Went to a shell gas station located on Dallas Street and Fletcher Parkway in La Mesa, California within the last month. After fueling up I continued to get air in my left front passenger tire. There was an employee near the air and water station who offered to help. I gave him $2.00 in quarters and returned to my driver's seat with my door open. After filling my tire up with air he zoomed in on me sitting on my driver's side seat and kissed me on the mouth. ... My husband passed away just weeks earlier and I was wearing my wedding ring. I didn't know what to do or think so I just sped off. I left my name and number with the girl at the counter. A manager contacted me a few days ago and stated he asked "Author" about the incident. Arthur first denied it and then he stated he couldn't remember. Whatever, he will get his from my late husband I guarantee it!! ....I told the manager that I will never step in to that establishment again. He will be losing close to $1,000 a month due to this employees actions. I don't know if he's still an employee there or not. read more

I frequent this station as it's close to my son's school. The gas prices are usually pretty decent and they are the same whether you pay cash or credit. They have a car wash here too. I think it's a little overpriced though. I go inside to buy drinks sometimes or a snack for my lil dude. They have pretty much the same items a 7-11 carries, but on a smaller scale. Some of their prices are actually lower. All the fountain drinks are $1 regardless of size, not a bad deal if you're super thirsty. Service here has always been good. Every time I've been in, I've had good service. They are friendly and polite. I have brought my son in a few times, and he goes crazy looking at all the snacks. He's very polite though and they're always cheerful with him, I appreciate that. read more

I used the car as I had many times before but tonight the wash was less than acceptable so I went inside and asked if I could get another car wash explaining the issue. Having been a customer for 20 years and spent thousands of dollars purchasing gas and having my cars washed, having 4 drivers in the house, I expected better customer service. Instead the young girl said she didn't have the authority to help me, that if she gave me a free car wash she'd have to pay for it. We're talking about making a long time customer happy and correcting an issue, Customer Service! So, Mr. Manager, Owner, Clerk if you read this know I'm disapointed in your service, I'm disapointed in your employee who began giving me the old "Me know understand" routine in broken english "I can't help you" as I pointed out you're the employee and your car wash let me down. How about a Rain Check for another wash?? I love this gas station! I'm usually a Chevron filler, but ever since the gas prices have been going up, I always go here. It has a very convenient location and the cost of gas here is always the cheapest, always at least a few cents or more cheaper than all the other gas stations in the area. And with the current and upcoming gas prices rising, it will definitely add up! One gripe I have is that the snacks and drinks inside the mini-mart are pretty expensive. Yea, gas stations are usually on the pricey side anyways, but this one just seems a tad more expensive and barely ever any good deals when you feel like picking up a bottle of water or something. read more

However, I asked you for a pack of smokes nicely and with a please added which I do anywhere I do business, it's my way of being a friendly customer, it's NOP for me. One would think by looking at your face and body language my friendly request for a pack of smokes was like I asked you to murder your first born... I'm guessing you reacted this way because you had to actually get up from the chair you seemed very acquainted and comfortable with and grab my pack of smokes. Your demeanor is horrible and retail is not for you. You should consider a job working for the government, you'd fit right in with no training needed. Maybe your just having a tough day I don't know, if its my smoking that bothers you so personally don't worry as I'm quitting very soon, thanks for caring. Shell... Your space at the counter is to crammed up and makes it customer unfriendly being crammed in a little space with more than one other customer waiting in line. Other than that and the unprofessional attitude with employees that seems to plague this location your store is clean and organized well. I'm choosing to write about this particular gas station because it's the one that I frequent the most. I've mainly heard good things about both Chevron and Shell gasoline, and this gas station, not being near a freeway, tends to have some of the lowest gas prices around. My car takes 91 because it's a performance vehicle, and this is one of those weird gas stations that doesn't simply put a 10 cent difference between each grade of gas. Instead, there is only an 8 cent difference, making this the cheapest place to get 91 gasoline (where you can still pay with a credit card: Arco doesn't count). The only place cheaper is on base. The customer service here is adequate. The bathroom is usually mostly clean. It smells fine, which is more than I can say for most gas station bathrooms. And they have a better selection of beer than most 7-Elevens. The only problem is that this place is right next to a middle school, so never go there in the morning or early afternoon on weekdays. But you shouldn't be getting your gas except really late at night or first thing at dawn, at which time the gas is at its densest, and you're getting the most gas for your money. read more

