If I could give this place a half a star I would. We made a reservation for a party of 10 this past Saturday night. Now I know it's 4th of July weekend, and I know the Hamptons are slammed - but wouldn't you think they'd be a well-oiled machine in a restaurant that's super well-known? We assumed they'd be, and boy were we wrong! First, we showed up right at 8:15 PM for our reservation and we weren't seated until 9:30 when they could accommodate us. Then it went swiftly downhill. Our waiter took 18 minutes to arrive at our table. Drinks then didn't show up for another 15 minutes. Then we had to ask the bus boy for water & bread as nobody had served us any. We finally ordered and had about 15 minutes between appetizer and entree. Oh and! One of our party members didn't receive her food Bc the waiter forgot to put it in. After all that they did give us a bottle of champagne and free desserts but they should have just taken the forgotten food off the check and said it's on them. They also charged the wrong amount to my credit card, so now I have to go tell my card company to resolve the discrepancy. Overall, this place is an overpriced joke. For being such a put together town, this place really just falls flat. read more

If the owners are reading...just a few tips: - butter in tin foil and grape jelly in the little plastic squares belong in a diner, not a white tablecloth restaurant. - if a customer asks the waiter to refill her coffee, the waiter should ask if anyone else wants some before leaving the table. - what are you putting all over your brunch potatoes? my plate was a neon orange, oily mess, and they were cold. You have a great looking establishment, very nice staff...but someone needs to pay some more attention to the details. read more

truly awful. bread was cold. New England clam chowder had too much celery and was lukewarm. hanger steak had a lamb-like flavor. fries were cold, greasy and limp. hamburger came with an unrequested whole grain bun, brownies were dry and porous with a moldy flavor. I had to go to a Starbucks later to meutralize the bad brownie flavor. The steady techno music was a sad attempt to invoke a Manhattan club atmosphere. Stay away. Please. Cafeteria food at Hamptons prices. I will have to be dragged in if I ever return. read more

I normally provide a 4 or 5 star rating for restaurants. Since my partner and I eat out about 8 nights a week, I do realize how difficult it can be to provide excellent service, excellent food, and an excellent dining overall experience each and every time. We are currently in The Hamptons for an annual trip to "Mecca" and thought we would take advantage of the three course steak special at 75 Main in Southampton on Sunday evening for dinner. My partner called the restaurant and even spoke with the owner - Zak regarding the special and the owner was promoting Monday evening specials for pasta that they offer each Monday evening. All sounded great. We are staying in Amagansett and to drive over to Southampton is about a 45 minute drive. Off we go. We walk in and get seated with about 15 other patrons inside the restaurant. We were seated quickly and professionally by the hostess/server. Had a few questions about the 3 course steak special and she was able to answer those. She did mention that they were out of flank steak, but had everything else on the menu. Before we were finished ordering, a co-worker stepped up to tell her that they were now out of mashed potatoes. We asked if they could make additional mashed potatoes for us . . . no response. So we ordered our three course dinner and then my partner excused himself to go to the restroom. I should also mention the atmosphere inside the restaurant was completely "dead!" When he returned, he said the restroom was filthy (bugs on the floor, rolls of toilet paper everywhere, etc.). I was still bothered by the response regarding mashed potatoes. When he returned to the table and asked me if I wanted to leave . . . the answer was yes. So I put down my half-eaten warm bread with butter right on the tablecloth - there were no bread plates available on the table to place the bread. We excused ourself and left the restaurant. Now for plan "B". We have dined at Nichol's of East Hampton since we arrived in The Hamptons this past Thursday. We have to go by Nichol's on our way back to home. Needless to say, I'm officially done with 75 Main and with its charm and constant stream of "famous faces" . . . I will not be eating here every again! read more

