Only rings up as $1 off and refuses credit.

Will not honor advertised amd tagged sales price when digital wallet accidentally shows wrong price. Not because it was inaccurate, just a lazy salrs person and manager. Totally embarrassing situation i never should have endured. Won't ever ask for digital coupon price again (warning: you also don't get digital coupon unless you add the coupon to cart after clipping it - safeway trick to also not honor couoons but irrelecant in this case), and also never go to this Safeway again. Anyhow sad I had to share my experience seems par for the course at this location based on "1 Star" as the most common review.. Amazon Fresh delivery wins again. Also refused to give me the $5 price guarantee credit since item rings up higher than posted. You have a lot of other grocery options in Millbrae. ....and I can't tell you how many times I've seen elderly people struggling at the cash register here only to have the checker pretend to not speak English or tell them they they're doing the app wrong. Quality/Quantity - Came here for a last second birthday cake for our guest since our restaurant offered free cake service after our dinner. See Rin Tei Yelp Review. Limited selection, I chose the one that I felt my guest would enjoy the most. And it was a hit!! Chocolate with fresh strawberries. Atmosphere - Good size location. Has all the departments, including fresh sushi, see pictures. The fresh sushi cases were twice as large as most Safeways. Also has a Starbucks. Open 7 days a week from 5am to 2am. Large parking lot, but crazy busy at this mall. Too many big box brand name companies that share this parking lot. Service - Today free liquor samples. I did not try as it was way too early in the day. I know, can you believe I said that, lol. Had to flag down a few employees to finally get someone to write Happy Birthday on the cake we chose. Price - I think I paid almost $30. Reasonable price. Well for all the positive compliments that I got, it was worth it. LOL. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1915 with your 904 locations in 17 states. In 2015, Albertsons purchased Safeway.

Love their Asian buffet and wing bar. Always fresh and tasty. Great job Safeway!!!! We need a selection like this in Turlock

Nice store. Deli was overwhelmed but not too bad: some excellent deals. Number One was a three salad + one roll deal for $6.00. So smart! Gives customers a chance to sample. Not so great was the Friday $5/lb chicken wings. If you like cold, fatty wings, this is your destination. I'd have probably loved them if I could have re-cooked them to my taste (almost burnt). Oh well.

    Cranberries are for sale

Safeway seems to always have better bargains than the Nextdoor grocery store. My wife and I always see random great deals such as these cranberries.

I brought 2 packs wing with stickers of buy one get one free but the store manger will not honor it. I am so mad and frustrated

Thank you Safeway for the necessities and stay open when I needed it. Restroom needed some TLC but still, I survived. I stopped by for nature's call. So, I shopped a little bit afterwards. Starbucks has few items that interested me. But I went to deli section to get a quick bite. The store was clean and inviting. I didn't interact with cashiers at check out. So, my overall experience was pleasant. The parking garage is really convenient, especially it's right across from USPS.

The prices are crazy. And they lower them to only too high if you are a "member". But the checkers are amazing and kind.

Their candies/chocolates/cookies/breads are all very good in selections and prices. Amazing. Affordable. Some items are much cheaper than other places. It's very convenient and successful in the area on Broadway. Fruits and vegetables do stand out. It felt like I'm not in the U.S. for a moment after browsing the aisles. Fresh fresh fresh! All items looked good. Not sure if owner is Russian or European, but it's a unique place for visitors. These markets are more popular in streets of Paris, France and other parts of Europe. I loved the fruit prices and wide selections/so clean and organized with passionate employees enjoying their jobs. Cashier was quick and experienced. Box of $6.99 Russian coconut almond candy was very strong in flavor and coconut/nice! The box itself was beautiful too. Tempting. Chocolates were all outstanding from the box covers. Most quality goodies can be found for under $10 per box/pack. Under $15 range is pretty decent for larger items. Not bad for a good find on Valentine's Day. I'll revisit next time. Great impression so far.