I love that this gas station is located close to my house. It's always clean and has a car wash. I will say that the carwash doesn't clean your car very well but it's decent. One thing that I find very strange is that there is a lady who is not employed by Shell asking to clean your windows for money. ???? Maybe a perk or a nuisance....you decide! read more

I came in yesterday (friday early am) in a great mood until I had to deal Kevin which had no customer service skills what's so ever. This place has to be owned by someone who clearly does not care. The carwash has been terrible for years. The entire rear beverage cooler does not get cold anymore and 2 of the doors have been shattered for over a month. The cards readers at the pump haven't worked for years so you always have to go in. They only have one register which is a nightmare. If you come in during a shift change be ready to wait, which totally sucks if your in a hurry. Seems like there is always multiple people working but you'll often find them sitting around chatting, sometimes with some really sketchy looking folks. This place is in a great location and has so much potential to thrive but not with the above combination. read more

As I look around in search of who is smoking hoping they are not close to anything with gas I notice that both of the staff from in the station are sitting just in the other side of my car pufffing away on their cigarettes. Used the car wash 3 times. First time, no issues. The second time the wash was broken. Had to go elsewhere. The third time, I entered the code While it was in use with the car ahead of me. Car left. Nothing happened. Entered the code again, and said it was "Not an acceptable payment method". So got a refund. I really wanted the car wash and was disappointed in having to fund another place. This store has changed for the better. CLEAN, and the new manager goes out of her way to stop what she is doing to help you. The majority of the staff there now are really nice and know how to make your day! This is my main gas station now. read more

I have been going to this She'll station for 4 years without incident. Yesterday, I went to use the car wash ( big mistake). I usually go to Soapy Joes on Jackson, but didn't want to be inconvenienced in driving there as I was already in this area. I noticed that the machine now accepted cash. I put a $10 bill in the machine, and asked for the $7 wash. Since there was not a clearly defined sign that said "MACHINE DOES NOT ISSUE CHANGE," I assumed I would get MY $3 in change. When the machine DID NOT ISSUE MY CHANGE, I went inside the store assuming they would return MY MONEY to me. WRONG ASSUMPTION!! These greedy people refused and when the attendant called her "manager," they spoke in another language that I didn't understand, and continued to refuse the return of my money. Of course I was beyond MAD and told the attendant to call the owner/manager timely them know that I was reporting the incident to the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU....which I promptly did when I returned home. As far as I'm concerned, the refusal to return my money, or give me a $3 credit towards another car wash ( which I suggested and was refused), is theft. I work hard for my money. They lost a good customer, and now have a complaint filed against their business for improper business practices. All they had to do was not think of greed and return the paying customer her $3.00. It's the principle of the matter!!! And Soapy Joes is cheaper, you get a better car wash, free vacuum, and free towels to dry off your vehicle!! Unhappy Customer! I don't frequent this gas station but at times have gotten gas and a fountain beverage. I opted for a carwash, $10. I pulled in and the carwash never came on. It repeatedly asked me to back up and pull forward which I did for almost 15mins. I finally pulled out and walked inside. This was the WORST customer service ever. I explained the issue and asked for a car wash credit or my mom back. The lady told me she could help me and there was no one I could talk to. I asked for a phone number of a supervisor or manager, she said there isn't one. After about 10 mins of explaining that I was not comfortable leaving with out talking to someone that I could explain my story to. She handed me a phone number and told me to call the next day. I have been calling everyday since last Friday....No call back or response. So I take it we lost $10. Not so much mad at the money but that there was no outcome, no call back, no credit for another wash, no courtesy call. Really Bad Customer service here! read more