75 Main - This was an amazing desert - New American Near Me - Southampton, New York

Quicktips: One redeeming quality, - 75Main is able to accommodate large parties. This was vital for our bachelorette party of 15. Food was decent, I was trying to eat light so I ended up getting the Greek salad, which was decent, but not might be indicative of the menu. Mediocre food and terrible food makes me say skip this place. Food: While my Greek salad was okay, the filet mignon my friend got was not. When she asked for medium rare, they cooked it rare. They then offered to cook it more and it turned out too dry. On the other hand, my other friend got a medium Truffle burger. There was absolutely no pink, and clearly well done. When she mentioned the burger was not cooked well enough, she got no offer for help, but rather a snide, so do you really want me to do it again? We were shocked and my friend ended up keeping her dry well done burger. This description could also be under the Service subtitle as in the service sucked. One thing I must admit was delicious - the lightly battered fries that came on the side of the truffle burger. One fry and a dip into the truffle spread and I almost forgot about the poor service. Service: See above, not super friendly or helpful. But they still got their gratuity from our large party. Ambiance: Cute and trendy. The waitstaff is noticeably good looking, especially the women! How can I enjoy ricotta pillows and fries when the servers are so beautiful and skinny! read more

Brunch experience: diner food at southhampton prices. That's all I need to say... Smoked salmon platter: mediocre flavored salmon, bland bagel, poor presentation bc the capers were difficult to find (hiding under lettuce). Omlette: good. Bloody Mary: decent. read more

Came in for a late dinner, was not so impressed. We were hungry so it got the job done, but that is sadly the extent of it. Chicken alla Champange was bland. Italian food has no excuse to be bland! Fiance ordered the Penne Primavera, yikes. It was basically a huge pile of penne pasta, a few bits of veggies, and some oil. If it was my dish I would have absolutely sent it back. Next time we are in the Hamptons, we won't be here! read more

I really wanted to like this place because it looks so cute, but alas it disappointed. I got a beyond burger (poor choice on my part- thought it was an Impossible Burger) and my husband got an omelette. His meal was flavorless, and my beyond burger was burnt. We were here years ago and it was really good then? Don't know what happened. The servers were very friendly though! read more

I came here not for dinner but after dinnertime for drinks and lounging. Talk about first impressions...I walked into a smell like no other and a ton of blinking disco lights. Apparently this nice italian restaurant turns into a half club? Lots of drunk people dancing around the back of the restaurant with super loud music. Almost a tad too tachy esp with the disco lights. But it was the smell I couldn't get over. My gfs and I sat at the bar, and after a while realized it was the smell of bad seafood. Salty ocean and fishy... After a few drunk guys came by to try to spark an incoherent conversation...we immediately left our drinks at the bar and bolted. I showered before I went out that night. No interest in leaving a venue smelling fishy. Needless to say will not be back. read more

I went here for brunch this past Sunday and, no surprise, it can best be described as "eh." Given the dearth of decent brunch spots in town it's not a terrible choice, but it could really be so much better. The omelette I ordered was overcooked and underseasoned with far too much cheese, and the accompanying potatoes were overspiced. I had requested the sweet sausage, thinking it would be a filling, but it was really just two tiny greasy frozen breakfast links on the side. I will say it was a big portion, so at least it had that going for it. My brunchmates had the french toast (unremarkable) and the waffle, which actually looked pretty good. The iced coffee was pretty awful -- watered down, not cold, and served in a really small cappucino glass. We were in and out in under 30 minutes, and it wasn't like they were rushing to seat tables -- the place was only about two thirds full. Every summer I give this place a shot for brunch and am consistently disappointed. read more

It was right after the Forth of July parade in Main Street, we need to eat something. Checking out places walking around, this place seems too packed for the moment. Looks like everyone from the parade watching was there. After more checking other places, we decided to try anyways. It was quite surprising that the service was fast and good. Waiting for a table, we sat at the bar. Before we finish one glass of wine we got the table in the back. Food was very good and fresh. It is a casual place but the food was well done (maybe hampton way?), casually but not sloppy like some vacation town restaurants. I had Lobster salad sandwich and my friend had a scallop dish. It was gone like wind. I am not sure how the usual crowd there but for that particualr day, it was predominantly very preppy family out watching the parade where their own children are in and some city ppl I can tell. and same ppl at the restaurant. These family almost look like just came out from those yachty or polo magazines. In fact, there are so many polo and Ralph Lauren stores around in Hampton. for that reason? Some ladies in summer dresses but most of ppl wearing preppy polo shirts and khakis and some beach attire. But I did not see any attitude. Everyone looks nice and behave. Entire family (I mean grandparents to grand children) seating next to each other watching parade in portable chairs was quite cute. And mix of little tourists a bit obvious. We were in our beach attire, which we head over after the lunch even though weather wasn't fully sunny. All together, everyone was chilling out and catching up with some drinks at the place on one fine day after that annual parade. Good life. Highly recommended. read more

