    Rude cashier

I'm a regular at this specific location. The man shown in the photo was very rude and yelled at me for talking on my phone....when asked if he was ok and what the issue was he told me that I buy the same thing everyday. Isn't that what a convenience store is for??? MY CONVENIENCE??? if you scroll further down you'll see a witness made a review as well! I didn't expect her to post anything but I'm very grateful she was there. I wasn't loud, I didn't make a scene. I asked what his name was and he literally told me to "get out" as if he owned the place. He was so rude to the point that another customer came outside to apologize for HIS actions. She let me know that he talked very nasty about me to her & she bluntly told me that she believed he was racist. With her being a Caucasian woman telling me that she thinks he's racist; that let me know everything I needed. I've started a case on him with headquarters. His attitude and energy was unacceptable.

Be wary. Price on lighted sign may not match the price on the pump. 1/28/25 the pump price was $.37 higher

She did not know how to choose the annuity option for mega millions and said her manager is outside doing the grounds. I went to look for her and found her dumping boxes in the dumpster. I said excuse me could you help me with lotto tickets because the lady inside doesn't know how to do it? And the managers response was "yeah when I'm finished here". I thought that was a really rude response especially for a manager of the store when you have only one employee on a Saturday at noon running the register and doesn't know how to do the lotto machine with annuity payments. I walked back inside the store and now there were 5 people in line in front of me. I was just going to pay for my drink and leave. The manager came inside about 2 min later and hopped on a register and started helping checking people out. When I got to her I told her what I wanted and she completed my order. As I was walking out I heard her tell the other cashier not to ever send customers out to her when she is in the dumpster area. I do not know the managers name because she had no name tag on. The other cashier did not either. The manager was a thin white lady with brownish real curly hair. I do not think she was polite and did not have the customers best interest in mind. She rather throw away boxes then help customers and leave one girl on the register at peak hours. Also cashiers need to be trained on all aspects of the job and know how to do cash value and annuity options.

Steve up in Kansas City has a corner on the market for Slick extensive reviews of good-looking new convenience stores. So, I thought id give the other end of the stick, the yin of his yang, and a little fame. These guys that have been around for decades with little to no change are going going gone. Now that doesn't, in and of itself break my heart. I don't necessarily frequent convenience stores like I once did. But, Im intrigued with these time capsules so, Ill review for your enjoyment. If nothing else the photos should be interesting. Keep an eye out for the Patent Pending back of the store shot! What originally drew me in was the front sign Bait Sandwiches! Now the person that originally carried out that design probably had no idea what it would eventually look like to someone from the road. Or maybe they did but, doubtful. Either way, it's quirky cool in my opinion. My adventurous nature dictated that I go inside and look around. Im not one to do this type of thing without paying my dues. In this case, it was purchasing a 16 ounce bottle of water. It was steep I thought at $1.79 cents. but then again, this store literally has a corner on the market and its the only thing around. On the main road to a local lake,Lavon. If you've forgotten something, this is your stop and it shows. By the selection of items you can tell who the main customers are. Now to the good part. I found the bait! but no sandwiches! The Tiny kitchen that apparently makes burgers during lunch was closed! I can imagine back in the day,it was open all the time. I think probably it would be open 24.7 on this corner if they made a killer hamburger, dont you? The bait was alive and ready. A 30 gallon aquarium of minnows! I ask what appeared to be the owner about the minnows. He mumbled something I didnt understand and disappeared into the back not to return. Next time your passing one of these establishments of yesteryear, I urge you to consider stopping for a look around. Really interesting and they sell bottled water.

El Primo Taqueria in McKinney is excellent! I can't believe we haven't tried this place before…read more(they are about to celebrate 24 years). We were looking for somewhere to eat and saw a bunch of cars in their parking lot and decided to try it - a very good move. They are a in a modest setting (classic Taqueria), but the food was fantastic. We ordered a tacos of al pastor & lengua, 4 birria tacos, 3 gorditas - 2 of lengua and one of chorizo, along with a chile toreado and 2 Topo Chicos. The had a mild green sauce and a spicier orange sauce along with a bowl of pickled jalapenos, carrots and onions on the table (see photos). While the tacos were good, what really stood out were the gorditas - they may be the best ones I have ever had. They almost looked like they were grilled but they were fried they were not fooling around - just onions, cilantro, & the meat that you picked inside. Outstanding! (I later find out that they make their own chorizo). The birria - queso tacos were also excellent, but the consume (dipping sauce) was fantastic. It had a bit of onions and cilantro, and it was just a little bit spicy - not greasy at all. Value wise, this place rocked. The tacos were $2.19, birria sold in either 3 ($9.99) or 4 ($12.99). The gorditas were also sold 3 at a time for $9.59 or $10.99 depending on your meat selection. The service was also great! We dined in and they brought menus and took our orders and asked us several times if we needed anything. This place also has a Mexican Market and Butcher shop where they make their own chorizo, milanesa's, and cecina. The quality of the meat looked very good so we bought a couple of pounds to try it. If you like authentic Mexican Taquerias, you need to give El Primo a try.
