I saw this place on instagram a while ago and was definitely a place I wanted to visit. I came on a Sunday morning at about 6:30 and this place was open. It's a gas station with a car wash. It's a little store and everything inside is vegan. I love the concept of not killing animals. I think this is the only place that a vegan gas station. There's plenty of drinks and snacks that you wouldn't even know are vegan. I grabbed a few snacks the guy who rang me up was straight to business and I understood it was very early. It's a little pricey but I did get healthy snacks without harming any animals.

Gas station convenience stores in the US aren't something to write home about as compared to Italy where you can find amazing espresso made fresh. And in this GMO and junk food filled place, imagine the pleasant surprise when you discover a plant based gas station convenience store. From soft serves to donut farm donuts that get in everyday, kombucha to vegan sandwiches and pizza, laird drinks on tap to frozen meals, this place is a treat. It just happens to be vegan, off el Camino, opposite Tanforan. And it's open 24 hours! There's great artwork, a dinosaur eating Putin (used to eat Trump), and a very convenient 24 hour car wash, where if the line is too long you get a free vanilla oat soft serve or if you purchase a platinum plan. We went there 3 times in a week, once just to pickup some donuts for a friends party. So convenience, and in this inflationary time, very well priced. Whether you want to stock up for a trip or dinner, this place will make you less hangry.

I love this place. My only regret is the fact that it's 45 minutes away from where I used to live and now is three hours away from where I now live. I love that everything here that is offered is plant-based. These snacks came in handy during a very stressful wedding weekend. It gave energy to many tired, sore, and worn out helpers. Not only do they offer prepackaged snacks, there are warm fresh pastries, hot drinks, and sandwiches. If you are in the bay area, and if you are plant-based but looking for some snacks and not wanting to resort to eating trail mix all the time, consider visiting this place. It is a bit pricey so you should expect to leave with at least $100 worth of snacks.

Gas is more expensive than the other stations nearby but it's convenient because there is. 24/7 car wash and food mart. This is an all vegan food mart at the shell gas station in San Bruno, CA. If you purchase a car wash, you get free ice cream! The cruelty free food mart also has chocolate, candy, chips, protein bars, protein cookies, pastries, alcohol, soda, nuts, and other goodies! The cashier was nice and worked as fast as he could when there was a long line. I did not have trouble finding parking in the lot.

Inspiring and progressive healthier convenience store attached to a gas station and car wash. Great location so it's quite busy. The usual clients that visit gas stations also visit this gas station, so I'd be more quick going forward. This is a quick healthier, convenience store. Quick in and quick out is recommended. They featured a great vegan food truck called "Vegan Mob" which had multiple delicious fresh dishes we liked. 5/5 stars

Carwash with fun carnival vibes. Got their best wash on special for under $20. Includes washing the undercarriage. After a cross country journey, the car is now sparkling clean again, woo-hoo. The mini mart is crammed full with 100% vegan stuff, including Oatly soft serve (which was free with the carwash) and a few rotating local bakery goodies such as Donut Farm doughnuts. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. Love the sign about cows in the front window. Wish The Hangry Planet was in every major city. It's a brilliant idea for spreading kindness for animals. Some snacks do have "sustainable"palm oil or not ethical chocolate (see Food Empowerment Project chocolate list) so still need to check labels. You can also grab a yummy lunch from the Vegan Mob food truck there. Excellent comfort food.

Lol lol this place is AMAZING and the most interesting landmark I've come across in a long while. Not only are the vegan treats genuinely delicious but the outside is a true work of art. This place makes a statement and puts a smile on my face in a time when little does. The Laird hot beverages are so unique, a must try. Doughnuts fresh and delicious. The breakfast sandwich, I'm not kidding, was probably the best I've ever had, vegan or not. Vegan brownies...delicious. Just a gem of a place and a welcomed addition to San Bruno. I can't wait to go back to get my car washed and to try the dairy free oat milk soft serve. Thank you owner of this fine hilarious establishment ( whoever you are) for making my day. I'll be back for years to come:)

I wish Yelp did a better job with flagging vegan restaurants. So I'm going to write vegan a few times with the hopes this vegan mini mart will show up in search more often for vegans. Great selection -- soooo many options. Worth a stop if in the area.

