I came to this gas station because they had a touchless car wash. I ended up going in to get a snack and decided on an ice cream sandwich that exceeded my expectations. It was delicious and clean ingredients. They also had a coffee machine that offered chai lattes, matcha lattes, golden milk. I will definitely come back. read more

This review is for their car wash only. I got the express wash and I'm very disappointed. It didn't clean my car much. The grime is still there that can be swiped off with your finger. The chemicals used in the wash are very harsh as it caused staining on my window trim. I'm out of my money and I have to spend more money to get my car cleaned and have the damage removed. Hangry Planet just got an Angry Customer and I won't be coming back. Please do not waste your time and money with their car wash. read more

This gas station across the street from Tanforan has artistic guts and character. You drive up there and there's a statue of a dinosaur alongside a statue of Putin riding a rocket. You go to get gas and there's signs taped there reminding you to think about the environment as well as notifications that they donate part of their profits to environmental causes. I've never been in the convenience store, but I hear it's all plant-based foods. I have, however, gone through the carwash and they put on a projection of fish while you are getting your car washed. While Hangry Planet is a gas station and convenience store, it's also kind of a giant piece of art. And like any good works of art, it will hopefully make you ask questions. It certainly made me ask questions. Like: How can there be an environmentally friendly gas station? But if I think about it, gas will also be a necessity for the near (and maybe distant) future, but you can use the profits to make donations to help the planet. And you can choose to cut ties with corporations that don't meet your ethical standards. Hangry Planet cut ties with Shell due to their lack of ethics, sustainability, and animal protections. Should I be eating less meat? My brain understands that the number one way I can probably help reduce carbon emissions is by cutting my meat consumption, but my heart and stomach don't go along. Hangry Planet is a good reminder to cut down and having a vegan convenience store helps facilitate that. Should I be using so much gas? Having an environmentally friendly gas station makes me question my own gas usage. I can definitely be more conscientious of fossil fuel consumption and choose to take public transportation or walk. What is Putin doing next to a dinosaur? This one beats me. Why do I feel bad but also a sense of wonder while watching projections of sea life while getting my car washed? Makes me remember to be more careful about my water usage. But also makes me want to take up scuba diving again. Don't be complacent. I saw this place on instagram a while ago and was definitely a place I wanted to visit. I came on a Sunday morning at about 6:30 and this place was open. It's a gas station with a car wash. It's a little store and everything inside is vegan. I love the concept of not killing animals. I think this is the only place that a vegan gas station. There's plenty of drinks and snacks that you wouldn't even know are vegan. I grabbed a few snacks the guy who rang me up was straight to business and I understood it was very early. Payment, wash, and blow dry machines look to be in good condition. Fantastical statues and murals plus radio music composed for the wash (didn't tune in). 4th in line, waited ~25 minutes. Website offers free ice cream for 40+ minutes wait and $2 discount for pre-paid wash 10pm-6am. Overall happy to have an affordable 24/7 touch-less wash that does a good job. Tip: after wash cycle, proceed slowly under dryer timed with countdown clock. Also a gas station, vegan convenience store, and vegan food truck on-site (haven't used yet). And in this GMO and junk food filled place, imagine the pleasant surprise when you discover a plant based gas station convenience store. From soft serves to donut farm donuts that get in everyday, kombucha to vegan sandwiches and pizza, laird drinks on tap to frozen meals, this place is a treat. It just happens to be vegan, off el Camino, opposite Tanforan. And it's open 24 hours! There's great artwork, a dinosaur eating Putin (used to eat Trump), and a very convenient 24 hour car wash, where if the line is too long you get a free vanilla oat soft serve or if you purchase a platinum plan. We went there 3 times in a week, once just to pickup some donuts for a friends party. So convenience, and in this inflationary time, very well priced. I love this place. My only regret is the fact that it's 45 minutes away from where I used to live and now is three hours away from where I now live. I love that everything here that is offered is plant-based. These snacks came in handy during a very stressful wedding weekend. It gave energy to many tired, sore, and worn out helpers. Not only do they offer prepackaged snacks, there are warm fresh pastries, hot drinks, and sandwiches. If you are in the bay area, and if you are plant-based but looking for some snacks and not wanting to resort to eating trail mix all the time, consider visiting this place. First, there's the amazing Vegan Mob food truck outside -- highly recommended!! Gas is more expensive than the other stations nearby but it's convenient because there is. 24/7 car wash and food mart. This is an all vegan food mart at the shell gas station in San Bruno, CA. If you purchase a car wash, you get free ice cream! The cruelty free food mart also has chocolate, candy, chips, protein bars, protein cookies, pastries, alcohol, soda, nuts, and other goodies! The usual clients that visit gas stations also visit this gas station, so I'd be more quick going forward. This is a quick healthier, convenience store. Quick in and quick out is recommended. Carwash with fun carnival vibes. Got their best wash on special for under $20. Includes washing the undercarriage. After a cross country journey, the car is now sparkling clean again, woo-hoo. The mini mart is crammed full with 100% vegan stuff, including Oatly soft serve (which was free with the carwash) and a few rotating local bakery goodies such as Donut Farm doughnuts. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. Love the sign about cows in the front window. Wish The Hangry Planet was in every major city. It's a brilliant idea for spreading kindness for animals. Some snacks do have "sustainable"palm oil or not ethical chocolate (see Food Empowerment Project chocolate list) so still need to check labels. You can also grab a yummy lunch from the Vegan Mob food truck there. Excellent comfort food. read more