Inside the market is a modestly lit establishment, but it works well for what they are trying to achieve. The market sells a wide variety of commodities and fresh produce; as well as items from other countries. The service was nice and friendly. I will always continue to come back to this outstanding fresh produce market.

I have multiple quarls that have turned into stressors with Safeway. I've had constant issues with…read morethe app. One of my biggest issues & time consuming endeavors was with my Safeway card in 2025. I would scan my Safeway card, nothing would happen & the cashier would have to reset the screen. Checker after checker nobody knew why for months. I'd be waiting there a min. of my life. I literally broke down on one knee with my hands in the air & said I don't know what the problem is. A bagger explained that everything's electronic now so my Safeway card won't work anymore. I discarded it, ever since, I've had to press my phone number into the screen taking up time & exposing myself to germs. At the self-checkout the automated voice asked you to scan your card, geez! On 5/19/25 I get Pre-Made market food at 15:00, when I got home 5-min away. The chicken was rock hard. In 2025 I bought a 12-in package of salami which was a little less expensive than the pre-cut one. Next to it I was charged an even higher price and they the regional manager rep I showed a picture of the display said that this shouldn't even be set up like this virtually knowing I got ripped off from the receipts and picture. In the fall of 2025 I passed by the manager's special rack & got a can of super hot chicken noodle soup. I was shocked that I was charged $8 on a can of soup 50% off. There's an amount of checkers they have that's an issue and buying alcohol I have to wait. I've had multiple issues with buying alcohol & the "ever-changing sales" attached to them. One of the receipts in my picture is regarding a charge for the buy one get one discount. You can tell from the timestamp it was nearing midnight which, means a minimal crew working. I don't like to hold up my fellow patrons or wait anywhere anymore to rectify purchase issues. I tend to want to get in & get out. There is only one item available so I ended up getting charged full price. The day after Thanksgiving I had a hangover & looking for replishment I forget to sign in to get the sale & ended up getting charged $5.49 for a $3.49 on sale orange juice. This is technically my fault, but it goes to show that it's leaving the shopping exp. confusing, time consuming where every shopping exp. we have to stop in the middle of every other product or aisle in order to pull out our phones or might look like one of these mindless sheep where we're constantly looking down on our phone, whether it's on the road or in the grocery store scrolling through pictures & hitting tabs to open up pages. It's dangerous & unnecessary. I've bought the Safeway select ranch for over a decade. I sometimes buy extra. On my B-day as part of a promo I bought 2 extra ones & got stuck with 2 expired ones when in need. This is the first time this has happened with any product & I believe somehow I got sold some soon-to-be expired ranch I wasn't expecting. I spoke with someone who used to be the manager of the Burlingame store and is now so regional manager in Sac. On the over 20-min call I went over all of my issues while sending her pictures so she had everything she needed. At the end she tried to tell me that I could always go up to the service desk to get my refunds if I had any issues and I told her at almost 40 years old I'm tired of wasting my time in that line or waiting for someone to come to that area and go through that process of getting my money back. And I was here writing this complaint in order to get a solution & which I wanted $200 in compensation. She didn't ever contact me afterwards. After rejecting Safeway's response they forwarding my complaint to Sedgwic. I continued to email the POC with current Up-To-Date issues at the same location that had had ripped me off & inconvenienced me, but no reply. Then on 2/./26 I got a call from the rep. with Sedgwick who is a 1/5 star Co. Who deals Workers compensation claims. I've actually dealt with them with such a claim years ago & they're very unprofessional/shady. He told me he only knew of one of my issues & if I had other issues they'd be different claims. It seemed tedious/time-consuming so I didn't proceed with my complaint. This just shows that they don't care maybe because they're mostly still a monopoly in certain areas.

A few seconds later, your loaf comes out perfectly. Sliced and ready to re-bag. Really like what they did with the new Safeway remodel at this location in several different areas. The bread slicer is one of them. Of course. The remodel of the alcohol section with a new wine cooler is also fantastic. And generally the store looks much neater and cleaner and updated. Give the Berlin game California Safeway a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