I usually dont write reviews or feel the need to "bash" an establishment as everyone has "bad days". But this was so bad!! It was to be "Brunch with Santa" ... Okay ~ fine. There was a fixed priced menu ... But not a childrens menu!! The service was so horrendous ... slow .... unorganized ... that it completely made what we thought would be a great holiday outing for out family (group of 17) and kids melt down. And to top it off ~ food was mediocre ... took 45 mins for a cup of coffee... food came out sporatically. And for the most part ... cold. Really disappointed. read more

I have been dying to come here for years so i finally made a weekend trip to South Hampton and i was so excited to eat here. I made reservations on Open Table for the next day which was easy. First let me say the service is amazing and we were seated almost instantly( because we made reservation) in which they strongly require. If not its prob an hour wait.. Now let me get to the food.... Our waitress brought out drinks which were amazing but i had my champagne poured into a regular cup which i did not understand but i told her and she fixed it.. Secondly, they lost our brunch ticket and we never received our food until 1 hour later. The waitress realized and apologized so i was hoping the food was worth the wait.. My to girlfriends enjoyed there food ; one got clams with sauce and the other got chicken dish. I got a grilled chicken caesar salad and the lettuce was wilted and stale. I was so disappointed i wasn't sure how they can bring out a plate of salad that looked brown. Plus i was starving i had to wait another 20 minutes for them to make a new one. Its definitely a place to go for drinks and people watch but they need to train the servers a little better. Maybe next time my experience will be better since i had such high expectations of this place. Prices are $$$. read more

The food was great I had the Italian panini and my friend had the eggs Benedict. Our waitress however was the worst I've ever had. She didn't introduce herself, only said, "ready to order". Didn't ask how anything was, or how we wanted the checks. I then asked for separate check and she just said no. Also, watched the busser wipe the Wouldn't recommend as all of the staff seemed the same. read more

Full disclosure: this is a Northforker who's been going to the Hamptons for years who would NEVER Yelp about something unless we really felt disrespected. We went to 75 Main tonight as a backup plan knowing it probably wasn't the once eclectic place it used to be. Well, that is an understatement. 75 Main in recent years was an "it" place for "it" people. Celebs swarmed the place with their reality camera crews which probably began the spiral of this overly pompous restaurant. All the guests are there to see or be seen. Celebrity stalking wanna bes are swarming this tourist trap that might as well be in Times Square selling overpriced "I The Hamptons" booty shorts. Okay that pettiness aside, we stupidly ordered some sushi as our meal on the day after the Fourth of July, taking the risk that the sushi probably hadn't been delivered for days prior. We receive our many orders of sushi and we almost puked right then and there. The guac tuna was frozen and fishy, like FISHY. The roll with eel had something like A1 sauce on it and the soft shelled crab roll was maybe salted chicken, I think. We went back and forth about whether or not to actually say something to our very kind and professional server who probably should be the manager, but after realizing we might drop over $200 on overpriced appetizers, we quietly told her we couldn't actually eat the food. This is where it gets good... she kindly offered to bring out her manager. The Manager comes out with the written out words " Hashtag Hamptons". #instantdouchebag Oh YOU'RE the guy in charge? I think. We also kindly explained the scenario. He looked at us like scum on his shoe. Rudely just said to his employee "take the food away" and walked away. No apology. No (maybe) drink on the house. No smile to say thanks for not making a scene. Welp. Now you're getting the scene that was almost avoidable. You, with your trying-too-hard T-Shirt will get a lifetime of z- list celebs or their fan club destroying the whole atmosphere. With that food and attitude, you're doomed for the end that Kozu down the street ultimately saw. Good luck to you, jerk in the hashtag Hamptons shirt. I would suggest you start looking for another job and next time be gracious to your customers. #cheers! read more

First and last time eating here. Sat down with my group at 8:30pm and didn't get my food until 10pm. Charged my credit card 2x yet there were 2 separate credit cards for billing since we were two groups. Security was rude. Lack of social distancing amongst tables. Busboy spilled my cocktail all over the table and the waitress had the nerve to be annoyed when I asked for a new drink that the staff spilled and wanted to charge me twice. Good luck eating here. read more

My favorite place to eat dinner the steak & salmon is delicious . You should come and have dinner guys !!!!

