It's a good enough 7-Eleven... there is another one about a block away I usually go to when I'm the area, but for the sake of everyone in La Mesa I decided to get my customary energy drink from this location. So that you could be safe in the knowledge that energy drinks were available... They are! I decided to get a Bang "Wyldin' Watermelon" because the name is ... sort of funny to me. The real question -of course- is if this drink flavor was indeed "Wyldin'"and if so, to what extent was it "Wyldin'?" As most of my educated readers know, Wyldin' is a spectrum and in my personal opinion this flavor was only mildly Wyldin'... you will not feel like you are drinking the flavor of a drug fueled party rampage ending in your arrest... but you might get a bounce in your step that will make you a little dangerous if crossed. Don't even ask me how I know. I just do. Fake watermelon flavor enthusiasts will find themselves pleased with the watermelon portion of this drink. Came here after visiting Jackson Park up the street. Needed a drink after playing tag and running around with the god daughter. Kids are energy vampires! Standard 7-Eleven... (relatively) fresh coffee, slurpee machine, candy, ATM and so forth. They will actually make brew a fresh batch of coffee (if it's old) and if you ask them. Too late in the evening for me for caffeine, so I didn't ask. I did need some money. Since I'm a credit union member I can use 7-Eleven ATMs free of charge. I withdrew some cash for dinner (at Bronx Pizza) and we got a couple of drinks. Store is nice and clean. The employee there was mopping the floor. We didn't want to mess up the mop job, so we walked around where the employee was mopping. We were in and out quickly. There was a line, but another employee opened another register. Nice standard 7-Eleven... nothing really stood out. read more

This is the second time i have visited this 7-11, and both times the asian guy that works there in the mornings is very rude, he asked me "Why so early" while he is moping the floors, when it is a 24 hour 7 eleven. The second time i went he yelled "F_k" in the back room like he was upset i was there so early, trying to get a cup of coffee, he didn't even have any coffee ready he said it was too early. Being a 24 hour 7 eleven, coffee should always be prepared and ready 24-7 and those comments he made were very offensive, as a customer service employee, he is a bad employee for 7-eleven. read more

About a year ago me and my husband got there to get some beer but we were harassed by African American male cashier and drunk lady, that was mopping the floor, named Rosi. They refused to sell a beer to us because as they said passport isn't our ID. Rosi was yelling as an insane "You are the bitch!!"" Your wife is a bitch" throwing a mop at me and was about to fight with me because I had no drivers license. The next day I found the owner of this store, talked to him, showed a video of his drunk employee harassing me, he apologized and said he will talk to his employees and explain to them that passport is a legal ID that can be used to purchase alcohol. We came there yesterday, nothing has been changed. Same African American male throwing my passport and refusing selling a beer. Good job guys! read more

Terrible service. I've come here twice and so far the ladies that work there are literally the worse. One was on her cellphone the entire time she was ringing me up and today the lady that was ringing me up was literally not listening to what I was saying and I can tell I was a bother to her and wanted to just move on. I reminded her I ordered one rolled taco (jalapeño and cream cheese) and she didn't give me my taco both the customer behind me and myself reminded her. And she also gave me the wrong taco and gave me this annoyed look. People need to start being written up or something because I get that maybe working at 7-eleven is rough and you don't want to be there but I didn't make you work there so don't be rude or give horrible service to paying customers. read more

This is the Slurpee spot closest to my favorite nacho spot. I come in here to get my Slurpee fix and occasional what nots. It's a pretty basic store. They have Slurpee machines, a regular drink machine, and of course coffee. There are some fresh food options and they sell pizza here that my kid for some odd reason enjoys. Be sure to check the expiration dates on your products though, I once got all the way home with milk and saw that it had expired a week earlier like a dummy. The staff here are usually nice. They aren't all smiley, but this doesn't bother me because it's 7-11 and I'm just here for the Slurpees. Sign up for their 7Rewards app and every 7th cup of any drink is free, plus they have other offers added the more often you scan it. read more

