I don't usually write reviews but the vitamin water was supposed to be 2/$4 but it was charged regular price plus 10 cents. Money isn't the problem it's the fact that this is the third time that this guy has done this. I tried using their window cleaners but the 4 that I used were useless. They had water instead of the cleaning solution. I don't think they care to replace the ineffective and useless cleaners. It is severely disappointing, especially due to the higher price of gas in this neighborhood. You'd figure they would reinvest a small portion of their profits into basic improvements. This experience left a bad taste and I wouldn't come back here. One star seems too harsh. Two stars may be more fitting. read more

Gas stations are supposed to offer air + water complimentary to patrons. These guys instead offer air + water at the steep cost of $2 cash only and it has stickers all over the machine stating that it's privately owned and the shop attendants don't have the ability of turning it on for paying patrons. It's pretty despicable and we won't be returning. read more

This is my local gas station. It is super convenient for me, so I go here quite a bit. I have been saved by the clerk here a few times with clutch air for my tires on my old car. It's a few cents more than other local gas stations, but it's good quality gas and easy to get in and out of. They also have a small repair area if you need some help with your car. Attendent told me he didn't have propane service there, which I'm not complaining about. You can serve who ever you want. But just say so. Saves me the drive down Chapman. Propane price here is competitive relative to the other gas stations though. So no knock on that. I was lucky 2 months ago when they had time to do it for me. So When they feel like filling your tanks up, it's a convenient place to refill if your in the opa or Chapman hills area. read more

This is my only 5 star review iv'e ever written, and guess what? I have never bought gas from this station in my life! The 5stars come from the guy in the back...Norman is an honest, friendly, fair, and hard working guy who knows you by name right after meeting you. When I call he greets me with a, "Hey its the Insurance Guy!". I am an insurance agent by trade. Norman is square and friendly, plus his work is very competent. I don't think you could ask for more. When I have had to repair my car he always tells me that he will look up the costs in his labor guide and bill what the book says. This is exactly what he does. But, it goes farther than that. I recently had my clutch go out and I have a rear main engine seal leak. I called a transmission shop and they quoted $800.00 labor for the job (from the labor guide). I then called Norman and he quoted me $494.00 from the labor guide. Well when I asked him about it he said the price can change by the way you book the order of the job...i.e. the trans shop booked it as step#1 Replace clutch Step#2 Resurface flywheel Step#3 replace rear main seal = $800.00 / Norman booked job as #1 Replace rear main seal #2 replace clutch #3 resurface flywheel = $494.00 You see this, in my opinion, is honesty. Just by booking the work in the most efficient work flow, Norman saved me $300.00, all by using the same labor guide. Finding an honest mechanic in today's world is hard, and Norman is an honest guy. Thanks to Norman I feel comfortable with taking his quotes at face value. PS I was hesitant on writing this review because I don't want Norman to get too busy, but the man deserves it and deserves your business!!!! Drove in with very low tire. I asked them to check it for a nail. The man never put it up on the lift only put air in tire. Immediately he told me I had cheap tires on my car, I was lucky I hadn't had a blowout on the freeway. Sept 2016 I had new tires on my car. He was very rude and condescending to me. He told me to take my car down to Goodyear on Chapman. I told him No Thank You, Goodyear ripped me off royally last year. The 76 and Goodyear must work as a tag team. Being in law enforcement, I seek businesses that not only have knowledgeable employees but ensure they operate themselves with the utmost integrity. This Unocal 76 Station epitomizes both. My wife and I recently moved to the area, and had both of our vehicles serviced there. Mario works hard and is as honest as you can find them. He could have easily charged me for a quick tire fix, but he recommended an alternative that did not cost me a dime. Apparently, the shop has expanded to take care of most service jobs. My wife and I definitely plan on returning to their station. The cashiers are very friendly and professional, too. They always greet you with a smile and genuinely appreciate your business. Had a 3pm appt today. Also known as AD Smog! Showed up and was told no one was there until 4pm. Last night when I called, I told them 4pm but was told earlier would be better so I changed it to 3. I rushed off of work to make it in time but now told to come back in an hour. TERRIBLE! Wasted my time. i went down the street to Instant Lube and Smog 4428 E. chapman. SUPER sweet when I called on the phone. Getting my smog check done NOW! :) even got a huge $20 discount. read more

Gas is a bit pricier here but the service is great and you can just drive right in to any pump and fill up right away.

We had our beater car's smog check done here and they were so friendly, honest and helpful with resolving the issues in order to get our car to pass. They are reasonably priced and we will return! read more

Our neighborhood station. Worth paying a few extra cents per gallon to not have to fight wait in line and fight crowds. Areas around the pump could be cleaner. They need to change out the solution for the squeegees more frequently and refill the paper towels and hand sanitizer more frequently, as well. read more

Took my car here for a SMOG check after a bad experience at another shop down the street and this place ROCKS. My car failed the test, again, but he offered me a free re-check valid for up to a year! The price for the smog check was very reasonable and the staff was VERY friendly. Raul really wants his customers to pay no more than they have to, and wants them all to get a good deal! This review is for the mechanic, Norman, who is a total straight-shooter. Not that the gas station isn't fine. I don't pay much attention to gas prices, which are likely higher at the end of Chapman in East Orange than elsewhere, but the station itself doesn't usually set the prices anyway. Whatever the case, the gas station is fine but the real prize here is the service station and its mechanic. Many a time he has charged my battery, patched a tire or just checked something out for free. I've tried stuffing a $5 in his pocket, but he refuses. Yeah, it doesn't really cost him much and a few other places might do such things as a courtesy, but not many of them. More importantly, though, Norman is as honest as an alter boy, which is unfortunately rare these days with many mechanics. I've literally had him tell me to take my car down the street to another place because they, with their big chain scales of economy on parts, and availble labor, could do the job cheaper than he could. Have you ever heard of such a thing? Friend of mine has a high end luxury vehicle which needed a hose fixed. Norman wouldn't let her take it to the dealership only to get sodomized for a $1.50 part. Instead, he fashioned a suitable hose out of scrap himself and charged her a buck fiddy. Norman is an every-man. So he knows that times are tough and many of us are considering the cost effectiveness of repairing our aging vehicles rather than buying a new car in this economy.