Lol lol this place is AMAZING and the most interesting landmark I've come across in a long while. Not only are the vegan treats genuinely delicious but the outside is a true work of art. This place makes a statement and puts a smile on my face in a time when little does. The Laird hot beverages are so unique, a must try. Doughnuts fresh and delicious. The breakfast sandwich, I'm not kidding, was probably the best I've ever had, vegan or not. Vegan brownies...delicious. Just a gem of a place and a welcomed addition to San Bruno. Finally getting the full gas station food experience! So many different foods and snacks. They gave the drinks, candy, frozen food, coffee, etc everything you would find at a gas station but vegan. I got some frozen dumplings, a sandwich, vegan white chocolate (which I've never seen before), instant noodles, vegan "hi-chew", a coconut water kefir? They have so much cool stuff. It's exciting to see something as simple as a gas station turned vegan. When you come here, it feels like you've stepped into a vegan world. There are end factory farming signs and information about the dairy industry on the gas pumps. Written large on the building is "All animals deserve to be free and happy" and "no animals terrorized." You can tell that they didn't just decide to cash in on veganism like so many other plant based businesses who are afraid to put any animal related referencing. 10% of proceeds go to various charities (you can find the list on their website). Hangry Planet is a decent size with plenty of snacks and toiletries to choose from. Not only do they bring in various vegan brands, but they bring in a wide range of flavors and options within the brands. There's even a Bitcoin ATM, Icee machine, and "Immersive" car wash experience if you need any of that. The immersive experience seemed to be broken when I tried it, but I'm curious to try again sometime. For the sake of getting people trying vegan businesses, I'm actually glad that they still sell lotto tickets, cigarettes, etc. Because either way, people are going to go to gas stations for those needs, and this is the WAY better option for where to go. read more

Vegan sensory overload and we loved it. The selection of food was so varied it was hard to focus on what to buy. Needless to say we all walked out with our arms full of delicious convenience food. Check out person was friendly and very efficient. The vegan aspect almost seems accidental. But the hard-to-miss cruelty free messages found everywhere in and outside of the store are most welcome. Don't bother. I honestly thought this was going to be a paradise of vegan, cruelty free products. It's largely a head fake. Pringles, Gatorade and candy... paradise lost. There are isolated snack items that may or may not fit the banner advertisement but this gas station owned convenience store is more marketing than actual substance. read more
