However, I want to talk about the front store because, for the first time in a couple of years, I actually felt like taking the time to leave a review. I had a bad experience here several years ago and didn't really want to come back. But I went in last week, and something had changed. There was a new employee.... a very kind, Tall....beautiful, patient, and respectful young woman who treated me with genuine kindness. I also noticed the way she interacted with other customers, especially the elderly. She was incredibly patient and respectful with them, which really stood out to me. She was smiling the entire time and made the store feel much more welcoming. What really caught my attention was that she asked me how I was doing and whether I had found everything I needed. Those little things made a big difference because it showed that she genuinely cared about the customer experience. That's why I wanted to take the time to leave this review. I really hope they continue hiring more people like her. I just wanted to recognize her kindness, patience, professionalism, and positive attitude. I had a very disappointing experience at the Walgreens in Salinas a couple of days ago when I went to pick up my photos from the photo department.....During the afternoon. I had to wait for a long time, and no one came to assist me, even though the two employees working at the registers were dealing with two long lines of customers and still tried to help by calling the person in charge of the photo department. When the employee finally showed up... ( He was an asian guy) he had a very unpleasant expression on his face and walked extremely slowly. I honestly couldn't tell whether he was doing it on purpose or if he genuinely hated his job that much. To make matters worse, instead of helping me, he answered his cell phone and completely ignored me, leaving me standing there waiting while he talked on the phone. He then called over the female employee working at the register and asked her to come assist me. That's when I realized that she wasn't familiar with the photo department and that he was apparently going to show her how to handle the situation. However, what happened next was an even more unpleasant surprise. I want to emphasize that the female employee was incredibly friendly, polite, and, above all, professional. I mention this because of the way the male employee treated her. The man continued talking on his phone while walking away from her. She was clearly unsure of what to do. He started giving her instructions very quickly without fully explaining what she needed to do. She seemed confused, but she continued listening and trying to understand. Honestly, even I was confused by his instructions. I tried to follow what he was saying, but it was impossible to understand. He then told her to check the size of the poster I had ordered. She was just about to do so when he pointed at the poster in an extremely arrogant manner, raised his voice, and yelled at her that it was right there. She tried to say something, but he kept talking over her instead of allowing her to finish. I found his behavior incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. What impressed me most, however, was the way the female employee handled the situation. She was so professional, polite, and graceful that she refused to engage in an argument or respond to his attitude. She remained composed and continued trying to help me despite the uncomfortable situation he had created..... I believe this behavior deserves to be addressed. The problem was not her; she was doing her best to help me. My complaint is about the employee who treated both the customer and his coworker so poorly. I want to make one thing very clear: this is not a negative review of Walgreens as a company. I love Walgreens, and I will continue shopping at this location. This review is specifically about the employee who was in charge of the photo department that evening. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the cashiers working at the front registers. They were trying their best to help customers despite being busy with long lines. To the lovely employee who helped me that evening: Thank you for your kindness, patience, and professionalism. I truly appreciated your beautiful smile and your willingness to help me. Went back and spoke to employee who said they will check the cameras which took like 15 min. Finally manager said we did put item on the cart and the camera showed us putting all of our groceries in our car. Unless they have cameras behind Sonics, not sure how they're able to verify this since our car was parked all the way to the end. Manager explained they're not allowed to show us the video or picture due to their policy. The item was only $15.99, they treated us like we stole it. What probably happened was the item got left behind since they don't offer bags anymore, and person behind us took it. Never coming back again, unless I want to be treated like a criminal or racially targeted. Instead of helping the customer the manager was very condescending towards us. Tip for the higher management: Provide customer-facing HR or communication training for the grocery manager. This would give them better tools to support shoppers and resolve service issues smoothly.
