The service is good. Very kind people. If you enjoy Indian and/or spicy food, THIS is the place to be. If you're someone who can barely handle the "heat" of pepper...avoid at all costs I was asked what level of spice I wanted from a scale of 1-6, I said 3 and I don't think I could handle a 5 but I'm excited to try it next time! A 1 on that scale, I feel would be the equivalent of Tabasco sauce but thats just my scale. I look forward to trying more items from their menu soon.

Found this hidden gem on a road trip to Chicago. Absolutely phenomenal food with a robust menu featuring South Indian street food along with traditional dishes. Including my personal street food favorite Idli, which I've never found on a US menu. It was as delightful as I remembered. I also ordered the vegetable pakora and tandoori chicken- so crazy good! Server was great with providing suggestions for my food allergies too. Decor was modern and fun. I plan to visit during future trips.

Great food. My biggest complaint with indiana cuisine and lack of consistency between restaurants with spice level but they seem to have it spot on. I got masala chicken with 4/6 spice level. I enjoy spice and it was perfect for me. Would go higher but didn't want to sweat too much in the restaurant

Great food and great service! Very accommodating to a large group of people. Everything was delicious, some favorites of our group were the Gobi Manchurian and Saag Chicken. Staff was great and very helpful.

First time having Indian food. Went with some regulars so they helped me pick the food and spice level. The service was very good. I enjoyed the food and would like to try it again. The place could definitely have a fun vibe at night but I went for lunch.

Jaalsa decor is modern with upbeat music. - A neon sign reading "Taagsa" is displayed on a dark green leafy wall, accented by pink flowers, in an indoor setting.

Very tasty Indian food. Mild still has some heat. Nice atmosphere with upbeat music. Good date place. Open lunch and dinner. Good place for vegetarians.

Great for a lunch or dinner spot. The food was all very flavorful and the beer and cocktail selections were great as well!

Great service and delicious food. They have options for vegetarians and vegans s too. The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful!

Lunch special (they have a vegetarian option for this as well). - Indian cuisine meal featuring multiple curries, naan bread in foil, and a serving of rice on a restaurant table.

Walking in I was surprised to see how beautiful they made the place! The service was amazing, very clean place, music was awesome and the food was truly amazing!! Good place to go if you love Indian food, also good to try Indian food if you've never had it. I had the spice level 3 (they have 1-6) and it was perfect. Naan was delicious and fresh, the lunch special came with a good amount of food (I had leftovers), everything is reasonably priced and they have a bar! They also have big tables for parties and a dj booth. This is something we need more of in Springfield! Will be coming back for sure :-)

Naan, misc meals - A dining table features naan bread, bowls of rice and various curries, along with a salad, set in an Indian restaurant environment.

Great food and good location. Nice to add a third Indian restaurant in town, they're all just a bit different.

My review will be limited as we came during their holiday schedule. We had reservations (an…read moreabsolute must) on Monday during the holiday season (normally closed on Monday). Their service was limited to drinks and a featured appetizer. The ambiance was stunning! Hats off to the designer of the Christmas decorations. The decor set the expectation of my experience and they did not disappoint!. There were 8 in our party and we ordered from the holiday drink menu, designed like a Christmas Card which is a genius idea. We tried 8 of their drinks and passed them around to taste. ALL were well balanced so hats off to the bartenders as the place was packed and it would have been easy to let your standards slip when you are as busy as they were. Although the place was packed our service was great. I can't wait to return and try their food menu. If it is anything like their attention to detail, I am so excited to return and I fully expect to post a great review. What a great evening with friends and a great kick off of the holidays. Just a quick note on pricing: This is not a chain restaurant so don't expect chain restaurant prices. My opinion is it is deserved price point when you consider the standards they set. It's a perfect place for date night, entertaining a client or a girls evening out.

We had a pre dinner drink at Wheat Penny last night, and the experience was overall enjoyable. We…read morewould definitely come back. We walked in around 4:15pm, and found an open private booth which was cool. The entire space is classy and I'd like to sit in the leather chairs in the back room next time. The drinks were good- a Carajillo and special "love potion". The booth had the ability to control our music volume which we enjoyed. The only hiccup is the menu said to "hit the button in your booth to order", we couldn't find the button. After waiting quite a while our waitress hadn't come back, so I went to find her and put our drinks in. She explained the booths no longer have buttons. No big deal, but we should have been approached sooner for our drink order versus having to go find her. All in all we still enjoyed our experience and will return.
