I come here often for gas. And sometimes it is on late nights. During the day there is always someone there to cover the front desk. This place is convenient because it's open 24 hours inside but but lately the last 2 or 3 times that I've come here there's no one working in the front for one, that's just bad for business because someone could just come in here God forbid and take stuff and also there's no one there to help the customers. Therefore on this particular morning nobody was up front I heard someone after waiting almost 10 minutes singing in the back with the music so loud he could not hear the door ring or me having to raise my voice for help even with the freezer door open. Pretty well stocked inside. The employees smoke inside, which is really nasty. It has an Amazon locker in the back, it's black, not orange if you are looking. The gas pumps are terrible and you will NEVER get a receipt from the pump. Gas is always a rip off because it's right off of two freeways and across from the car lot. The design of the parking lot is straight up knucklehead. It backs up on both sides. People PARK at the pumps and go inside for stuff. Stop the insanity! I've seen a lot of crazy shit here, even midday. It's not super safe or family friendly. Listing says Circle K, but it's now a 76 Gas Station/My Goods Store. I love this gas station, & all of its employees, i have never experienced one problem here at this store!!!! Maybe an occasional gas pump down, but that's about it All of the employees are wonderful, especially Diane i love her, she's always doing what she is supposed to be doing and is always super friendly towards me!!!! i personally will come in the store just to say hello to Diane just cause that's the kind of person i am! I love all the girls that work there equally & feel that they do a stupendous job of handling that store, day in & day out!!!! Why is this place always locked at night now??!! Every night I go now; door is always locked and Diane is always sitting by the register on her phone! Ughhh we knocked and got no response so I tugged the door and she raised her voice at me telling me and my child that we "SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF HER!!!" My child proceeded to say "Mom she said a bad word!" I told her I'm use to it only being locked when the fridge is being stocked hinting that the shelves were empty and she was just sitting there on her phone and she returned with "Lanie told me to lock it at night and the old manager would lock up at 10pm" with my response "I've been coming here 16+ years and it was literally only locked to fill the fridge" I asked her for a 7up and she snapped "No! We dont have none..." I asked her to check please and she was hesitant I really wish they'd replace her already. I stopped by Circle K today to purchase a lottery ticket. The clerk was friendly and efficient. I've been to this Circle K before and it is always clean inside and out. As I looked through the shop the shelves were neat and they carried a little bit of everything. It is a "total" convenient store/gas station. There was only one clerk on the floor and she was handling her job very well. She was answering questions, ringing up customers and maintaining a pleasant manner. read more

This is a pretty convenient place for me to buy my milk duds. They always have them in stock and they're open all the time. Their well known competitor with the numbers for a name doesn't carry milk duds and the ones near my house also don't sell fuel. If I'm feeling especially energetic, I fill up my tank and pop inside for some milk duds and airheads for the lil dude. I don't buy cold drinks here at the self serve because they have styrofoam cups which are ridiculous in this day and age. Who still carries styrofoam?? It's a shame that they don't switch to something that is more environmentally friendly. I didn't mark the store down in my rating because that's a decision made by Circle K, not the franchise owner. The service here has always been really friendly and professional. I appreciate how nice they are to my son when I bring him in here with me. He's always treated like a customer, a lot of businesses don't do that, and I've been known not to return to those establishments. read more

Small gas station. One of those where if you didn't come in the right way you're kind of screwed and stuck making a bunch of 3 point turns to squeeze into a spot. There are only 2 stations (4 pumps), one strip, so be strategic in which driveway you decide to come in from. They're modern pumps which I like. Always important to me. They also sell propane at this station, quite handy when throwing a BBQ and you realize you're out of the goods :-) read more

The people that blow in from off the freeway are simply repugnant, intolerable and insatiable, yet he manages to keep it together simultaneously keeping the store clean and helping actual customers, at fast pace. They charged my debit card twice, after stating they cancelled a charge - I wanted premium gas and they originally put regular gas - so had to cancel and redo. I waited to see if my bank would drop one of the pending charges and they did not. Called to report to them and the manager responded that he 'guarantees' they did not charge me twice and I must have pumped gas twice. Really rude, would not let me explain that both charges went through. He said he sees this all the time .. meaning they do this all the time. After guaranteeing that day that the first charge would be cancelled. read more

This place sucks. I sometimes, very rarely go there mainly for the overpriced gasoline my vehicle needs. It is hard to get in and out of here, whoever designed it was a rookie, and most of the people that come in here cannot park in the right spots, and don't know how to navigate a too packed lot (A 5 point turn in the driveway, really?). Last night I went there to get gas because I missed my exit to go to Arco, so, swearing into the night I ended up at this mistake of a business. There were two all black beemers on either side of the pumps- one was just parked there and the dude was spittin out his dip all over the floor. the other side had the dudes smoking in the car with the windows down while pumping gas. SMARTEST PEOPLE EVER. The driver got out of the car to shut off the pump, and I'm thinking "Ok, I'm gonna die tonight, just like Zoolander's roommates." (Ah do the jitterbug...) Well, I'm still here. So I put my card in to pump gas, and it says please see attendant. Grrrrr! I walk across the lot, and try to go inside, and yay! the doors are locked! I tried them again and the guy says something I can't understand sounded like "blargle nuadle teen meeneetz." I swiftly left and drove down the street to Arco and left with a full tank. I fill up my personal vehicle and my work vehicle here all the time because it's the closest place to my house but this gas station is a frustrating experience almost every time you go.. Aside from the gas station being very poorly designed so you have to fight for a spot at the pump, the staff members constantly stuff the rewards card down your throat and unnecessarily ask for ID! Which is fine, but at 6am when everyone is trying to get in and get out so they can beat traffic- they build the line up by asking if every single person if they have the rewards card and if they don't then they find one lying around the counter to swipe and then proceed to explain it to the customer.. The Hispanic woman with glasses here is the worst, she's so clueless when she has a line of 6 people- that she's the one causing the traffic jam and you can see the frustration of everyone in line.. Their store is supposed to be open 24 hrs but almost everytime I stop by to pick something up after work late at night the doors are locked and there is nobody in sight. One time I stopped to get gas and the doors were of course locked. Usually I just leave but I didn't think I had enough gas to make it home so I sat there and waited 45 minutes for the clerk to reappear at 1 in the morning. Some friends and I went in to purchase a six pack of beer and a bottle of wine before going home. We had just gone to dinner and they had a couple of cocktails, I was the sober driver. The guy behind the counter, starts interrogating my friend who was NOT driving...it was the weirdest experience. He said he's in some kind of law enforcement (why is he working at Circle K then?) and that he needed to be assured that we weren't drunk. My friend is an educator and I'm a professional, we like to have fun...but far from being irresponsible (that's why I was the sober driver). But I started to say that this was ridicuously and couldn't believe that he was 'testing' my friend who wasn't even driving...He actually gave us our money back and wouldn't sell to us! We are both in our 40s and I just never had such a strange encounter. It was odd! THEN I told one of my friends of the experience and she said that one of her friends had a similar experience there and the SAME guy CALLS the La Mesa PD on her friend. She came out and they were waiting for her after the guy at the counter said the he had to 'reboot' the computer in the back (apparently really calling the LMPD) - like me she was apparently the sober driver and was let go. CRAZY stuff! Also, I've heard from others that they go there and the store will be closed constantly for like a 1/2 hour at a time....strange. Never again! read more