Just left this location, I know she'll remember me. Cause how do 3 DIFFERENT cards decline?!? (I have 2 debit cards/1 cc on my apple pay). I even thought it was my Apple Pay at first since The Face ID is a joke with masks nowadays, but each time after entering my pin she said "it's declined" I said those all didn't go through? Knowing damn well I have the funds, even double checked in the parking lot to make sure my all my cards were working properly. So okay, I don't fault her for the payment failing but her handling of it during was a absolute joke to customer service. She had no problem treating the gentleman behind me with decent customer service, they seemed to know each other (I.e he's stops in often). She really thought I went in there to buy a Big Gulp and 2/$2.50 water just to not be able to pay for it. Then as I realize the Apple Pay isn't working, I'm about to pull out my wallet with my cash and physical cards and this lady starts pulling the items away from me, as if I said "oh I'm not gonna get them after all". I obviously came in to purchase the drinks, so long story short paid cash which I should've in the first place but I get rewards on my cards not cash. Well, where to begin. We will NOT be coming back, not only because we have been "banned". My boyfriend and I live up the street and so we were at this location quite often. Usually theres a couple of homeless people out there harassing you for money, I mean will NOT leave you alone. They're threatening, aggressive, and obviously under the influence of something. Well last night we came in and purchased, coffee creamer, water and chocolate milk. (I know, two grown adults we were really looking forward to sharing that) when my boyfriend drinks the chocolate milk we realize its over a week expired AFTER he gets sick from the soiled milk. Realizing we were never offered a reciept, we call and explain what happened, after acknowledging we should have checked the expiration date and asked for a receipt, even though as patrons, that is most definitely NOT our responsibility. Spoke to a girl on the phone she seemed nice and horrified at our expierience. Said it was no problem if we came by the next morning, she would write down our name and the incident. We were very pleased that we could resolve this. Well, next morning before work we go by the 7-Eleven and my boyfriend spoke to an older man and told him the situation, bringing the expired milk. The older man does NOT acknowledge my boyfriend. WILL NOT give him any sort of validation that he is hearing him or any sign of help. Boyfriend says look up my name please I know they wrote it down I'm running late for work. The man still is of no help and is rude and argumentitive with my boyfriend. My boyfriend leaves, frustrated of course, When he gets back to the car the EMPLOYEE is yelling at my boyfriend telling him to Eff off and that we're not welcome here anymore? Hes calling the police on us? So if you want to get "banned" from somewhere for having an issue with a product, and have someone threaten to call the cops on you, then DEFINITELY go to this establishment. ;) Me, being stubborn and loyal to my significant other, I felt the situation was not resolved. I went back after an hr and brought the milk with me again and explained that we were promised a new one to a manager. Other girl behind the counter very rudely kept interrupting my conversation with the manager saying that the older man previously mentioned was frustrated because he was trying to do two things at once. Well with my several years in the customer service industry the golden rule of thumb is that "customers come FIRST". So hes mad he has to hear a complaint from a patron? Please, quit your job then. I ended up getting my money back from the manager who was actually slightly helpful. So thank you to her. It was not about the money, I don't cry over "spilled milk" ;), its about being treated as a human being and not some piece of garbage. The parking lot is so jacked up that I hate coming here. In addition to the parking, the people who hang around outside this 711 make this place a no-go for me. I live close and it should be my go-to but I've been harassed getting in and out of my car (in said crap parking lot) and there's usually pan handlers too. Worst 7/11 I have ever been to, if something is on sale they ring it up at normal price till you tell them you saw it on sale. Workers are rude. I payed cash once and when the cashier gave me my change she placed the coins and dollars on the counter when my hands were out to receive it. I've come to this 7-11 almost every day since moving here. Until now. I recently ran into an employee who is the rudest man I have ever met. First, he refused to scan my rewards card - laughed about it and then was a complete jerk when I was surprised at his behavior. The next time, he refused to take my money because I set it on the counter rather than putting it in his hands. He then proceeded to lecture me on proper manners for women. To say I was pissed is an understatement, pretty sure I cussed him out....he's an a**hole. I will never go back to this store again. The guy at night is a complete jerk "super tony" I think I heard one customer call him. He'll ignore you and continue doing whatever, and most of the time seems like he's on speed. I really hate writing negative reviews I love embracing positive aspects about a business, but this guy maybe just need some positive coaching. Who knew they had sweet tea?! Advertised as "freshly brewed", I could care less whether or not this was true. It was sweet tea bliss. 99¢ Big Gulp of heaven! It was perfectly flavored, not too sweet or bitter. It was refreshing, especially after eating an awful Breakfast (really, potato) Burrito from El Azteca. I would definitely recommend the sweet tea to all my friends and family. I don't frequent 7-11 too often, but now I have a reason to. I finished it before I was out of the parking lot. I was gonna get a refill for 99¢, but decided against it. This was definitely a treat in the morning. I only gave them 4 stars instead of 5, because as I walked in, the 3 employees (who were stocking items) looked up at me, but didn't acknowledge me. I'm not sure if this is standard practice, but I don't care. I discovered 7-11's sweet tea! That was enough to make me happy. read more

I previously used this 7-11 as my coffee stop in the morning since it was so close to my house. It can be a pain keeping the coffee full, but the former employee, Marisela did it just fine. Now they've got this young lady who probably can't be bothered with such menial tasks because the coffee is ALWAYS EMPTY IN THE MORNING. Specifically, I'm talking about their "regular" flavor which is probably the most popular. It's frustrating when any other 7-11 with 2 employees are able to keep the pots filled, and the current employees at this branch seem to care less. What's even more sad is when the regular customers have taken to just taking the initiative themselves and brewing a new pot. That was somewhat doable in the past when the coffee was in the individual 12-cup carafe's, but now that they've upgraded to these industrial-sized coffee pots, it's a little harder for "Joe customer" to do the work for them. So, since I can no longer get a decent pot of coffee I've written this location off. Whoever the franchise owner/manager is needs to kick these people into shape. read more
