The Holla-Peños were another winner--fresh jalapeños stuffed with creamy brie, goat cheese, and mozzarella, then topped with blueberry compote and a honey-thyme drizzle. It sounds unusual, but the combination really works. The Caesar salad was also very good, with crisp romaine, bacon, housemade croutons, pesto Caesar dressing, parmesan, and shallots. The only dish that missed the mark for me was the Steak & Poblano Peppers. The flavors were fine overall, but the steak had a slightly odd smell that made me hesitate, and it wasn't something I would order again. Baking created a hard shell around a dough ball with blue goo on top. Nothing red or white about it, btw. Seriously, though - why not just say we don't have any made? What made the experience even more frustrating was the lack of attentive service. My server never returned to check on my meal or ask how everything was going. By the time they came back, it was only to offer me the check and a to-go container. I didn't even have an opportunity to express my disappointment with the salmon or give the restaurant a chance to address the issue.
