The store is built on a hill, so it has awkward driveways for their parking lot. Observations: -well lit parking lot nearest store -CLEAN store -very polite clerk -well stocked -Covid-19 shields at checkout -CCTV cameras I had an uneventful visit to this convenience store (C-Store). The store looks clean and well stocked. The clerk was polite, and called me "Sir" alot. I do have a little bit of history with this C-Store. I used to work for a national audit company that sent out teams quarterly to inventory the entire store. I had to come out to Pacifica at 6am and do the audit. Maybe next time I'll stop by in the daytime and see if I can catch these rude clerks mentioned in other reviews. Otherwise, you might want to give them a break. C-Store cashier is one of the most dangerous jobs in the USA, especially at night. Be safe out there, and Support Local Business!

You can shop there for years without realizing it's a small regional chain rather than a one-off local market. Add to that the fact that many people aren't California locals, and Molly Stone's becomes almost invisible as a brand--despite being an anchor wherever it lands. And that's the thing: their locations are strategic to a fault. Molly Stone's consistently positions itself where it can be the only traditional grocery option. San Bruno, Sausalito--places where if you search "grocery store near me," Molly Stone's is often the only real answer. They don't compete head-to-head with Nugget, Safeway, or Trader Joe's the way those stores compete with each other. They quietly monopolize convenience. From a business standpoint? Smart. From a consumer standpoint? Complicated. I did some research after a recent visit, and the pricing model is what really made things click. There was an article describing a product sold to Nugget, Trader Joe's, Safeway, and Molly Stone's at the same wholesale cost--around $7. Safeway sold it for ~$12. Nugget for ~$14. Molly Stone's? $22. That's not a premium--it's a statement. At that margin, the value proposition has to be airtight: exceptional staffing, elevated quality, and an experience that clearly justifies the price. And that's where, for me, Molly Stone's falls short. Yes, the stores are beautiful. Yes, the footprint is large. Yes, there's a sense of "luxury grocery." But the execution doesn't match the markup. The stores are consistently understaffed. Employees often seem stressed or disengaged. I've had multiple uncomfortable interactions, including outright rude ones at the San Bruno location. Compare that to Nugget--where staffing is abundant, live stations are running, and employees genuinely seem happy to be there. Nugget promotes internally, invests in people, and it shows. Even from a product standpoint, Nugget feels more tuned in. They're early adopters. They curate. They take risks. There was a long stretch where Nugget and Trader Joe's carried products Molly Stone's didn't--despite Molly Stone's charging significantly more across the board. This morning, I spent $30 at Molly Stone's hot bar on a modest breakfast. It wasn't bad--but it wasn't $30 good. At Nugget, I'd likely pay less and feel just as confident about quality, freshness, and food safety. And here's the bigger picture: in California, most grocery stores are buying from the same purveyors. Transportation costs are high. Supplier pools are limited. If 60% of the average grocery basket is identical across stores, then price differences should reflect labor, care, and service--not opportunistic markups. Nugget spreads costs thoughtfully. Slightly higher prices make sense when you factor in staffing, quality control, and smaller buying power. Molly Stone's, on the other hand, concentrates margin at the shelf--and seems to expect customers not to notice. Once you do notice, it's hard to unsee. Molly Stone's is convenient. It's polished. It's strategically placed. But at this point, I'd rather drive a little farther and spend my money somewhere that feels fair--to customers and employees. And honestly? If I'm choosing between Molly Stone's and Safeway these days, I'm not sure Molly Stone's is winning anymore. Bottom line: Beautiful stores. Smart locations. Tons of parking during this visit, and many of the latest added products were in stock. As is standard the store was clean and well maintained with a helpful friendly staff. That's what they do at the Peet's located at Serramonte Ctr., they make you feel like a close friend or even family. From the workers I've known there for the past year to even the newer people being trained by their amazing manager Blanca and her team, every day I stop by feels like a positive energy boost! Not only is the coffee great but more so, the welcoming, positive feeling I get there lasts me all day. I can't thank you all enough for how much of an impact you all have on my life and the lives of my coworkers who go there as well. Today we were are Serramonte Center in Daly City, California shopping at one of the .ost crowded malls in the country!Needing beans for our Monday French Press coffee, we dropped into this store which located in parking lot of the great complex. I was immediately greeted by a very enthusiastic Francesaska who took my order promptly which includes a 1lb bag of whole beans 1/2 pound Arabian Mocha Java and 1/2 Cafe Domingo and a fruit scone from my wife in the morning. Francesaska took my order and quickly went to fill my order after offering Peets complementary cup of coffee when buying beans. She stayed focus on my order while two other team members took orders for other customers or prepared coffees drinks. Impressive operations and friendly team. I did notice a full house of customers filled every seat inside and out. Many had been "camped out" for hours accordingly to a fellow customer stated, which says alot about how people enjoyed a comfortable setting. I got my coffee beans, free coffee and scone as I went on my! Nice friendly Peet's location which has been servicing the San Francisco Bay Area since 1966 and who's owner taught StarBucks team how to roast coffee in the 1970s.

Ditto my son who had the same complaint. I don't have an accent; I enunciate clearly. And expensive, oh my gosh. I swerved away from $6.99 bags of lemons and carefully shopped for anything else. I picked up our "Too Good To Go" bag- the reason for our visit- with three wedges of promising cheeses and bought $65 in groceries. No matter your income bracket - and I'm grateful I'm comfortable- you have to shop carefully at Whole Foods. This Whole Foods has better-than-average produce and well-stocked grocery aisles. They did vastly improve product displays so there aren't dead-end mazes like last time I shopped (I recall running into a 5-foot cul-de-sac of boxes of seltzer!) Magic Eight Ball still reads: "Ask again later".
