I usually have a great experience at this 7-Eleven -- it's clean, convenient, and well-stocked. I come here very often, and during the day everything runs smoothly. However, I've noticed a recurring issue that's quite frustrating. This location is supposed to be open 24 hours, but on several occasions I've shown up around 3 or 4 AM, only to find a handwritten "closed" sign taped to the door. The employees working those late shifts often lock the store and appear to be inside but simply not serving customers. I understand that night shifts can be tough, but if the store advertises 24/7 service, it should honor that commitment -- or at least update the listed hours to reflect reality. Went there for a coffee late night and the coffee machine wasn't working and so I ask the employee on shift if he could help me but he was too busy flirting with one of the customers and I was there for 5 minutes and he never helped and I went back there yesterday and there was this women there I went to get a coffee again and the machine was broken she was a totally A-hole don't recommend going here very unprofessional. read more

This store has got some upgrades from the last time I came, but their cold brew machine is always out of order since the last time I came, since the 1st month of July. Still out of order as of 9/7, even though they said it'll be fixed 'soon'. Their other coffee machine near the cold brew machine is infested with ants, which disgusted me. Bought a pack of cigs here the other afternoon. Handed the employee a 20 and my change was four bucks and change. My response: ""What? I'm not paying that much. I'll return this item." Cashier responded that returns are not allowed without a manager onsite and handed me a receipt. Told me to come back the next day when a manager would be there. I don't live in Linda Vista, the price was not advertised, clearly marked or clearly stated and is 15% to 20 % other 7-11s in town. But the impetus is on me to drive there the next day to process an exchange? Is that even legal? Been to this 7 Eleven many times. I thought I wrote a review already, but I guess not. :) I usually come here for a pick me up or to use the ATM. They have a huge selection of energy drinks and coffee choices. I rarely, if ever, purchase gasoline here. It's more expensive than the 7 Elevens on Convoy. Service here is usually good. The cashiers are usually friendly, especially when I have the God Daughter in tow. She likes getting a mixture of slurpee flavors. Shoplifters beware... this place has a "Wall of Shame" where they post pictures of people that have stolen things from the store. The pictures usually show the perpetrator and there's a written caption of what was stolen; anything from beer, to a pack of gum, to candy bars, or chips. The owner / franchisee must have a lot of time on his or her hands. I guess they are hoping that the photos will be a deterrent, but based on the amount of photos (during all the times I've stopped in), I don't think it's working out too well. They do take the photos down every so often, then weeks later a new batch of photos appear. read more

I don't know the details and I get a free first review because of it. So shoot me. This one even has a gas station! Wowie wow-wow-wow!!! I only get gas here when I've allowed the tank to drop to 30 miles below empty. Whoops. They don't have any window cleaner in the buckets outside! There might not even be squeegies, but I can't remember. Inside, you've got your typical set up; registers on the right, dirty magazines below the counter, car magz to the left, beauty supply junk... beers. There is nothing spectacular here. I feel like I'm hungry sometimes, then go in and get a sick feeling of, "Ugh. I can't believe I actually thought for more than a second that I'd want to put this crap in my body." Everytime I go to this place it seems like its never busy, which is something I like! You can get in and get out super fast and not even wait in line to pay. Everything is usually always stocked, and they have well placement on a lot of cool little things around the store. The cashiers are always friendly to me. Gas is cheap and best thing about it is a redbox right outside!! Now for the bad, it also seems that it is a hang out for POLICE, and USD campus POLICE, something I do not like. Not sure why this 7-11 gets poor revues.. It's my fav of all of them.. It's just stocked non stop and the workers there all jump when asked for anything.. good people and great staff.. The downside is, the SDPD and campus police are sitting there in the parking lot eating donuts.. The super upside is to the north or left is a small Mexican farmers market with salsa, fruits and vegies, firewood and flower arrangements.. I love that place.. I support them all I can.. They speak English very well, so this place is a gem to me.. I park next to their fence, and hit the 7-11 and farmers market thingy at the same time, every time.. Win win!!! This is a decent 711 but the owners that bought it a couple of years ago are WAY TOO GREEDY! Their prices are higher than most 711's, their gas is always over priced, they don't Carry a good selection of taquitos, & they post shop lifter pictures all over the place. That is just weird. All of the clerks that work there are pretty nice. That was the one positive about the new owners. They got a new crew when they bought it. This not the best 7/11 but I live really close by so I come here a lot- (the cashier seen me before) I was treat rudely and than she tried to joke about it with he customer behind me (right in front of me) So I was got a hot coffee and I had a ice coffee for later plus breakfast and lunch. When I was getting charge out I asked if I can have some Stok- their the coffee shots which are free by the way. (Normally they have them at the coffee stations but this store limits your free stok) she was upset that I had asked for 5- & when she told me absolutely Not I said that's fine I'll pay- she than waited and afterwards told me only this time. . . (Sooo Next time I'll still offer to pay for free stok???) l felt very judged. My boyfriend and I are regulars at this place. The location is convenient and always open, plus they have a Redbox outside! The workers are all nice and helpful (plus it also helps that we are regulars). Other than that, the only thing I despise is the gas prices. Ever since this store switched owners a few years ago, the prices are higher than most 7-11's. They do not honor their sale signs on products... eg: Gatorade (2 for 3$). I've worked in management and I've never in my life heard such an unprofessional and extremely rude way to handle a long time paying customer and another fellow small business owner who was inquiring. If you're too busy to address a question, instead of blowing someone off and addressing them like they're incompetent. I used to go to this store often, my last time was last week when I purchased several things and they would not bag my stuff unless I paid .25 cents for a bag. The cashier showed me a sticker on the counter that says starting in January they are charging .25 cents for a bag. 7 eleven is already a rip off convenience store, they now want 25 cents for a bag to carry the overpaid items you just purchased. I used to go here to buy cigarettes. Last time I was there I noticed someone with a clipboard checking prices. When I asked for 2 packs of cigs the person with the clipboard (small dark haired woman) snapped her head around and asked the cashier if that was the "2 for" price. Yes, the prices are a little higher than other similar stores, but this store is always there for me, no matter what I need, from spaghetti sauce to cigarettes to lottery tickets and a Sunday paper. This place is extremely convenient for me and my family to grab a quick snack. There fast with service and extremely nice. The reason why i am rating this so low is of the act of security. Me and my husband walk in for coffee, i come in first, before this a crazy ex cholo lady comes and screams at him for making the turn to slow he has a low car anyone with a low car knows they have to come in slow. She comes at me as soon as i open the door getting in my face screaming at me about her kids i told her to get out my face and that i have kids myself. She shouldnt be tail gating a car so close in the first place the clerk tried to stop the conflict but then the lady turns on my husband getting in his face. My husband didnt react he just stayed still. I was very angry at this i told the clerk we are just here for coffee this lady is basically harassing me and my husband. The lady started calling me names like b**ch, etc. The clerk was giving the lady the oks for acting that sort of way. I asled the clerk call the police this lady is seriously harassing me. Clerk told me and my husband to stay quite when we werent even going off. Last time i stop here, i loved this place becuase the clerks new you as if you were family even though it was a quick snack they still gave you a comfort feeling.