The recent renovations have given this place a nice facelift. I was also pleasantly surprised that even at the beginning of the season, they seemed to have worked out the kinks in service that I'd experienced in previous seasons. We were seated immediately, and had water, and menus in hand in seconds, drinks within minutes. I saw familiar faces serving, which is a testament to good management. For a busy Memorial weekend Saturday, the kitchen was expectedly backed up, but the service was otherwise attentive, and our server Tori was PHENOMENAL--she kept us updated and happy as we waited for our food. The menu upgrades were also welcome. The food and drinks were pricey, but delicious....most places in Southampton are just pricey but mediocre, so this is a place I'll return to often. Two changes I'd like to see would be outdoor heaters. Southampton isn't reliably warm in the evenings before 4th of July, so there were a lot of beautifully dressed (but scantily clad) people shivering at outdoor tables--bring a jacket. Also, they need to put a stall around the men's toilet. The men's bathroom renovation was desperately needed, but because there's no stall around the toilet, pee-shy guys lock the door and make it a one-at-a-time experience. It was a strange twist of fate to see no wait for the women's restroom, while the line for the men's room was 5 deep. read more

Horrible experience ordering take out from here. After an hour of waiting for my order, they tacked on another hour to my wait time. When I called them to check on my order, they informed me that they had no intention of delivering my order the evening I placed it! How absolutely ridiculous! On top of all of this, the woman I spoke to on the phone hung up on me 3 times and then proceeded to dismiss my comments so she could get off the phone rather than check on the status of my order. Very lazy staff. Please reconsider ordering from this restaurant - if I could give them zero stars I would. read more

Despite the fact that this place was crowded, the food was not good. My fish sandwich cut in two, had tiny pieces of fish in it surrounded by giant pieces of bread. Overpriced. Service was spotty. Our waitress couldn't handle orders from our large group. The interior of the restaurant is dark and gloomy. Only one restroom with a huge line of people. I do not recommend this place. read more

Save your money and time! This restaurant is all hype and no substance! The waiters don't even understand what " I take my coffee very light" means! Immediately brought a pot of coffee and one tiny creamer!! Atmosphere was so tense I felt we were disturbing them! My omlette was greasy and the bacon was s shade of yellow! We have a home in Southampton and were so taken a back at both the quality and attitude of this restaurant. Better off at a diner! read more

Desperate for a sit-down restaurant that was neither too busy nor too expensive (by non-Southampton standards), a group of 7 friends and I visiting for the day happened upon 75 Main while hungrily wandering Main St. in Southampton Village. Fortunately, they were able to accommodate our group without a reservation, but we were seated in the far back area, where they clearly have their DJ/dancing on weekend nights. We were sat at a booth where the vinyl seats were covered in dirt and show marks (must have been a great party the night before), and the staff initially seemed very lackadaisical about wiping down the seating surfaces. At least the area was sunlight, and quieter than the front of the restaurant, so better for our group. The weekend brunch menu had a modest collection of breakfast and lunch items, so I chose a classic eggs/bacon/toast plate, while a friend chose the clam spaghetti, and other friends chose a smorgasbord of Benedict, sandwiches, and omelettes. I was pretty happy with the basic egg/bacon/toast, and the bacon was so deliciously and perfectly crispy, that I ordered an additional side to share with the table. I would have liked to have had more coffee refills, especially at the $4 per coffee order. With 6 out of 7 of us having coffee, it would have saved our waitress a lot of time to just bring us a pot or carafe. Speaking of our waitress, she was curt and unfriendly, but at least she got everyone's order correct. She seemed really overworked, as the restaurant appeared short-staffed. Okay, one point of annoyance - the restrooms. Why, in a space so large, is there only one toilet for the ladies, but more than one point for men? The line was several women deep, so much so that we were resorting to using the (non-locking) men's room...which was kind of awkward. read more

One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. We waited 40 minutes past our reservation time for our table and when we sat they squeezed our party of 8 into a table for 6. Wait times for food and drinks were incredibly long and the food was underwhelming. The worst part was that management was EXTREMELY rude and unapologetic. We will definitely not be back. read more

