Our hotel was literally 700 yards down from Mollie Stone's, which stood out as the lone supermarket/ grocery store in this shopping center full of restaurants. So we walked in looking for a juice bar or bottled cold pressed juices. The store did not have a fresh juice bar but did have a cold-pressed juice section. The initial reaction was sticker shock as the identical juices were $1.50 more per 12 oz bottle than Whole Foods. ( which also usually has some on sale). Walked over to the deli to get some hummus and some quinoa and again - not much variety but really pricey. The packages of chocolate too were on sale for $10 per package. Just seemed really steep. I was curious as this store in zip code 94066 iin San Bruno, California is not considered a wealthy or luxury area compared to Menlo Park and other adjacent acres in SF with higher per capita incomes and median single family home prices. Lastly we were 9 in the express line with one other cashier handling 5 customers with full carts. This store does have an Ace Hardware store inside and a Pete's Coffee plus beautiful fresh flowers. We did end up going to a Lucky Market the next day for the usual - water, veggies, fruits and ice cream, This will be an emergency go to but not a frequent or regular grocery run for me.

It's a bright, open airy spartan clean store with lots of different, varied sections, e.g. florist, bakery, deli, and the usual dairy, breads, etc. I had such high hopes for this store, but man oh man, the produce needs a serous upgrade and/or vendor. We bought some organic ambrosia apples and one bite after I got home, it was inedible and I threw out the entire thing--though crispy and promising from the exterior, it was bizarrely a mushy mess inside, and insipid as hell ... just yuck. What a waste--I didn't have the receipt, and nor was it worth the trouble to hoof it all the way back there for a refund or exchange. It's experiences like this that makes me not go back. On the positive side, Mollie Stones now has this partnership with of all places, Ace Hardware store ... whaaaat? It's charming in an offbeat sorta way. Customer service is fine, nothing to write home about but not noxious either. The parking, given it's in a strip mall, is plentiful and easy. If only their merchandise was worth parking for.

The people that work here are great but it's a little pricy. Great beer selection though so I come back.

Layovers happen often when flying and I often meet domestic and international tourists who had traveled and said they had a layover in San Francisco so they went to have a great meal around SFO but really they were having dinner in South Francisco in the suburbs not in San Francisco County but San Mateo County in the South Bay. Some say they stayed at a hotel in San Francisco by the Airport but really they stayed in South City but not in the city of San Francisco. The Pacific Market is a place in South San Francisco for great food from around the Asian Pacific Rim. You will find a seafood market which has everything from salmon to shrimp and meat to barbecue for any occasion . They have fresh produce and also have international beers and alcohol. You also find different types flavor condiments and sauces. They fly the food in from different countries from around the globe. You don't have to travel the world to enjoy food from around the Asian Pacific Rim because Pacific Market in South San Francisco is where you find it first if you are landing in SFO. Now I hope those who are flying to Oakland don't think they landed in SF at the newly named "Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport". Go to Pacific Market to grab drinks and seafood from different countries and different continents and different international flavors of sauces and condiments People travel from all around the world travel to San Francisco for the fun environments and to see the big beautiful fireworks on 4th of July over historical monuments

However, after my experience this morning at this store, I felt compelled to leave a review. Today, May 19th, at approximately 7:55 AM, I walked into the store looking to purchase flowers for my wife. Almost immediately, I was approached by an employee named Lisa. Rather than greeting me or politely informing me that the store wasn't open yet, she aggressively came toward me. Speaking rudely with food in her mouth, she snapped, "No. Get out. We're not open," shooing me away like some kind of fly. I was completely shocked. I entirely respect store hours and would have happily stepped outside for five minutes had I been asked nicely. What I cannot accept is being treated with immediate hostility, spoken to with a mouth full of food, and ordered to "get out" like a trespasser. This behavior is completely antithetical to the Trader Joe's brand. I bring this to your attention in the hope that local management will address this incident with Lisa and reinforce standard customer service etiquette. As I was leaving, I asked for her name. After telling me her name was Lisa, she followed up with the same attitude, "You want the store number too?" I'm sure she wants a follow-up conversation about this incident with management.