What a strange, strange Safeway…read more The highlight of the place is that the first level of the building is the parking level. The only part of the "store" on this level is the staircase and elevator. Otherwise, I think the store takes up the entirety of the second floor. The elevator has a huge car that can fit many people and shopping carts, but it took a long time, both to be called and to move, when I was coming and going. It was only when I left that I noticed that there are actually two entrances: the one I used near the middle of the parking lot and the one farther north. When you come up from the central stairs/elevator, it's as if you're inside any other Bay Area Safeway. Besides customer service being right next to this entrance, nothing else would alert you that you've floating over all this parking. Like almost every other Bay Area Safeway, the layout is both familiar and slightly different. You'll generally find the bakery and produce sections on opposite sides, but beyond that, everything is just so. In this store's case, all the cheese is in a regular refrigerated aisle; in most stores, it's along the back wall. It's one of the few Safeway stores that hasn't added local street names to its aisles. That was cute at first, but now that seemingly every Safeway (and at least one Vons in SoCal) has that--and some of the names are misspelled or have the wrong street type--I'm over it. Aisle 3 can just be aisle 3. It doesn't have to double as El Camino Real. I was shocked at how few people were in the store on a Saturday night. Because of this, I barely had to wait in line for checkout, and I was downstairs at my car pretty quick. The checker did a pretty poor job of bagging, but it wasn't atrocious, just wrong. I happened to be returning some canned goods here when I came. When I got to customer service, a woman was arguing her point about some discount she received in addition to WIC or some other need-based debit card. Two different customer-service people were standing there listening to her argument, and even after they had each explained to her three times the different options for resolving her issue, she continued to argue. That's fine, more power to her, but I don't understand why one of the customer-service people couldn't start providing me with customer service. When I finally did speak to the younger person, she didn't know whether they would accept my return, and she had to wait for the other person to confirm that they wouldn't accept my return. For some reason, Safeway doesn't accept returns after thirty days, even with a receipt. These were canned goods that didn't expire until 2028, but a policy is a policy, I guess. I ended up leaving the cans there, because I didn't want them. When I left the store about a half-hour later, the cans were still sitting on the customer-service counter, untouched.

I had an incredibly frustrating experience at this Safeway location involving a defective product…read more I purchased a bottle of wine that had a faulty seal; it leaked all over my car and other groceries before it was even opened. When I brought the 1/3 empty, defective bottle back for a return, I dealt with Chrischelle at the customer service deck. Her behavior was completely unprofessional. She was immediately defensive and actually shoved my receipt back at me. Even worse, she tried to mislead me by citing "ABC laws" to claim she couldn't refund a defective item--which was untrue given the circumstances. The "Defective" ABC Exception: Under California Business and Professions Code Section 25600, a retailer is permitted to refund or exchange an alcoholic beverage if the product is defective, spoiled, or unfit for consumption. A leaking bottle with a compromised seal falls squarely into this category. Despite acknowledging the product was faulty and that I was within the return window, she remained rude and refused to help. I eventually had to file a credit card dispute, which I won easily because the bank agreed the item was defective. Save yourself the headache and go to a store that actually stands behind its products and treats customers with basic respect.

We were waiting in line to redeem our scratchers (during our break) and so we were assisted by a short brown man named MACCOY. He on one of the side of his nose is a black mole. I remember his description because of how rude he is. He was assisting us with our winnings and purchases I had kind asked him if he could help us purchase more tickets. He gave me an attitude and said go to the next register. And so I did. Then I was waiting for my co worker to get his drink. I called over to my co worker (he was at the slushie machine) and I said Dan what's are you? Hurry up we're paying already! Then I can hear MACCOY yelling out loud multiple times "SASSY!, SASSY!, SASSY!" Which was very rude and uncalled for. Very unprofessional. It made me feel embarrassed because there were younger ladies (teens) next to me on the other register with Cashier names Sandy And they were looking at me. Like if I was being rude and "sassy" which I wasn't. This was very unacceptable and I will make sure this is brought up to the attention of corporate of 711. Also, how come MACCOY is not wearing a name tag but sandy was?? Aren't all employees suppose to wear name tags? Btw, sandy was very pleasant and sweet. Kind and helpful. We appreciate her most!