Great place for a Peroni. I'll start with that because nothing else was good here. Their traditional Maine lobster roll was more of a dish inspired by a lobster roll. It was a lobster salad with trace amounts of lobster meat, heavy mayonnaise and celery. In addition to the disproportionately sized bun to justify its egregious pricing of $32, occasional bites had a tooth chipping crunch given the overwhelming amounts of shell hidden by the gobs of mayonnaise. If you feel like flushing your hard earned dollars down the toilet on the most mediocre imposter of a lobster roll you can imagine, have at it. But make sure to order the $8 Peroni to wash it down, it will feel like a steal in comparison to the roll and the only true enjoyment you are getting out of this meal. read more

We had dinner here after walking up and down Main Street and not finding many options. The interiors are not that nice, which with the prices, you'd expect better. Dinner started well with the octopus appetizer. Cocktails are $15 but taste like well drinks at your local dive bar. Not worth it!! Our mains were sorely disappointing. We left $140 poorer but feeling like we'd eaten in a mediocre diner. The dripping water from the AC behind us didn't help. And the servers running around haphazardly lent the place a strange chaos. Unfortunately chose this restaurant on a Thursday night for our one and only night stay in Southampton. The menu had some great options and it looked busy, so we decided to eat there for dinner. Our server was nice and friendly and happily switched out a cocktail that did not taste good for another. We were one of the lucky ones who got bread served while we waited (the table next to us was told they ran out of bread). I ordered the duck, which sounded delicious, but was rough and quality was not good at all. My husband ordered the truffle burger which had good flavor, but was terribly dry. Very pricey for the quality. I wouldn't even want to pay $10 less per entree. Didn't bother staying for dessert. Shocked how busy this place was. Perhaps the dining options in Southampton are slim...Would not recommend. read more

Disappointed. Waited 45min for entre, no napkins at the table, no bread with butter. Food wasn't great. Service was poor

i ordered linguini with g+o and broccoli rabe. The pasta was hard and the portion was so small for $25. one side of broccoli rabe is $12 but to get it in my pasta it was $8 extra and barley anything in there? My Ketel one and seltzer was $16 and my friends titos and ginger ale was $18. kind of outrageous for a vodka soda. i also asked for a plastic cup for my drink and waiter brought me a reusable plastic cup? the whole point of me asking for a plastic cup was that i would know it was new and not reused? he told me that's what they have for plastic. but then the second time i asked for a plastic cup he brought me a disposable plastic cup? so for lack of listening / disregard by the waiter for not being a little more attentive and understanding i have to give this a low rating. honestly the only reason i'm giving it 2 stars is because the ambiance is nice but the food was very thrown together and not worth the prices. You're paying for the name of the restaurant and to sit there. They also served the pasta with a twirling spoon in the pasta which i didn't want and didn't think i'd have to specify not to do that since i feel like that's pretty obvious to not put something in someone's food but to serve it on the side if the person wants to use it. I'm trying to be careful with CoVid and i just felt like the waiter/ restaurant wasn't understanding of that. read more

75 Main is located in Southampton, part of the Hamptons, playground of the rich and famous in the south fork of Long Island. As such, I expected 75 Main to be very expensive, annoyingly elitist and not very good. My assumptions were incorrect. The restaurant has a well-trained staff, its prices are not excessive and the food was delicious and well-prepared. I had the orecchiette with sausage and it was so tasty that I did not waste a single drop of the sauce, using pieces of bread to mop it up and place into my waiting mouth. Yum. read more

I went to have brunch here with my girlfriend on Saturday - We decided to sit in the back area of the restaurant. The restaurant itself is nice but I was disappointed at the cleanliness of the restaurant. The linen napkins that were rolled up with our utensils were stained and dirty which I found to be unpleasant. I ordered a coffee with creamer on the side and when I put the creamer inside to mix it with the coffee there were clumps of what looked like floating bread. The food was pretty good (had omelette). The bathroom was dirty with paper all over the floor and I have to say for a restaurant who expects people to spend an arm and a leg- the owner needs to do a better job with getting a staff who knows how to clean things thoroughly. 3 stars for food and ambiance but 2 stars for cleanliness. read more
