" As he pulled them I watched and he pulled them from the same spot he did moments before! I included a picture of the tickets I received below so you can confirm via your security cameras. Managers of ARCO - Kindly check your video feed from 2:50pm - 3:00pm on 12 July 2021. This review would not be getting posted if it were not for the 1) lack of sense of urgency, 2) a cashier leaving a customer unattended as he walked into the store 3) the issue with the lottery exchange, and 4) the rudeness when confronted about solving the issue. Went here in the evening, and thought I'd clean my car with the vacuum machines, even though the last time I came here with my family I almost got robbed, but being a semi-pro mma fighter I scared the crap out of the would-be robber and he jumped into his car and speed off. Anyway that was then and this is now, so I'm looking for change in my car so I can vaccum it. And out comes the cashier he walks to me and says, "just make sure your not dumping your garbage here" I said to him I'm just looking for change for the machine. Then I realized I didn't have change so I went to the cashier booth to break a couple dollars and then proceeded to vacuum my car. The following week I go back with the same medical device delivery vehicle, in which I own about 6 of them for my business. As I finish pumping my gas I get into my car and I see the same racist cashier walking toward me, so I drive off quickly, then I look in my rear view mirror and see him standing there disgruntled as he looks as he was going to come over and make a problem with me. At this point I'm just surprised he recognized my car from the car wash incident. Three times a charm, the last time I went there I'm pumping my gas at the pump furthest from the cashier booth., and to my surprise I see him walking toward me again, now he walks up to me and looks at my car, sees I'm pumping gas, and now he's SPEECHLESS, he is out of words and is standing looking at me and doesn't know what to say. The gas here is definitely cheap, but I guess you get what you pay for. I've seen, consistently, over the course of about 20 fill-ups, that for some reason, the gas mileage I get when I fill up here is 10-15% lower than at other stations. Unfortunately this more than negates the price advantage. I've heard some people say that all gas comes from the same terminal and is identical. I've heard some say that some station owners maybe mix water with the gasoline. Whatever it is, I don't find the gas I get from this place to be a good value. read more

They usually have more than one register running to make payment and change quickly. Clean as any gas station could hope to be. Brightly lit at night. I used to love this station back when I lived in SM. Cheapest gas locally, a ton of pumps and fast moving traffic since they had the cash machines. Now I don't know what the hell happened, but they do not allow you to pay cash at the pumps, but you have to get in line at the central cashier (dodging 4 lines of waiting cars and road rage) which is often several people deep with one cashier. Would you want to get back in this line if you needed change? Hell no. I still actually come here but it's often not worth the time. Pros: Still probably one of the cheapest gas stations near me aside from a couple of really trashy places in RWC. Right by the highway near the 92 / 101 interchange, so plenty of excuses to be in the local area. I usually stop by after a trip to the dog park at Seal Point. Car wash on the same lot, and it does a decent job for cheap. People running it have always been nice and polite, as long as I can remember. Cons: Again - It's right by the highway literally between an off ramp and an on ramp for the 92. That said, prepare for cars flying down and a 2 lane swerve if you want to get back on the 92. Lines out the wazoo. Regularly, cars are waiting all the way out to the entrance on both sides, and this is an entire street corner of a lot. Think Costco gas on a bad day -- it's this bad at weird hours on weekdays so you can imagine what weekends must look like. Having those hoses that allegedly go across your car doesn't really help -- if they worked so well, people wouldn't be avoiding those lanes with the pump on the right, lol. read more

I have gone to this gas station for many years and they recently changed to debit is the same as using a credit card. When this originally started I went into talk to the assistant inside and he was VERY rude. I still go here because the price is still one of the cheapest but I rather use my debit card and pay the $.35 fee which is reasonable as debit should be considered same as cash like every other store we visit, and the dont charge a $.35 service fee. The cash price (bring 10s and 20s) is the lowest in the mid-Peninsula, by a healthy margin compared to the major competitors like Exxon, Shell, or Chevron: often 30-50 cents per gallon less than spots in Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Woodside, or Redwood City. Gas in Silicon Valley doesn't need to be overpriced - although it often is. Fortunately, there is an ARCO for that - this one! There also are propane tanks for exchange, and I have never seen them out of stock. If you have a gas grill and use it regularly, this is a helpful thing as well, and exchanges are under $25. The pay station is clean, open, and staffed by 2 people most of the time, and there are 21 fueling stations with hoses long enough to reach your tank - regardless of which side the tank is on. Given the popularity of this location, having this option makes it easier to zero on on an empty spot. From CA-92, the Delaware Street exit is the easiest way to access the pumps. Less then 1/4 mile away is a Trader Joe's, and 1/2 mile away is a self serve car wash, as well as a post office. All in all: not a bad spot for taking care of the little things in life that, collectively speaking, can often make a huge difference! Note: you really should bring cash to get the best deal here. Go to the pay station, give them your cash (they can make change) and tell them your pump number. If you fill you tank and still have cash left, return and ask for your change. Imagine that! Cash. This one doesn't have that but if you want to skip the line and just pump your gas then you need to use a debit card. THEY DO NOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS AT THE PUMP. So good luck if you don't have your card on you. Then, god forbid you need a receipt because after all that the machine MAKES YOU SEE THE CLERK and wait in line regardless. I didn't even see that they accept credit cards at all for that matter while I waited. If that wasn't insanity enough for you then you'll love the $0.35 fee they charge FOR USING A DEBIT CARD. Skip the bull and fill up at Exxon. It's easier to pull out of anyway if you're going to continue in the same direction you were headed. This is the best priced gas I've found on the Peninsula. For 15+ years I avoided going here because there is always, ALWAYS a wait for a pump. However, I didn't realize how fast the line goes. Now that I'm entrenched in the cheap gas at ARCO because they closed my fav gas place, Valero, on 4th Avenue, it's working for me. I almost always use the car wash unless it's too late at night. I've made the mistake of using same when the attendant isn't working -- DON'T -- very difficult to use and get car going correctly when no one is on duty. read more

If you are wheelchair bound, do not get gas here. They will not help you, I was trying to pay inside the store for my gas and I could not reach there card reading machine. They refused to help me. They would not take the card reader off the counter so I could reach it or move some racks so I could get closer to the counter. Then the cashier would not give me my ATM card back. Arco charges for credit card transactions. They recently increased the surcharge fee by 10 cents! At the pump, you can only pay with a credit card- they don't accept debit cards. There are lots of cash only machines too, if you prefer to pay with cash. Only hassle is, if you overpay, you have to go into the little store to get your change. Did the vacuum and car wash here! The vacuum ONLY accepts quarters... it will literally spit out any other coin. Only costs 1 for I believe 3 minutes of vacuum. I went inside and he gave me change for a dollar and some of my dimes and nickels as well (very nice gentleman working) I did 2x and it got my whole Subaru Crosstrek! It is NOT the most powerful suction, however for a cheap vacuum it got the job done. THANK GOODNESS I really needed it! I also used the car wash. There is a man sitting at the pay machine - CASH ONLY- he will take your cash and input for you and direct you to the alignment (as this car wash pulls you through itself (you place your car in Neutral ALL the way through.) The different washes are 7 for minimum wash and dry basically 8 for regular wash, under car wash and dry and 9 for additional wax and RainEx.
